The forum members there are clearly not impressed with the latest screenshots of Vanguard. In fact, they're downright hostile in their disappointment with the screenshots.
I thought screenshots are supposed to impress people more anbd more as time goes by and as the public launch nears, but it seems the opposite is happening with this game.

oh noeees! the wow fanboi's at the FOH forums don't like vanguard! this is news to me.
you can post anything not wow on that forum not just vanguard and you will get the same response, they say the same stuff about AOC.
you could have the best graphics in your game and the wow fanboi's at the FOH forums would find something to complain about.
bottom line is no matter what the screeenshots look like those people will never have anything good to say about them because it isn't wow.
you might as well post those screenshots on the wow official forums and see what people think, i don't know why brad even goes there to market his game and provide screenshots just for them, makes no sense to me.
BTW if you want to talk about a bad community look no further than the FOH forums, you say vanguards community is bad? just read some of that garbage those posters say.
i think thats great some of those people hate vanguard, i wouldn't want to play a mmog with people that just attack each other with profanity to get their point across and call it a discussion board anyways.
the only forum that is worse is the official wow forums, but not that much worse.
You could offer the crew over at FOH 1 million dollars each if a single one of them could post something constructive or positive and all you would get is hate and bile.
Considering Brad said those shots were takin at Medium capacity, they aren't so bad...I'd be happy to get it lookin' like that on my machine.

BTW read most of the posts on that thread he posted, it firmly supports my theory that the FOH is a terrible community, far worse than the OVF could ever be. i mean after reading that garbage can you even begin to take them seriously?

First, let me say, that I have great respect for the FOH community. They have lots of players with deep, deep, deep experience in MMOs. They're knowledgeable and insightful. And their posts have style. If you want a Borgi community that strives for a Stepford Wives hive mind, then by all means, go visit the Vanguard forums.
Having said that, what's so interesting to me is this. Vanguard is being built to cater to elite guilds filled with players willing to dedicate 8 hours a days, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to hardcore, life-destroying raiding and to an environment that rewards group/raid play and punishes solo casual play mercilessly. So why does FOH *STILL* hate Vanguard so much? Is it because the graphics are rotten? The game is laggy? The combat mechanics are mind numbingly boring? Painful corpse runs? No GPS/radar maps? No centralized auction houses?
It's a puzzle wrapped in an enigma.

I don't see why you would expect anything more from a fan site. I don't think anyone would expect the New Kids on the Block fan club to do anything but exemplify an adolecent form of idolatry.
I will admit that the FOH is knowledgable about MMOs, in the sense that they play them, but they always play them in the exact same way as they play all other MMOs. That and they have about the biggest sandiest vag's on the entire interweb.
Anyways... everything I have read and I have seen about Vanguard tells me that the game isn't designed for Hardcore/Raiders, but allows it as an available playstyle. It'll be less raid intensive as WoW end game. But I know you won't accept that, and I know you won't care if I do give you links and explainations and reasons. You won't listen because you've already made up your mind, and arguing with a brick wall is fruitless. I know that even if you got a beta invite, you wouldn't try the game for yourself...but you would continue to tell everyone you meet on the street that Vanguard will be a terrible game.

You know that all the people that post at fohguild.org are not actually foh members don't you? In fact a majority on the posts on their forums are from people outside the guild.
The foh boards are pretty split on Vanguard, as obviously it's a pretty controversial game. You have pretty strong advocates on both sides of the issue, but of course you have those like Utnayan who are particularly vocal and pyschotic in their dissent.
Honestly I have a sneaking suspicion that even a lot of the nay-sayers on those boards will find their way to this game.
Second off Jonaku. Not every game is for everyone. Some people want harder games, some want easier games. Some like the graphic style, some don't. Just like Music or TV.
I listen to Moby, I guarentee you don't and never will. I watch house...enjoy it...alot of people don't like House.

Do you remember a game called Ultima Online? One of the first mmo's ever?
Game hit hard, was a big time success and still is somewhat. Do you know what it looked like around beta. It was a flamefest.
What about WoW, do you remember wow being in beta?
People were all saying "This game will NEVER make launch" everyone thought the graphics were too cartoonish, there was so much lag that you couldn't even MOVE in Stormwind, now look at wow.
The same thing has happened in EVERYSINGLE beta ever existed. DAOC, Shadowbane, CoH, guildwars, everquest...EQ2...etc...
And to be honest, the only game that the beta testers were actually correct about would have to be Dark and Light.
So as you see dude, every beta has people like you in it and people like FoH in it. It's rare to have a game, especially a high budget game, to drop like you think it will. The graphics in VG look awsome, just wait till they do Unreal Engine 3.

Anyway, the screenshots impress me, and my opinion is far more important to me than yours
actually, in wow beta, people broke nda to leak that the beta had fun and innovative gameplay. the buzz from beta was that the game was gonna rock.
the buzz from vanguard beta is a disaster, pure and unmitigated. sorta like dark and light.
And on the subject of harder games... On noes.. A game is hard! T_T Personally I love challange and don't want my hand held wile a play a game. Thats why I play almost all my games on hard. Except Ninja Gidan.... Thats hard enough on normal. I don't need to actually die when Ryu dies in game.

Heh... anyone else remember when Slide broke NDA to proove that the bullshit being thrown at VG by the FOH guys was just that....bullshit? I do...but then I was one of the few people who saw that thread before it was taken down.
It did some things right....others it didn't. I just don't see what people see when they act like WoW revolutionized the industry. They just took what worked with EQ, popularized it with a huge franchise name, and turned it bubble gum.
The only "innovations" over EQ they made was a workable 3rd person perspective and Instances....everything else is a direct copy or a downgrade. ....and well....I hate instancing.
