Accounts have only been deleted once, I think it was back in 2001 or 2002, but there are no plans to delete inactive accounts. Having recently bought full rights to the game back from MS, I think Turbine are wanting to encourage people to come back …

Actually, you can log one account into two servers at the same time, on different PCs. I've been playing on LC and WE simultaneously on the same account (Ok, one was just a tradebot, but still, the account was logged on).
