First thing you need to do is make sure that AMD CPU will actually work with your board. Look into what model your motherboard is and make sure it supports the same Socket CPU as that AMD CPU. Intel boards will not work with AMD CPU's and vice-versa…

Nevermind, issue solved... Kinda stupid how you have to go out of the game / launcher in order to even change the resolution. For anyone else who was struggling with this also, go into your Game folder and open the ffxivconfig.exe .
