in Lineage 2

Lineage 2 is full of bots in which Ncsoft will not ban them but will ban you if you so much as talk about it on the forums. Many players here have spoken and this thread needs to be stickied so that new players will know exactly what to expect ( it is only fair ). Many games have bots but no where near the level of Lineage 2 and also to be treated not like a customer but just another dollar from the support team.

    I could understand if they at least attempted to control the problem but all they do is take it out on the legit players. If you mention the word "bot" on the forums, you are banned. I've reported hundreds of bots in my year with L2, I never really followed up on any but there never seemed to be a shortage.

    After the Franz launch its just totally inexcussible how they handled the situation. They never even checked on the areas but made sure they cleaned up the forums in a hurry. Banning everyone who made a thread.

    Meanwhile hundreds of bots roam freely throughout the gameworlds with no fear of NCSoft whatso ever.

    I very much hope NcSoft customer service reads these forums rather than being in lala land in the offical forums where even saying the word bot will somehow get you in trouble.

    I was really looking forward to C5, but unfortunately due to the practices of NCSoft regarding L2,where the BOTS come first and not the legit playerbase, I too have cancelled my sub, never to return.

    Even tho I'm fighting my way through the bots, this is totally inacceptable for such a big franchise. I could understand this in a free game. Its so sad to see such a good game ruined by third parties.

    I give them a week to resolve the problem.

    I petitioned because the bots were actually stopping me playing on the new server.  So, NCsoft banned me.

    I quit the game ages ago before the bots got even more out of hand. I was over at a friends the other night and oh my god... it is HORRIBLE how many bots they have. Almost as bad as WoW.

    I don't even play the game but I understand where you guys are comming from. I will support this noble cause because it's just not right. You're paying for this game and it's their job as a developer to do something about it. They won't ban everyone, you guys just need to show them whose boss .

    Excellent posts and thxs everyone...........lets keep this going untill Lin2 is put under the microscope,maybe even someone from the media would take interest :)  actually what I'm gonna do is contact my local news station and let them know what a major gaming company is doing ( err not doing ) and see if they can direct me to someone who may take interest . Maybe with the right nudge I can find someone who already has been looking to do this ,Doesnt hurt to try

    I also noticed players of SOE have a thread stickied " Angry at SOE thread ".    Well lets keep it up ( also tasteful) and keep the players informed after all we are the players and rely on eachother about our experiences as a paying customer abiding by the laws they so claim to to have you agree to

    I think L2 is dead on this site. This board on a good week, with a full moon if the stars where aligned just right, had maybe two dozen posters. Most of those have signed off here. The couple of people I did know who played also quit.

    Information/opinions will be hard to come by as most of the objective players are leaving. I know I will not be bothering with the quarterly reports and such anylonger. All that will be left are the currency buyers and the farmers. A perfect worlf for them.

    There are other games and the future is bright. I'm in 2 betas and subbed to DAoC. There are alot of good prospects in the near future.

    The trolls are at the gates here and the defenders have all left their post. Let the trolls have it. They can say what they like now.

    Yea, Lineage 2 has always been...special that way. lol It was also the first game I got badly griefed by farmers in...and that got turned around on them in a big way. Do a few searches on L2Walker if you don't believe the level of botting available for the game. I used Walker on a free server that *wanted* botting and couldn't believe how extensive it's options were, including for dealing with GMs (if they are even pretending to care anymore lol).

    such a shame things with L2 turned out that way, I used to play in the early days. 

    Tried: Vanguard, UO, Rappelz, Archlord, RF Online, SWG, WAR, Ryzom, Anarchy Online, AC, APB, STO, Perfect World, Black Prophecy...

    Played: EQ,EQII, Lineage, Lineage 2, GW, EVE Online, AoC, DoAC, iRO, AC2, WoW, SWTOR, Runes of Magic, Allods, Rift..

    2 accounts since retail for me and my wife are done. I have seen people be banned for training,petition and even attempting to scam adena bot bosses. New rules every chronicle seem to protect bots and their assets. I am done. UO has a new engine coming out, AOC and Vanguard soon will be what I will be looking forward to.

    WILL NEVER SIGN, i luv bots, i train them all the time and am rich because of it!(sorry to those fiew ive trained in the process of live players, really did not mean it and try to stay clear and if they are cool about it i give em their stuff back+ a lil xtra). anyways i will never /quit a game because of stuff that DOES NOT AFFECT my gameplay, ooh wow i have to search for a hunting spot, oohes noes if not bots they would blame azns or SOMEBODY, its how it works, oooh your not the best lets complain, /agree that ubis tech support is non existant and when it was existant it used an online translater to communicate with. BUT i love the game and if everyone is better then me cuz they bought money online, o whell, i know i can do the same but im a cheap a** and dont feel the need to waste any more money on the game. OH WELL i still can play just the same and have just as much fun if not more! this makes it soo gratifying when i get new stuff, if i just paid real money i would be dissapointed cuz i just spent 100+ dollars for something that is non existant and i can go around and brag to other lil kiddies. cool exact same in real life so im used to it!

    PS i will quit L2 when something better comes along but not because of what everyones complaining about. If you think you can do better go ahead and do it, sitting here and typing does not solve anything!

    I know it may be odd, but I will have to say that I find bots as a game feature. Not one that I use, but almost like a whole new quests. In L2 there is clan drama, raids, seiges, pvp, and bot killing!

    Sometimes I don't think this game would be quite as fun if I couldn't f*ck around with botters and make them do odd things, and have them come back and be really pissed. There is PvP and PvB (Player vs. Bot) action!

    Turned out? Theyve always had bots and farmers by the boatloads. Scratch that......aircraft carriers full. The only thing you could hope to do in the early days, was keep outleveling them so you didnt have to bother with em. Course rolling alts...would run into them soner or later.
