Why don't people want decay?

We never had this problem before they turned Decay off, in fact it was not a subject or EVEN A FUCKING ISSUE.

So when the brainchild devs decided to do this, they caused people to see what it was like without it.

For what it's worth the Devs should have never turned off Decay on housing, harvesters, items -- NOTHING.

This is one of the worst ideas that happend in the CU time and then more so in the NGE with no need to even really craft.

I know the NGE is for the easy/fast/kill/loot hurry and go type player but still, it does not hurt to have to work for somthing .....

I swear I do not think they could make the game any easier for people.

Free Jedi, no Decay and no loss penatly at all..  Boy that is risky, wow a challenge... gosh...

Because those that are left in the NGE want television, not a challange.

This is why this game is a failure.  Either have the NGE and Battlefront like combat or roll the friggin game back into the great sandbox it was!

SOE, you were right!  You can not please your old vets and your new NGE supportters.  One side is a nescessary loss for the game to move forward.

1- So if you are going the NGE route then get rid of crafting, entertaining, housing, and all other things that detract from battlefront like combat!

2- If you want to please your former customers and your vets, then just roll the friggin game back and fire who ever came up with this NGE idea!

It is that friggin easy!  You will lose more people with wishy washy development than with a sure direction for the future.

Why do they listen to the mouth breathing retards when it comes to SWG? Did LEC donate a bunch of money to an oganization that helps ADD people? WTF?

The no decay kits were bad enough, atleast with decay people would save their over powered weapons for a good fight. When the no decay kits came out I was running into over powered weapons in every PvP encounter.Waaayyy back when BH eye shot was the must have attack i had a helmet that was 98% across the board, because of decay i didnt use that helmet all the time, which i'm sure was just fine with some of the BH's that would usually run out of action spamming eye shot on me and barely take a sliver off my mind. Great items should come and go, I just think it's more fun that way. It was always an event when i retired one of my great weapons and put it up on the wall of my house or city cantina. I would tell stories to noobs about the epic battles i fought with each weapon... those were the days. Damn you SOE, damn you to hell!!!

Money is a game in MMO's.  The Player Economy as it briefly existed in Galaxies was a great game within their MMO.  Exploits, credit dupes, and Holocrons nuked that Player Economy, but instead of dismantling it further, I'd rather see the SOE team spending a little effort on reconstruction.  Well, one can always dream ....

I built my millions in Galaxies slowly.  Got some harvesters, figured out what architects, armorsmiths, and chefs wanted, and went for the good stuff.  Got a few regular clients, bought better harvesters, and cashed in during the Age of City Building.

And that was part-time ... I was also going through master rifles & pistols & CH on the same character.  And PvP'ing with friends even though I was anything but a great PvP build ... just to have fun shooting those damn rebs.

I enjoyed the money game.  I didnt' exploit, I didn't dupe, because then ... well hell, no more game.

So I always had money for armor & weapons ... I never blew millions on an Uber weapon-o-the-day, because .... well, the game had this nasty habit of nerfing or changing class requirements for weapons.  Glad I wasn't one of those poor weaponsmiths stuck with crates of uber FWG's that became worthless in the Great FWG Nerf!

I'm rambling all over here ... but decay was just part of the game to me.  I replaced stuff when I had to, and that was fun, but it was hardly a daily thing.  If I'd been grinding Krayts, maybe I went through stuff faster ... but y'know, I never wore my best armor or wore out my best weapon on a Krayt!  ffs, you've got plenty of inventory space to carry multiple weapons -- use it.

Put decay back in, un-nerf the economy and the money game.  Put one of the M's back in MMO.

Running a harvestor business on the side was my first serious business on Tempest.  We had a great player run resource site that listed spawns of the server and the resources.  If you where lazy you could get 3cpu for just about anything.  My first "newbie" harvestors where bought for about 1k each total of 10 harvestors.  I used the profits from running those crap harvestors to get up medium harvestors and then heavy harvestors.  I then used the soe auction forums to list more "expensive" resources and large stack runs I had.  Even with average or crappy resource spawns I could easily generate any amount of money I wanted.  This lead to my first crafter and my secondary alt account for resource harvesting and basic crafting such as a vehicle vendor I ran.

I briefly had a weaponsmith as my first ever character.  A wookie who I deleted.  I had an armorsmith on Tempest of no fame or significance.  The majority of my characters profitability came from tje "loot" business.  People paid absurd amounts of credits for tapes and aa's and components.  I was able to actually start a business buying aa's and ca's cheap and reselling them for a nice profit margin.  I also would by vetern rewards and resell them.  By the time I "retired" from swg I could easily generate about 3 million credits in 1 play session doing very little of anything.  I never let my account get up to 50 million credits although a few times I was pretty close to that.

Money in swg was not something hard to come by.  I always found anyone who bitched about decay or pricing to just be a lazy gamer.  The 1 item I adk'd was a shield.  I had sliced 90% composite 36% stun armor I wore and quiet frankly thought it was retarded people would spend something like 18 million credits for 1 adk when you could literally buy a crates of the 4 pieces of armor give them to a smuggler and for under 1 million credits have a sliced 85%+ resistant armor suit that would last you conseratively on pvp 3 months.  THe rest of the armor could be sold or used for non-pvp activities like grinding and really have spent "nothing" on the armor.

People are retards.  Decay was a non-factor if you did the math.  Only on shields and possibly really-really rare weapons would decay ever be an issue and even then with weapon nerfs I feared spending credits on any gun to absurd.  I used semi-rare mind dots in pvp and CM poison to stack them.  As a fencer/cm I would apply my mind dots.  Get your mind ticking at 600+ and avoid you.  I could take on full template/buffed jedi and win draw them.  In any event that is my pre-cu story.

Tempest owned and I loved the pre-cu tempest community.  It was small but organized and entertaining.

Factories have got (or should have) maintenance. Components and resources are use based, like chef foods. I don't know WTF a "Burrower" bot is though. (=

Yup decay is a good thing but once people get used to a system without decay they don't want it back. If SOE really want Traders to be relevant and want to have more to the economy then just loot they need all armor and weapons to decay simple as that so once they reach 0 they become useless and unrepairable. However if people repair before they reach 0 the item should recover its condition but not 100% so every repair reduces overall condition. Now I can see how come people will go that sucks man blah blah but we survived for 2 1/2 years like that before the CU and NGE and there was no uproar about it. I do how ever sympathise with those who have gone through hours getting a full suit of mando armor and maybe decay for said items should not exist.
