Out of those, I would have to pick the Dark Age of Camelot screenshots. I haven't ever seen those shots before. Those are sweet.
I don't think that World of Warcraft can do a good screenshot. It cracks me up when people defend that game. I see a bunch of line figures when I look at it. And that dragon looks like he's about 4 inches off the ground in the front and needs someone with a wench for assistance in the rear. And I like the way they craft their sitting stools to the terrain. "This one is going to sit right there, so I need this leg to be about 2 inches shorter on this corner. That way when I sit I don't slide on off. Perfect!" (Oooops, I hear Gameloading coming, everyone hide. hehe. )
Why are the Ryzom screenshots so small? I guess you had to use the size on the website though. They should put up some larger ones.
the Lineage 2 screenshot, the 2nd one. its nice. the first Lineage 2 screenshot should have been taken from the ground. Valakas looks much more impressive from there. WoW screenshots looks pretty nice too, but nothing special. its just a shame we still have so many pathetic and clueless haters on mmorpg.com =/

Hehe that's funny.
It kinda looks like that girl in the Everquest II picture is trying to sneak a peek at that skeleton taking a pee by the tree. She even has that look on her face.
I think Lineage II wins the pretty award. Shame that's the ONLY award worth anything I could give it. Second, I would say DAoC. Not that it has the BEST graphics out there (it IS a bit aged) but there's definitely a better "feel" to things in that game. I mean castles in DAoC seem real...not made of Legos like WoW
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
I didnnt know that Dark Age of Camelot looked that good. I just read it is an old game. But that throne room looks really good. And that staff has a lot of detail in it. I may try it out now. I was expecting it to look like old Everqust or somehting.
I've played all of them, and I can honestly say that Lineage 2's graphics and artists are the best. All the other games start looking like crap if you turn the graphics even below medium. Even if the Lineage 2's graphics are turned down below medium, you can still see the quality artists and the quality graphics.
The worst out of those would have to be Everquest 2. It is the perfect example of a good graphics engine in the hands of bad artists (and company).
EQ2s engine is obviously capable of some pretty nice lighting and shading effects. It's a shame that Sony apparently has some of the absolute worst artists in the game industry doing all of the design work for the game. It would be interesting to see what that engine could do in the hands of artists who had a shred of talent.

I had no idea Daoc looked that good but I never gave it a shot because its an old game....I think.
Anyways I voted Daoc....very surprisingly. I think ill give the game a shot. EQ2 has shitty armor imo. WoW has great artists like the above poster said but their graphics engine needs to be revamped.

Yeah, if you like playing with barbies. Those models look ackward and very plastic. Kind like little toys. To me EQ2 has the worst. WoW doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. The graphics are supposed to look like the WC games, duh. I think the best shots are from DAoC, with EQ2 last.
edited to give Guild Wars props. I'd vote that game if it was listed.
I agree. Of course, everytime someone starts one of these "what has the best graphics" threads, they inevitably pick very high quality screenshots of some games and very poor shots of other games... and usually, "coincidently", the high quality shots are from the game the person writing the post likes the best.
From the little I've seen of Ryzom (played the free trial a couple of times, but not long enough to really take to the game), while the graphics engine is a little rough around the edges, the game has a unique and interesting art style and has some very beautiful areas.
Originally posted by Pietoro I greatly beg to differ. The example shots in the OT were very poor.
The fact is that DAoC might look that way in the FINAL dungeon of the FINAL expansion. But the truth is, the rest of the game, looks like crap. I realize it's old, but don't try to make it look better than it really is. They look pre-rendered to me
Ryzom has the nicest.
Look:
And This is how DAoC really looks when you START playing:

I don't know what edition of DAoC you're playing, but my DAoC doesn't look anything like that. Maybe try running the updater every once and a while. I dunno. But Muir Tomb never ever looked like that when I played. lol.

Good lord man!!! There are tutorials all over the place on how to upgrade your graphic settings on that game. That's how it looked when it first came out.
And actually, those screenshots aren't the last dungeon. One is Darkness Falls. The other is a throne room where you see the king of Midgard I believe. And 80%-90% of the game looks that good now that they did the visual upgrades. You don't even have the new character model for the Lurikeen on there.
I'll vote for SoR. It's a very colourful, busy world.
Next, out of the choices given, probably Lineage II. Not much customization, or anything else great about it, but the characters and scenery are pretty.
And I have to agree with some others about EQII. It appears as if they tried to make it look real, but failed miserably.

I'm not being critical of you, I promise. I'm just curious. What do you mean about EQ2? I look at those screenshots and I think they look awesome. They aren't a Pixar film, but they look the closest of any game I've seen to being one.

you look at those screenshots and really, its a shame that some of the better graphics engines are plagues by piss poor artists
thats one thing lineage 2 has both of, a great graphics engine and incredible artists
personally I think WoW has some awesome artists as well, but im not impressed by its graphics engine.
saga of ryzom..well imo is hideous.
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
EQ2 has a great graphics engine, but the artists and animators are probably the worst of all of those screenshots
that was actually the game I was refering to in my other post

Mate, you left out Guild Wars, which has excellent art design and a good engine...
