I think it has more to do with dilution in the MMO market. The volume of MMOs has diluted the paying player base to a level where the cost of production cannot be over come or just barely so which in turn greatly diminishes what comes next.
What allowed the yea or nay for me with EQ2 was corpse runs. I didnt enjoy that much...hrm...realism, in my gaming. Thats why I *play* games after all, while I *live* life. Just me though
Eh, I know enough people who go between them, myself included. As long as you can avoid becoming a fanboi, there isnt much of a problem, but indoctrination sets in with a lot.
PvE always has its limits with me, but these r my plans for conjunction/replacement for EQ2
Short term - BF2 and DDO
Long term - Vanguard or Warhammer.
