    get real you H8er

i'm pretty sure he compared aspects of the games and said in those aspects eq2 won out.  not sure if your post was in the correct thread...

but let's run with your comments...  now this will just be from me reading on eq2's site about features in their expansions:

    desert of flames:

join the brawls in this rough and tumble city by taking over key buildings. the adventures and quests available will dynamically change based upon your actions.

wow has a "get a bunch of sand" quest in sil, gives you a 10 minute buff or something.

take the form of exotic creatures or fight as yourself , as you challenge other creatures and players for the title of arena champion.

wow has two lil pvp arenas, one in stv, one in dm.  yeah, you get a couple of trinkety items of whatever.

some sort of climbing movement, giving you vertical movement.

wow still let's you jump, pretty sure you can do that in eq2 also though, and in uo.

blah blah, story-driven adventures.  dunno, sounds like raids, instances or roaming bosses, yeah, wow's got this too in new patches.

ok, i'm looking at the creatures' section now.  if it looks this good in game... the graphics totally kick wow's ass.

something about you can get to lvl 60.  i'm guessing there was a lower level cap before this?

kingdom of sky -  (this one i can just copy/paste):

    • Higher level advancement – now reach level 70 as an adventurer or artisan.
ok, more levels.  bleh.  HOWEVER, for all you crafters out there... it's common knowledge that this crafting actually has high end goodies that are useful, wow, again, yet, notsomuch.
    • All-new Achievement system – specialize your character with new sets of abilities gained as you level up, complete quests, and defeat notable opponents
um, i'm guessing this is in addition to the things you could already do.  don't think wow really adds to stuff, they've just tried fixing stuff they flubbed initially, i.e. talent trees.
    • Guild advancement expanded to level 50
oh yeah, i forgot about this.  yeah, wow has NOTHING to compare with this stuff.
    • Four new arena champions and two new arenas
heck if i know, maybe these arenas are their version of bgs?
    • All new Heritage Quests allow players to gain amazingly powerful items, personal status, adventure experience and even a reward made famous in the original EverQuest or EverQuest Online Adventures!
wow came out with the lvl 50 quest stuff, so now hunters have TWO quests.  you get quests to grind in raid dungeons in wow.  is that what these are for eq2?  or are they more along the lines of the wow lvl 50 quest series?
    • Signature Quests reward large experience bonuses, entirely new items, and advance the lore of EverQuest II!
lore...warcraft... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH... sorry, had to be said.  maybe this feature is like the wow raid quests?
    • Over 30 new Collections expand on one of the most popular features exclusive to EverQuest II.  Find them all and earn all new rewards
gotta catch'em all~!!!  well, i guess it beats grinding for rep.  i guess that's what i'd compare it to.  collections don't take very long to fill, do they?
    • Challenging new zones, both below ground and high above it! 25 new enemies to fight
a new instance every patch.  does that count, or are the eq2 zones (plural) way larger?
    • Brand new pieces of armor, such as Profession Hats, Helmets and Pauldrons, will make your character look more distinct!
do i have to grind for weeks in a damn raid?  if not, then this IS hella better than most wow armor adds.  oh wait, make your character look more distinct... yeah, they're totally hacking on wow's EVERYONE looks the same garbage.  well good on them.  wow improved upon eq, maybe eq2 is returning the favor?
    • Over 30 new items to put in your player house
player house... wow.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  i know you can craft and buy things to put in your house.  dunno if these 30 are new craftables, or world drops, or what.  anywho, yeah wow don't need no stinking player houses or guild stuffs.

ok, i'm bored looking for expansions.  dunno mang, sounds better than freewow patches to me.  but, it's SOE, and it's the sequel to eq... those are two big strikes against it, in my book.

My god you make me sick!

WoW still has better T&A which will out sale a complex crafting system anyday.

I'd love to see if they do another mmorpg. To me, WoW was a bit of a disappointment coming from a warcraft and a mmorpg background. So I think I wouldn't mind seeing a WoW2 because to be honest WoW1 was their icebreaker mmorpg and they wanted it to be a success so took the best elements of some mmorpgs to ensure that success. With a second mmorpg they can afford to be more creative since they have attracted a lot more people into the mmorpg genre. But as said, yeah I doubt they would want it competing with WoW or even Warhammer so I guess it will have to be another of its games. Maybe diablo or something.

I never played any of the warcraft games until WoW. The moment I started playing the game I was sucked in. I thought to myself Blizzy did to WoW which SoE neglect to do with EQ for all those years.

I tried a hella lot of MMO's and I have to say only 2 games sucked me in right from the beginning WoW and EQ. Unfortunately WoW never filled the void for a decent community as EQ did. I kept telling myself that's because the game is young the community will get better and it did some but it still doesn't compare to what I had in EQ.

Now a day I think the community lacks because of the game mechanics itself. Questing divides players, no use grouping with the same people when each have different task and quest. Once a person gets all they can from an instance there is no reason to keep going it will only slow down that players game progression.

I used to complain about EQ not having quest and you basically pick a spot to camp for hours on end for xp but I do think that game method built a stronger social element.

Anyway that's my biggest gripe about WoW the social element is weak to the point where the grinds become boring.

As for WoW2 I don't see that happening, I do see maybe another blizzy title being made into an MMoG

please stop all these retarded posts about WOW 2 or Blizzard's next MMO.  Everyone knows the next title will be Starcraft 2 or Starcraft Ghost.  Maybe if WOW was good enough to keep your attention you would not be posting this crap....

They are not going to make SC 2 into a MMO. It will be an RTS. SC 1 is a national sport in South Korea. It is just too popular to change it. They already started finding RTS programmers to start on the project. Starcraft Ghost will never be a MMO. They finish making the game twice and both time Blizzard said that the game was crap and didn’t release it. It won’t happen a third time.

    <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->

Are you saying that over 6.5 million subscribers is wrong? You might hate it but Blizzard is laughing at your face all the way to the bank. Keep thinking it suck while they reach 10 million players.

ummm  did I say it would be a MMO?  Can u read?

I am posting this seeing as a lot of people seem to think Starcraft: GHOST is still in production.

Starcraft: Ghost according to Blizzard has been "suspended indefinantly".  They have removed the link to ghost from their company website.

Would you people please understand that there will be NO STARCRAFT: GHOST!

    Thank you for your time.

    (1997) UO --> EQ -> Runescape -> DAoC -> WoW -> EVE + WAR (2008)

Blizzard isn't stupid enough to have two MMO's at the same time.

  • RuthgarRuthgar Member Posts: 730
Blizzard needs to release Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. Both would be hits.

Like others have said, I don't see them releasing another MMO for a long time.

I am sure at some point years from now, they will feel that they need to make something to replace WoW, and they will start the 5-6 year project to create another MMO.

I hope they don't release a new MMO or Warcraft 4 for that matter. I want Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2. Or maybe something else? They should make a new franchise...
