Here's why I think we haven't heard any REAL denials over this.
Because I think it just might be true. NOT the part about pre-cu servers, but if you get that wonderful idea out of your head, and re-read the memo, it seems more legit.
They're probably all going "WHO THE HELL LEAKED THIS?!?!?!?" just like they did with the nge. Key members of the dev team aren't denying this, just lackeys. When the "Smed was fired" posts came out, instant denial by Kramer on MMORPG.COM. I e-mailed Kramer this directly, NOTHING. Not that I expected him to respond to me directly, but you'd expect SOMETHING SOMEWHERE.
Now do I expect the same memo to be released on the 20th? HELL no. They'll definately re-write it and change the thrust of it. Hell, if there is truly no plan to bring back pre-cu servers, I bet we won't see the word "classic" anywhere.
Either this is the best hoax yet... or it is the smoking gun. We won't know until this doesn't happen.

Well if you're talking about the press release where they're going to announce SW:G Complete then all it means is that now everybody will be able to view other player's inventory and equipped gear ala http://eq2players.station.sony.com/ style. The paragraph with the following sums up what you'll find on swgplayers.com:
"In addition to Star Wars® Galaxies: Complete, SOE is launching SWG Players, a website designed to extend the player's interaction with the game outside of the game world. The website, www.swgplayers.com, will launch on December 15, 2006, and will have profiles for more than 2 million characters and more than 400 million total inventory items."
Basically all current players will have access to this information for a short amount of time (same as station pass users do for EQ2) to which allows them not only to view their character stats from the website while out of game but to view what others are running as well thus basically removing what setups some people try to keep secret. In some ways it should have been done from the beginning to help detour exploited items; however, it wouldn't do much as most who were adamant about sploting kept their questionable goods in droids as and yes sabers still transferred to droids via drag and drop.

well... all i can say is when rumors of this magnitude come up the only thing you can rely on is past experiences. this one is legit boys. We already know that SOE will do anything it wants and whatever is said on the official forums does not hold any weight. When rumors fist started circulating about SWG total experience on amazon.com, gamestop etc they all denied it... They denied the NGE.... and look how they officially announced that. Its was like. hey here is an expansion but by the way we got this thing called the NGE we have been working on for over a year. Our boys over at SOE are up to something. Their past track record supports this. The forum upgrade thay announced has something to do with this as well. You can just bundle up SWG and all the expansions, box it up and put it on the shelf and expect it to sell. Something esle is in the works boys. For me i remember dev response being at an all time low just before the NGE was announced. Dev response has never been great but the way it has been latley just feels the same...
At this point, I'm calling BS on this until something more substantial develops. I'm more likely to believe that rkabyrne (of the SMED is FIRED!!! fame) has a new account under the nick of Shuckles than this so-called release. Mr. Shuckles only joined us 4 days ago and already has 73 posts (at time of this writing).
Shayde, I do see the points in your arguments and I am strongly tempted to believe them, but I just can't without more substantive supporting evidence.
