What's so great about this game? The graphics make it look... boring. and it seems like one of those boring old "woohoo camelot and merlin and all that blah blah blah" games. What can be SO unique about it to make it the number 1 ranked games out of ALL these games including UO and EQ?!?!? I really would like to know.

81% perfect? I don't think so.

well it rivals everquest and ultima online for many reasons. Everquest is old. People are straying away from it. Therefore, many EQ servers are unfortunately very empty.
TO add to that....Ultima Online sux....so DAOC comes out better than both of them but the question is, IS it that much better?

If you wait to do something until the last minute, your more efficient since it will only take 1 minute.
I have been playing DAoC for a couple of years and I can't nail what the draw is either.
I have played AC, EQ, UO and even SWG they each have their strengths ... and their weaknesses but I still keep returning to good old Camelot. The fact is there isn't anything out their good enough for my tastes to replace it YET so I keep waiting ... very, very patiently.

I would suggest you browse over the many reviews of the game here at mmorpg.com. Your answers lie there.

PvE is good, not great and I was starting to get board. So I decided to give RvR (PvP DAoC style) not that I had not gone out and done that before. This time though it was with my SpiritMaster and I died a few times not doing much and then it happened. We hit another group and our healer landed a stun, I jumped into the middle of them and AoE'ed like a mad man and the fight was half over before it even got started good. No not ever fight went that way that day but I had tons of fun and learned a lot about my class and it's limitations and others as well and have been hooked on RvR from that day on. Yes I still PvE but not nearly as often.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

not to open a can of worms, but while DaoC is an alright game, I do agree that it's not worth the score given it.
Just take those MMORPG ratings as pure entertainment and fun andnot as concrete sources
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
If DAoC isn't, then what is?
Becuase you got board with it, makes it not a good game?
Is the score the problem or the fact it's number uno the problem?
Making something unique seldom makes you the best, generally doing something better than everyone else will. What has Blizzard made that was unique? Yet they win game of the year over and over.
In short DAoC is EQ without all that stuff you hate.

I think it was the blandness of the game that allows it to have such a high score. People who quit the game usually did so out of boredom. Nothing in particular that they didn't like, the game just got old. So when people rate it, they at least give it a middle of the road rating even if they quit long ago.
On the other hand, some of the games bring out more passion. Take EQ. Many people put much time and energy into the game. They made friends and enemies, and when they leave the game, often times it is out of something other than boredom. Often times it is burnout. Where they played the game long beyond it being fun just because they didn't want to give up what they had. Other times, it was because the falling out with a guild or friends. Or it could be because of something they lost that they feel was the fault of the game or the GMs (whether it was or not). So many people leave EQ bitter. And when they rate the game, they don't do so subjectively, they rate it harshly. They are giving it payback, not for the fun they had for years, but for the problems they had that caused them to quit.
Then there are other games that people invest time into even before it released like SWG. And when it is released with too many bugs and too much imbalance, it just doesn't live up to the hype and once again people are bitter. This isn't how they pictured the SWG universe, or their favorite class got nerfed, or was bugged forever. And once again it gets rated much more harshly than it would if people just quit out of boredom (personally, I quit it out of boredom since there is nothing to do when you finish your character).
I think the blandness of DAoC is what makes it the top game in the charts.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

Your are right EQ is old but still very much alive todfay because they have over 41+ server with at least 800+ people per server basically because of the games notority. and I have also read some where that EQ has the 70th best Economy In the world and it is a MMORPG !
