I have predicted that WOW was going to be a great success, EQ2 would fall behind WoW, i also predicted that dark and light wouldnt have all the features and gameplay that it was going to have when it was going to be released.
The following games will fail these others will succeed.
Vanguard- vanguard will succeed. While not having the playerbase WoW will have the company making this game has learned a great deal from EQ2 and will implement many changes and stuff EQ2 doesnt have and will work to make a new better mmorpg.
age of conan - While being dark and dreary, AoC will fail it will go along the lines of DDO. Many players will get bored of it fast. It will be very repetitive.
Darkfall - will succeed it will have alot of gameplay very simalar to old school UO but it will have ALOT of other features that will keep a high playerbase for oncomming years. Many hardcore PVPers and old school UOers will flock to this game.
Tabula Rasa - it will contain the success that EQII has now. It will contain a very medium playerbase. Most of that do to it will have low advertizing and not many will know about it, it will still be a fun game.
Fallen earth - Will fail it will be very boring while it will have ALOT of customization like COH/COV not many players will be interested and eventually grow bored of its repetivness.
Star Treak online - Will be cancled.
Warhammer will succeed and have ALOT of success, it wont have hardcore PVP like playerlooting but it will get alot of advertizing, alot of fanbase it will be ALOT like WoW just more dark and have more depth and developers will concentrate alot less on PVE raiding.
LOTRO - Will fail, it also will grow reptitive without any PVP, the games PVE will have the same dungeon scheme and eventually will fall.

I have a theory about this "period" poster.
I think "period" is a bot. A bot that scans threads for popular themes and then posts its own version of the same theme. There's no person here...this is a test of some kind of AI annoyance NPC.

I dont see how you or I could know how many people knew what Warcraft was when they Started WoW, so stop pretending like you do.
And I didn't say WoW will be the last mmorpg.

I mostly agree with you Grimboj here, sorry to fire at my own camp...but Star Trek fans doesn't compare in numbers to Blizzard fans.
Trekkies doesn't even compete with Star Wars fans in NUMBERS. Blizzard was the most popular gaming company prior WoW, however since WoW they gain much infamy, dunno where they stand exactly, but they are still a major force in the market.
WoW breaks the million sold box in no time, that isn't word of mouth, it is franchise power. I don't think any MMO can have such an initial launch without a powerful franchise, and not that many powerful franchise. ATM Warhammer is the strongest franchise coming soon and yet, not sure that the fanbase is that impress with the MMOs...not sure they will buy massively the game at release...maybe...but maybe they will wait.
However I do believe that BioWare will beat WoW, it will just take them some times. BioWare won't sell a million boxes in nearly the same amount of time as WoW did, yet they will outsell WoW in the long run, easily. Word of mouth is a slow progression, it is not fast and instantaneous. Word of mouth is exactly how BioWare will advance despite an honest fanbase helping their release. Of course if this ain't a medieval-fantasy game, than I don't think BioWare will beat WoW since the fans want medieval-fantasy, yet it will still be awesome and great!
Blizzard lost many fans with this infamy, by making peoples unhappy with their gaming experience. Blizzard used to have peoples leaving their games happy. WoW breaks that rule.

yeah, hell, lets derail this...
So i saw Superman Returns at the weekend. Really enjoyed it, visually a little dark, but really great action sequences. My only criticsim would be Brandon Routh. He did a solid job but all i could think of watching it was... wow, imagine this film but with Christopher Reeve in his prime.
The 1st movie was on TV over the same weekend, and yes its corny, yes the FX look very shaky now, but Reeves acting as Superman just made Routh look so wooden. Its only on reflection i realise what a great actor he was in that role.
Good job Brandon but...

ya ive been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on the new superman. my opinion? i saw the first movies with christopher reeve, im not a big superman fan.. and i dont have the urge to see another one
but for some reason.. I want to see snakes on a plane? lol
