Let's see, Gotta look for a new bowcaster. Better check with Tuckiee, the weaponsmith, he usually has the best. Ok, bowcaster...Check.
Time to head to Coronet to get buffs. hmm 6 different docs, this one is offering to let me skip the line for an extra 20k. Nah, i'll just stand in this one and talk to the Ranger and Creature handler next to me. Buffs... Check.
Now for some XP. Heading to Dant MO start a group and get mind buffed. Holy Crap?!? Looks like Pickets are on the menu tonight. Sweet! Full group. "Ok, who's mission is closest?"... "This doc is really good with the heals." Well, looks like everyone has taken a beating this past hour, time to set up camp and have the Ent fix the mind wounds. Back at it... "Ok who chose the Jungle Voritors? Damnit. Next." XP for the Night...Check.
Ooh a tell from Eos, she's dancing in Anchorhead, guess the imps just staged a huge attack, smoke has cleared, rebs are victorious and she wants to buy me to join her for a drink. "Be there in a sec, Eos, gotta check my harvestors first, (great OQ water on Dath)."... "Hey Eos! Nice to see you old friend" Just shootin' the breeze...Check.
Well, better turn in for the night, it's 3:30am. After all, I can log into this anytime. /smile

...head to AH and see if I can join a mountain squill hunting group (no armor, no buffs, no food/spice).
Hmm, no one spamming for group. Time to turn on hunting call macro. People in group announce we have enough people, they don't want to split the reward too much. CH group pets to keep an eye on the HAM. Group members chat as we move from lair to lair. Ask to be taught when get enough xp for skill, someone in group teaches skill between lair spawns. Another person offers a weapon that I now qualify to use so I can do more damage. Hunt until group dwindles or lairs are complete.
Hang around AH in crowded cantina chatting with people and listening to/watching PvPers/overts along with anyone else who happens to be around.
Change to ent/tailor. Hang out in a very crowded cantina in "corolag" leveling while chatting with any ents or patrons who are ATK. Inform ents coming in that this group already has 20 members so they need to start a new group. Feel sorry for AFK ents because they are missing out on some good convos. Ask other ents for training and new instrument I need. Make an instrument for lower skilled ent or give away an instrument I no longer need. Look at the clock and realize how late it is getting, say goodnight to everyone and log.
But damn, you made me miss SWG again.

Talus ....
I'm grinding crafter to see just what you can make with this Chef stuff, but I'm also going on nightly hunting parties where everyone is grinding either pistol, carbine or rifle XP ... no armor no buffs, so if the wrong person draws the aggro of the currently targeted Tortur Bull, he's going to get stomped and we'll see him after he clones, heals, and runs back from town begging us for a WP of the group's current position in group chat.
I figure out that even some of these low-level foods & drinks I make can have some decent buff effects, and while killing time waiting for hunting parties to form, I grind crafting XP while tending bar at the Dearic Cantina. Get yer Ale, right here! I had "regular" customers. Dearic Cantina was populated every night! Guys from our parties would meet up in the cantina for an ale and some health-buff food and our nascent docs would buff us as well as they could, and off we'd go.
Them's the days.
Hmmm...Just got steamrolled by a Krayt and cloned at Mos Wherever. No time to get another buff, my group is fighting for looting rights, gotta get my butt back there with my uber damage dealing T21 so we can get the pearl.
Hop on the speeder and fly! Jump off, start firing like mad, knowing that he's gonna get pissed at me again and crunch me, again. But I do what I can for my group to get looting rights. He falls and all we loot are the stinking scales.
Oh well, guess we'll just have to find another.

I don't think many people realized how effective you could actually make that stuff. I used to make crates of high quality Spiced Tea and use it instead of expensive Brandy when I was low on cash (before inflation made everybody rich). By reducing the filling to low levels, it was VERY close to Brandy when you drank like 7 of them at once.

I didn't pursue chef as far as Brandy, went MR/MCH instead and just kept enough crafter for resource farming ... and exactly, once there was good Brandy available, I was rich enough to afford every crate I could get my hands on, and stopped using tea.

I renamed all of the foods I crafted. They were all based on Tatooine critters, since that was where my town was based. The only one I remember right now was "Basel's Bantha Brandy" instead of Vasarian Brandy.
Those were the goldendays of SWG - I will never forget them and hold that era as a standard of gaming addiction for myself.

NGE has made me a lot more productive.
Got tells if i could come and tank a krayt or two, sure. Couple of hours later. Back to my house to craft some stims and wound packs. Gets a tell from a jedi who is in hiding and need a buff couse he suspects that a BH is after him.
Relaxes in the mos eisly cantina and get my BF healed. logs for the nite. Gawd this game is great. Cant wait to log in tomorrow and live the greatest Star Wars saga ever told. My own......

Log onto my jedi, I think I logged off inside our private guild hall on the far corners of Dant....Good, our afk ent (mdancer/mmusician) is playing...gotta get full mind buffs while I log in my MDoc alt to buff me up...Great, I see a group has formed, 2-3 other guild jedi are 'grinding' as I can see 3 atst's in the guild hall...
I ask for invite in guildchat...soon a jedi arrives to invite me, and, all buffed up I quickly enlarge my radar screen and examine it closely before stepping out the door...food in tollbar ready..check. Low FS cost saber equiped, check. Gonna work on doublebladed IV today I think...or should I go for my healing tree......hmmm, 1500 heals would be nice in case a BH comes...or a group of em...
My guildies ask in guildchat why I am not on teamspeak...opps, I run back inside guild hall and alt tab to launch Teamspeak. "Hey folks...Any BH's come today?"..."ya, Jen got killed again and lost 2 weeks worth of experience points...but we got the BH though (Group TEF FTW!)." Crap.
I pull 2 10k quenker lairs and go to town, can't wait for spin attack 2!!. I am constantly watching my radar for blue dots.....after an hour or so someone yells in Teamspeak..."BLUE DOT!!!! BLUE DOT!!!!" I frantically look around....maybe he's coming for me!!!! My Bike is near the lair and I vault on it and I am off for the security of our little city ..ready to leap into the closest house. suddenly another shout...."FAlse Alarm, it's one of ours....we give him crap in guildchat for not announcing his arrival during his 6km ride from spaceport." We nervously go back to our grind..

ON ME!!! BH ON ME!!!!" ...... This is for real...should I help? I am still weak, but if there is only 1 BH maybe all of us can take em....Nope..."TWO ON ME!!!! TWO ON ME!!!!" RUN!!!! RUN!!!!!" I head for the safety of a house and wait inside. My guildy jedi makes it to the guild hall, 2 BH's hot on his heels.
Wow. That was close. BH's wait outside for almost an hour...trying to get jedi to come out. We stay hidden inside and wait it out. Eventually they're gone and we cautiously try it again. If they are really persistant some of us log in our alts and try and play them for a bit.
But eventually the lure of playing and grinding your jedi trees becomes too strong, eventually a persistant BH nails a kill....the jedi became too careless, and the BH hid inside the Jedi's unfinished mission lair and got him!! Man, NEVER go back to finish an unfinished mission!!! Everyone knows that!!

5PM log in.. get a tell from guild" SQUAL get your ass to the harvs they about to blow up put some money in it" /reply damn omw im in dathomir and shuttle just left. be there in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later after 2 shuttles. arrive on tatooine get on speeder and head for the guild harvesting field. and take care of harvestors stack up all ressources and put them on guild hall vedor
go to the mission terminal and take a jedi mision. droids are broken.. meh... goes to the bestine cantina to look for some goodies to buy/trade/heal mind fatique. i see the jedi im suposed to hun coincidently... whoa... i look for a doctor (i always carry a set of buffs on me even if im not a Mdocor) i find a master. good i pay him a bit extra to buff me right now with my own buffs.
the jedi does not have his robes on nor his title but i can target him. i look around and i see lots of imperial players and i say damn that jedi is dead! take out my pistol and eyeshoot him. lightsaber equiped and lighten!sudenly he gets a TEF and all imps turn around and hoster weapons at this jedi now in robes ready to fight.
instead of fighting about 50 imps he decides to force run outside just to his surprize to see an imp carabeener wating outside with an ATST factino pet.. gets KD and gets blasted to bits by us runiing out of the cantina a few moments later.
jedi managed to kill a few imps inthe process
9PM with my new 300k reward i decide to go out and buy something fancy for the guld hall i use as my house.on the way i find a krayt dragon team looking for memebrs. i get in. and we go out.. i have some tracking skills so i track the krayt and we have good time hunting. i didnt get the pearlt though.
11:30 AM contact my droid smith see if he has anymore search droids he does and leaves them in a vendor for a reduced price in a locked home (with me in guest list)12:15 have my new droids and check his other stuff he has on vendor. 1AM bases are active most of my guild and allied guilds are online and our rebel spy intel tells us that they are planning massive attack on tattoine bases. all imps show up in tat and prepare an abush at thier rendezvous location where they get overt. we got 4 20 memebr groups defending in case of a side attack and 3 20 memebr groups at ambush point. massive 100+people per side war goes on 1 or 2 jedi swords on each side.. lazershots everywhere docs draging people to safety. people bleading to deaths combat medic lobing poisons!!!

2:30 AM after making a trip the the doctor's office you go to cantina where 4 guilds are chatting and healing mind wounds an dfatigue watching dancers and musicians. in bestine cantina till 3:15 AM you send a guild chat "/guil ok guys i have to wake up in 2 hours to go to work so ill see you tomorow
i dont know if you noticed but that has alot of ROLEPLAY in it... even if its unwanted the game forces you to have some sort of roleplay. (apart frmo the grinding that if done right you could get master in about a week or so and there is where the game begins)

Ah, the nostalgia threads...
Is anyone else getting the sick little feeling in the pit of their stomach like you get when you think of a departed family member?
THESE are the kinds of threads that make it so that anyone who wasn't there just doesn't understand why we're all so ticked.
My best friend was one of the first Jedi to unlock on Shadowfire. I was at his house for our annual New Years RP party when the music played and the thunder crashed and he got to create his new character. I'll never forget the excitement we had for him...there's no way someone who just logged in for the first time and clicked 'Jedi' will ever know what that was like.
One of my favorite stories from him was a time he was out grinding Lightsaber experience on Sharnoff's in the wee hours of the morning. Another character came along and asked to join the group and fought alongside him and two other guildies for an hour or two...then at the exact opportune moment when my Jedi friend was at low HP the BH that had joined them shot him dead, jumped on his bike and rode off.
All he could do was tip his hat to someone with that kind of patience and skill. Like Shayde, that's what it SHOULD be. It gave the game excitement, meaning, and RP. In my friend's eye, that BH was a true pro, a worth adversary, and someone he would never forget...as close to a SWG 'Boba Fett' as one could ask for.
