Really there were mismatched expectations. They charged money and promised this would be a defining D&D moment. Instead it felt like a basic ARPG geared for console. Sad to see a developer fold like this.
I wish there was a proper sequel instead of some shoe-horned cash grab of taking some assets and trying to make the level cap not break the start of Baldur's Gate 2. It looks more like a mod.
This is awesome! Why wouldn't people want characters to have the option to be ported over to a new game? Remake the same wizard from scratch all the time, or bring it across? Yes please.
