But you can bet your sweet ass that IF mmorpg.com had to take any financial responsibility for refunds of anybody that might be scammed or ripped off by this "Thrones of Chaos" crap... they'd think twice before agreeing to host their ads on this site - and I bet you that we would NOT see any Thrones of Chaos ads here.

Actually I would not advertise for ANY companies if I had to take responsibilities for their actions.  Even major corporations worth billions still do wrongful things.

Admin:  Just curious, but has any game ever been asked to be removed from this site due to bad publicity and word of mouth it gets?

Has ToC asked to be listed on this site as a game?  Maybe you should tell them they would do better to simply advertise heavily here instead of having a forum where they will contiunually be called scammers and the like.

I posted a topic in here a month or so ago asking about mourning and Dekron stated:

Loud Ant Software, the "new" owners of Thrones of Chaos, a.k.a. Mourning, is actually owned, and managed by the same team as before.  Egomancer even heads the team once again.  This is why it is not listed on mmorpg.com.

    (found here:http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/82922/page/1)

How did you come to the decision that this is not the case and that Dekron was wrong?  Why has MMORPG.com's position suddenly change?

    Thanks.

It's truly iffy at this point. The new team claims that the old team
are "advisers" still, not to mention that the new team and old team
"worked together" on serveral flash games (both teams only games).

It doesn't really matter though, this new crew of teenagers aren't going to put anything on the market.

Note that comments made by our moderators are not official positions of MMORPG.com.  At the time Dekron likley heard the comments on our staff boards when the ToC launch was announced.  We were all HEAVILY skeptical about the launch and many of us thought the original team was still in place.  After looking at this though it seems that new devs are in Oregon, USA and at the least some of the old team was consulting (which is understandable).

At the time Dekron was pretty much echoing our thoughts among the staff...but we don't feel that way anymore (well some still do - LOL).  However we are planning on keeping a sharp eye on this game and company.

I advise that all new questions, comments and other news about mourning and it's clones on the established post here-

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/37720

Lets let this thread die. No need to have 10 posts on the same subject.

Re: Thrones of Chaos, formely Age Of Mourning

    Hi Everyone,

This post may fall on deaf ears, but I thought i would give it a shot as the admins here with taking some heat for allowing us to advertise on this site.

Loud Ant Software bought the remains of the disaster Age of Mourning in hope that we could revive it and make it into a good game. We are currently working on fixing all the bugs, redoing all the animations and models. You can see the progress being made on our site thronesofchaos.com.

We are a completely new team, all  US based. We have no intention of ripping people off. In fact, our intentions are to make amends to the people that had lost money through the old development team when the game was Age of Mourning. We are offering all these people free lifetime accounts.

In addiition, on the release of the game, we are going to offer the game on a trial basis. If you dont like it after 7 days, then you dont have to buy a key, you dont have to buy anything. We are not going to charge you a penny for a game you dont want to play. We are not going to do pre orders or anything that requires you to pay an upfront fee.

We have been in communication with two people on the old development team simply to get answers  about the code/engine; this is the only connection we have with the old developement team.

Taking over hundreds of thousands of line of code with poor documentation is not an easy task and required our team to ask them questions. They advised in the sense that they showed us where things were. We currently have a team of 20 programmers based in the US working on this in hopes of giving it new life.

We are tarnished by what the old development company did to the game. Maybe we cant work our way out of it. However, we are going to try our best to make it work.
