I think your best bet is with Rubies of Eventide. Its the closest your going to come to what your asking for out of a free game.

You should check out nox for a diablo 2 replacement. Its fairly old but the graphics are around the same as Diablo 2. It has good hack and slash gameplay that should keep you occupied for a while.
