At the beginning Silk Road is fun, but it doesn't stay that way. I use a pure Int character and at level 16 am just hoping the level 17 lightning spell is useful. Why? Because I really don't feel like grinding to level 30 within the next year just so I can kill enemies my level. I sometimes struggle with tigers because the game lags every time I attack something and they can kill me in ten hits easily. The character was fun at level 5, killing Water Ghosts with a then almighty Imbue spell, but now even with a good spell it can take 4 hits to kill something.

I used to get 2.5% exp from each monster my level. Now I get 0.25. It might not look like much at first glance, but that's 10x as long for one level. So far I've gotten enough skill points to support three skills, but not enough levels to increase them. I never found three hours training on weak creatures to gain a level very fun, and that would be disregarding the fact that I lag and die every 20%.

Of course, this is all if I can get on. It's next to impossible on the weekends. First it can't connect due to server traffic, then after two or three tries it disconnects me allowing me the pleasure of booting the game up again. Then if by some miracle i do get on lately after the long annoying loading screen the game shuts off anyway.

It's a fun game despite its problems. When i'm not yelling at the loading screen or slamming my fist into the moniter I have fun. But someone please tell me the Lion's Roar spell is good before I quit.

I do enjoy playing when I do get on though.

Oh guys, leveling is a part of any game, quit whining.  I like the fact you dont have to go looking for a group, class specific or sit around with down time and my time is really important to me, I work all day.  Last thing I want to do is log on and WAIT.  With my skills getting higher now and my pet I can go to different areas that give me lots of experience.  The rewards rock as well.  I played alot of games, specifically EQ, WoW and a few more, I spent tons of time in EQ.  It was a good time at its peak and I loved it but being able to have 2 options, SOLOING or grouping is great to me whenever I want.  I was also a hardcore raider but I think as EQ and the people that started with EQ got older we matured and dont have the time we once had.  I can melee, nuke and heal or run if I have to in Silkroad.  Yes, I still like it and leveling like mad.

What is nice about SR is the fact if you get sick of killing one too many of the same mobs,  theres always another options and mobs to  kill.  I meanit is  really a versatile game except the BOTTERS which is so annoying sometimes, the game rocks.  I am not starting any caravans nor joining a guild until I am at least 50, I think the higher you are the more successful you are in the game and its better to know where you are going in the caravan and learn the short cuts or best ways to go.  And remember its FREE and FUN.

My 2 cents for da month
