As far as 'is Aventurine real or not?', I believe it is. The fact that someone has been there, seen the offices, seen some of the work done on the game, etc. Makes it a bit more believable.

No,I don't believe ddev hails from ToC at all. Again,11/12 posts have been targeted at this one post,criticising Darkfall's developers. Why make 11 posts out of 12 here about Darkfall?

Taking 5-6 years to produce a good mmorpg is nothing to worry about. But I am sure if they had realised it would take this long they wouldn't have started advertising so soon. I read Ashen Temper's blog the other day, and he mentioned how Shadowbane's biggest mistake was they started advertising it too soon. Darkfall have repeated that mistake... but they thought they'd be done in 2003 heh.
putting the Aventurine/Razorwax mystery aside, one thing i find amazing is how people find it surprising that it has taken 5+ years of development time allready, which only 3 years in proper development. I mean look at the scope of the game! It surpasses every computer game ever created and its made by "indie" company, developers that have never created an MMO... so is it really a wonder it takes more time than some EQ clone #3274545 made by a gaming company with millions to spend?
And before you say "there you go, they dont know shit about making games, it can never be done", well CCP was exactly in similar position, no experience, no money and yet they created EVE. Which IMO shows that lack of experince isnt necessarily a bad thing if you try to think something different. Whether you like EVE or not, you have to admit, its definetly 'out of the box'.

Why do someone has to do ANY kind of searching like you propose, if the "supposed company" doesnt want to reveal information? On the contrary, I suggest that you do this instead, since as it seems you can find a lot of "vital" information when needed, or when things seem "bad" (let me guess: some friend feed you with these )

Yes yes, we know it's breaking the same rules the UO broke. and hey, what did Origin know? Their game only survived 10 years at or near the top of the charts.

I mean I understand your concern,but the fact is if it hasn't been done we need to assume Aventurine are working on PRODUCT first,corporate sites later. (for now,Razorwax IS being associated with Darkfall so that's something) I mean this information wasn't unavailable,so anyone who REALLY wanted to contact them could find out and drop them a line.
Now today it is the 17 Aug 2006, and its still not released, so its taken a multi million doller/pound/euro (whatever) corporation just over 9 months for an expansion pack! This is with near limitless resources in the gamming world, with hundreds of people working right around the world, and its so far taken them over 9 months. So to say that this whole thing is crap because its taken 5 yrs so far is just plain stupid.
This to name just two sites that have estimates on what it costs to pay the people making the game, so I think saying this is a scam to make money is a little sliiy.
Also Im sure that E3 dont give any old bugger with a Vid and some pics a place, so how do you explain this?
The link above shows 36 MMO's including this one curenty at somes tage of development. So to say that just because YOU have not heard of it, or that YOU have not seen that much going on is a clear indication that it does not exist is completly unfounded. I have not heard of alot of games listed there, but it does not mean they are not there, or that any/all of them are fake!
And to sum it all up if you would really like to talk to the people at the heart of all this, but dont think you could do it in the forums, or by E-mail then why not write to them and ask what is going on.

These guys are gamers who ended up getting thogether and making their dream game. They are not the cororate suits counting beans in a big office. They are game geeks making an awsome game. Hard to tell where Tasos got the backing but thats where the money came into a project that the Norwegian doods were making in Claus's basement. Maybe his dad is a shipping tycoon? maybe its moey from goat milk? Does it really matter that much to you?
Codemasters was a big name and they totaly sucked with DE. All the money behind that D&L crap could not save it. A small no name company like Trubine made an awsome game as a indi dev house with no funding. Now that they have all the moey anyone could want the have turned out four crap games in a row.
