Its not like in swg where you have to be hardcore tradeskiller to make a usefull item. Most items are 2 wood + something = item But the very uber items you can craft need items that are a bit harder to get.

Well, foraging is a tradeskill thing in WOW like most mmorpgs. (herbalism, fishing etc) I dont know if hunters have tracking skill but i know that warlocks have or will have a skill that tracks demons.
