im still looking and the way you go hahaha reminds me of that gay richard on big brother scum of the earth! well if you had botherd to read what beatnik59 came up with then you wuld see a fair few points to why mmorpg.com would fix the rereviwe ! ok ask your self this! EVES Devs admit that their CS is failing send the same reply to every request they where sent in ,admiting they where failing ! yet the reviwe still keeps the CS at the same score .this would imply that eves CS has always been bad! And have never solved any ones problem being that if their CS is the same as it was to years ago EVE's dev and gm's just send the same reply to their users every request?? i dont think so of corse they have solved problems on the largescale but now its loseing control a touch yet the score still stays the same does any one see sence's in that? because i don't!
And btw im still looking for the date of the mmorpg.com awards! because thats the time the dev's requested their members go and vote for their game and give them good hype the second i find something i will show you ! And for being such a sarcastic noob im going to pic at eve every chance i get with evidence!
And you can tell your communety fan bois rthat we on this site have reason's for dis likeing your game!

Requires you to keep up a monthly subscription for well over a year if you are to become sucsesfull and have visable results!
The game is slow based ! not for me ,but some may like it and i respect that!
The game's enviroment stinks its like moveing across a screensaver nothing in the background moves only outher players! Yet outher games take gw have things like leafs falling of tree's wow has night and day change it rains not that these are big things towards a game but are more realistic what do you have in eve nothing non of the moons orbit as would in our space no shooting stars nothing their enviroment stinks its like playing in a black room with balls painted on the wall in the shape of planets!
The game is like like a flight simulator except you have no cockpit viwe
Skills take hours even days to go up one level
The only thing for new players to do is mine , do missions . because if they step foot in to a danger zone greedy corps will blast them down even though they posse no thret what so ever!
It's hard for some people to even get passed the tutorial but i stuck it out try'd my best to like the game thought these people must see something in this game but 14 days went by and nothing had no visable results mine'd or just did missions for a couple of days!
The fact you have little control over your ship suck its a point and click control and you determin your speed by clicking a speed meter ! people Dis runescape for being a point and click game yet our joint top game with 3 outher games is a point and click game so why give games like runescape a hard time !
I dis like the lack of updates in this game i looked up all patch records and found that the game was lasted patched a little less than half a year ago but that was for bug fixes! Where as games like gw stream their game on a weekly to daily basis ! games like runescape add more and more content every week to their members wow is just as bad as eve as it only patches eery month and that just isnt good enough in my eyes!
EVEs corps tend to think they are the "King ping" in life! But ifyou ask me they are just nerds who are to scared to go out of their room and get slaped about on the school yard and they take it out on people in game buit this can be said about alot of game !
If you ask me alot of games dont deserve half the rateing wow being one of them my little bro plays wow and that the type of communety you have on wow young new players to the mmorpg world!
im not going to slag eve off all together because their where 1 or 2 things i did like about the game all i dis agree on is the re-reviwe!
Yes, I have seen those posts. But also the general response to them is ambivalence. They don't really care.
As far as me, I enjoy a good civil discussion, and I enjoy helping new players enjoy the game I so enjoy.

ok im comeing to my sences a bit ok in my opinion EVE's re-reviwe was fixed in my opinion buit thats just me and with out evidence what can any one do about it !

My last post was slightly harsh bringing alot of bad points about eve but remember those are just my opinions So congrats to eve on their higher re-reviwe and let's leave it at that because this is point less we are argueing over a game! And to me a stupid game or any game shouldnt be worth argueing over!
People hate and love Eve for the same reason.
1) Its PVP
2) Its sandbox
If you pvp, the tempo is just right. Gives you time to lock targets, relay commands to your squad, and use your scanner. If you don't PVP then it's slow.
Eve is not a "game."
Eve is an operating system.
If you did not see any interesting content, its because you did not become involved with the community.
The developers do not make content. The players do.
I was making money helping in a low sec mining op with my 1st corp from my second day. I was in 0.0 in a month (with the graciousness of an unique alliance called the Confederation of Free Stars) and working with people. I would hire protectors by offering them half my ore. Got to know people and make good friends (and joined my present corp). I participated in the battles that gained independence for my alliance at 5 months, and have since become a highly respected director in my new corp which I have been in for almost 2 years.
How did I do this? I took risks, talked with people, and made friends, from day 1.
That is fair, EVE isn't big on instant gratification.
Fair enough, I've played GW and admit, it is a very beautiful game (Ascalon Pre Searing, and there was this one place in the mountain range between ascalon and kyrta (don't recall name) that had a simple stunning view. That game is lovely) But EVE does what it's supposed to do, it renders space, quite well, but admittedly that enviroment does not please the senses like GW does, nor does it have to. The graphics of EVE are good at what it does.
Guilty as charged. But flight sims can be enjoyable to some people.
Well, my own experience seems to contradict that statement, there is so much more to do in EVE and a fair amount of it is not strictly defined in the game mechanics. And yes, you can be killed by pirates in low sec or 0.0 space, that the basic premise. More risk, more reward. My suggestion, go with friends.
As far as alliances being greedy, well sir, they did fight for that space. Doesn't that give them some right of ownership? If you wish to contest that, for your own group and contest that ownership, or be cautious and try to outmanuver the owners of the region you're in. Or see if you can join one of the member corps, some members welcome relatively new players. (look up EVE University or Interstellar Starbase Syndicate)
Well, as far as new players providing no threat. Consider this sir, as far as they know you could be a alt spy who is feeding valuable intellegence to an enemy fleet. Military intellegence is big in this game.
I'm sorry you didn't have the starting experience I had sir. I do appreciate you trying though. EVE can be a hard game to get into, and I believe the hardest hurdle to enjoying this game is finding a home, which usually translates to finding a good purpose driven corp.
I don't know about runescape sir, but yes, EVE has a basic interface for movement. But how much detail do you want, this isn't a fighter, these ships are what in todays navy would be destroyers, cruisers, and carriers. This is a capital ship simulator.
Not too long ago the Devs added the alliance system, Battlecruisers, the ability to produce permnament outposts to this game, titans, among other things. They are making a graphics update in the coming year, as well as allowing alliances to further develop constellations that they have a strong presence in, and a bunch of stuff I'm afraid I don't recall at the moment. It may not be week by week, but updates do happen.
You said something about respect sir, but is this respect? A rather blanket statement on a group of people whom you know nothing about or their place in life. Please at least give them the courtesy you expect given to them yourself.

Just a quick comment on a detail that has been brought up and treated a bit like a conspiracy theory here: Why the re-review?
I'd have to check back and see when the original review was, it's been a long time since I originally read it, but the main thing about Eve (yes I'm a player) that keeps many of us old timers around, is that it's constantly evolving.
It's easy to harp on about Eve providing free expansions in comparison to other games and make that a basis for an arguement. The real bones about the expansions though it that they often have the effect of alterring how the game feels to some extent, beyond the regular content additions.
In the way of expansions, since Eve began there has been: Second Genesis, Castor, Exodus, Cold War, and Red Moon Rising. Currently there is a huge anticipation for the next one, Kali. Now with each of these expansions, we've seen some pretty major changes... as I said, I can't recall when the last review was, but Eve really is a different game; at least in my own view.
Alright, I'm kind of stretching the 'quick comment' here, so I'll add one more.... regarding the interactive screen saver thought that has been overly expounded here. Personally, I find the environment to be breathtaking at times, but that's subjective... the beef people have seems to be the lack of interactivity with the environment. I'm tempted to argue 'It's space people!'. In truth, I think people are referring not to interactivity, like manipulating objects, but to effects in the environment (like leaves falling from a tree as someone mentioned).
I agree, I'd love to see some more environmental going-ons. Things aren't quite as static as people make them out to be however. A number of the planets you see have effects going on around them, like a lightning storm for example, only viewed from above; asteroids rotate; NPC ships like traders are seen going to and from stations; and various parts on player owned stations have widgets and doohickies that move etc. Overall though, the 'feeling' you come away with is a good one... but yeah I'd still like to see more in that area myself.
As for interactivity, Eve is fast approaching Kali as I mentioned, and there is one thing in particular I'm very much looking forwards to. I'm going to use the upcoming RTS, Supreme Commander as an example. With SupCom, one of the things you can do with it is that as you scroll out, you can just keep going and going until you see the whole map. I think they refer to it as a 'seamless map'. Eve is going to have the same thing in Kali. You can be looking at your ship the one moment, and then you start to scroll out, and you keep going... next you and your fleet are just a tiny dot next to a planet, and you go further, and you can see the whole solar system.... and you go further still.
Honestly, I already know I'm going to end up losing ships when I'm messing around with this function. It's not just for the pretty graphics that they are doing it however, there is going to be a whole range of functionality built into it.... ah yes, and I do believe that the stars in the background now.... that's going to be the actual galaxy starring you back in the face. I don't really need to go into detail how Eve is having it's engine upgraded, that all the models for every ship in game are being redone, or that we'll have a completely new engine and all new models for Eve for a client that will run on Vista in the future (as expected, the various clients all interact together and there is no sharding going on in the server)... and it's damn breathtaking.
Alright.. I thought I was done, but... I'm not. The 'zomg' reaction to Eve's customer service was a bit bothersome. Their CS isn't actually breaking down and falling apart... as much as some people here apparently pray for this to happen each night they get tucked into bed. It's called a service backlog. Some may not have noticed, but while Eve is a niche game, more and more people keep on finding out little niche and stick around. The game just keeps on growing, and CCP in return, have to grow with it. Once in a while, the increase in players outdistances the increase in staff. CCP will catch up, no big deal.
Last bone of contention; someone said that only old players who have been in from the start can be famous. Untrue. My evidence is a fella named Hans Roaming, who helped build up an alliance that went from a couple hundred guys, to over 1500 souls in a short time period, gained themselves a prime chunk of real estate, and mixed it up with the big boys and had a hell of a lot of fun in the process. Hans hasn't been around Eve all that long. Anyone can become famous in Eve, but like all things like that, it requires effort and skill. Like the Eve itself, nothing gets handed to you on a silver platter.

True! i respect you m8 you came up with alot of good point and half of them i did not see in eve and thank you for telling me this maybe sometime il try and give eve anouther shot ! maybe i had it all wrong even though i speent a full 14 days on it and some things you said about the corps fought for their space does make alot of sences on realaty if some one was just walking in my back garden i would do something about it . and throught you comment i rilly do see simelaraties between eve and rl a side of eve i didnt see b4 now and has made me think twice about giveing it a second shot ! thanks you m8 and once again i respect you! thank you!

Okay here's the deal. You guys are all arguing alot over this one review, which is interesting to watch, but I think a large number of you have forgotten the difference between 'fact' and 'opinion'
Not everybody likes the same thing. I like EVE, I hate RF Online. Some people are the opposite. So what? I find chess boring, but some people love it. I liked that movie Lady In The Water but alot of critics said it was bad.
You act like it's the end of the world because a review said the game is good. If you should learn anything from this thread, it's that some people love the game, some people hate it. That's called 'opinion'. A review is an opinion. Read the review (you did actually read the whole thing, right?). The reviewer gives reasons for why he said this or that was good or bad. That's the whole point. The review gave similar scores to the original review, so it's probably safe to say that they both had similar experiences.
I'm not sure what it is you're trying to get from this thread. Sure you can vent your frustration because you hate EVE, that's all well and good, but I don't think it's gonna change anything. If they change their review based on this thread then they will have no credibility. That's what they put the 'user rankings' in for. You can go and cast your vote for the game, but guess what, the ranking there is 8.3 still.
If you don't like the game, that's fine, but that doesn't mean EVE isn't a great game. It sounds to me like alot of you are just angry cause it got reviewed higher than your game did.

Your insult would've had much more of an impact if I actually played those types of games. I'm more into sandbox-nongrind-playerdriven economy/politics and open PvP games.

I see you havent played EVE before! A noob with a couple other noobs can wipe out someone who is a ganker no matter his level. Alot of gankers/pkers dont like this aspect. Nothing better than watching a PKer/RAt hanging out in his Dreadnaught only to watch him get poded by some noobs in cheap frigates! In-game its about respect. Unlike the powerguilds in other mmorpgs who dont respect regular players or noobs. They try it in EVE they dont stay powerful long!
Powergamers actually despise the game because no matter how L33t they think they are they are still vulnerable to podding and death! Some people who are powergamers get shattered when they watch that billion ISK ship explode in a ball of fire! Why they oppose this game. As do ISK/Gold farmers! Farmers have lost alot since all the player corps agreed to not allow certain ships/layouts in the game. Farmers now mainly mine security areas. To be discreet they make noob accounts (multi) and just drop ore in cargo containers to be picked up by a hauler!
These guys dont think the corps know, we do. We dont mind since the ISK production for them is severely decreased! Yes, there are players who dont like the game. But alot of us do. because honestly its about as fair as one can get. You are treated by how you treat others. If you think you are some L33T Ub3rt4rd youll be treated like one! And it isnt nice!
So play the game instead of making assumptions. One of the only games where players can take security and law into there hands litterally!
