After hearing about this, I downloaded the game tonight. I'm glad people enjoy it and this news means it won't be going away anytime soon, but I just couldn't get into it. It's old and clunky. LOTRO came out around the same time…

The reason I don't play here is that I love to group almost all the time I play City. You get that on Homecoming and all the little zone events will have people doing them and they call people to come join on the LFG chat. That w…

The first game that came to mind for me. And it almost happened too! There was a World of Darkness MMO in the works, by CCP IIRC.

City of Heroes/Villains has been back for almost 2 years now! There are a number of private servers, of which the Homecoming cluster is by far the biggest. Talks with NCsoft over the game's long-term future have been in progress for some time now.

The last thing that a 10yo MMO with a tiny player base needs are tumultuous changes. They could have used that development time on much needed content, but instead decided to risk pissing off their die hard fans instead.
Steam's announcement is worded in that patented form of slimy corporate-speak for "we've figured out a way to charge you a 'convenience fee' to breath air!"
Yeah, Steam's library is perfectly fine as it is. Why do I get the distinct feeling that my game list is about to be over inundated with ads?
I bet that the vast majority of people are going to hate whatever this change actually is.

The Homecoming Team are in talks with NCsoft as we speak. The genie is completely out of the bottle regarding City of Heroes/Villains private servers- there is no going back at this point.

Maybe some special, super priviliged, scoffing at the outside world, elite jerks are running some mega secret COH2 server, and we will find out in six years time the game actually did exist. Crazy times man, anything could happen…
Everyone needs to give Champions Online a second chance. I'll be the first person to tell you that it's not as good as CoX was, but people do need to accepet it for what it does offer. It's really not a bad game.
For anyone that's wondering: Yes, there are still a few people that are playing this game. That said, Foxbat isn't one of the better events that CO runs.

Everyone completely forgetting that Neverwinter exists also? There's currently 2 D&D brand MMOs already. I'd be quite surprised to see another one.
It definitely feels like time for another attempt at a new D&D RPG, …

I pray its a single player RPG and has nothing to do with multiplayer, cash shops, or season passes.

Cryptic is one of my favorite MMO companies, but their crafting systems always suck. I strongly prefer the WoW & LotRO styles of crafting better.
