Better is a relative word and that's why I didn't use it. In all honesty, I don't think, even now with the current condition of these boards, that there is a single better web site/forum about MMO's around. It's still top notch as far as I'm concerned. And what I wrote there wasn't completely fair because it's just my experience from varying forums that I go to and see what people say about the forums here. I didn't mean it as a comparison though, so please don't take it like that, I know of much much worse forums around then this place.

As inquisitive as I am then, I guess my next question would be, do the negative attitudes about mmorpg.com come from posters who are proud and elitest about there site? OR would you say there views arent biased and are based on the "trolls and flamebait'ers" that roam these boards?

From what I've seen, and as always take this with a grain of salt because it's just one persons experience of course, but it mostly comes from some fairly level headed people. Are many of them elitists? Absolutely no doubt, heck I can get all sorts of elitism going when I'm defending mmorpg.com and I will, I'll defend this site for it's quality people even if there's only 5 of them left :P.
But overall, the sense that I get is that on alot of different forums this community is viewed by many to be childish and immature and I've even seen people who say they don't want to post here because they just know they'll get flamed, harped on, whatever.
It's hard to say if it's biased or not, I'm sure alot of is. I know alot of the girls from gamergirlz (another forums I used to go to quite a bit) never wanted to post because they saw and read reactions that they just didn't want to up with.

Now so many of those posters are gone because really, what's the point of conversing with people if they're only interested in getting what they need out and then holding their hands over their ears yelling: "LALALALA!!!". How can expect more either? The people who started the community have all but left us, what happens to a community when it's leader stop showing passion for what got you there in the first place? Have you ever read what other gaming forum community's think of the community here at a mmorpg.com? We're a joke to them, they find it disturbing and child-like. People will always give out their oppinions and it's certainly not my place to say what is a good or bad oppinion and that what I love about forum community's anyways. Sure I like it when I meet someone with similar points of view, but I love learning new things, I love seeing and trying to understand someone's oppinion. I guess all I really know is that it's getting harder and harder to do that here now.

In actual fact, I believe that WoW, while injecting our beloved genre with a lot of money, interest and new blood, has also injected our genre with hordes (pun) of spastic kids with little experience with games whose only real goal is to denegrate any game that has fewer than 5 million subs.
To Anofalye, give me a break with your Vanguard community comment. You neutral? BAH I say! You pee on any game except, what, CoV? Trolling the Vanguard forums every frikkin day asking for a non-raiding server like a lunatic and you expect not to draw any fire from the already beleagered (sp?) Vanguard fans? lol
