i beta tested this game for a month and totally liked the game. but then i didn't buy it... i am thinking about starting to play it now since the price is a lot cheaper...
does anyone know whether i can "survive" in the game if i start now? (looking for people who started this year to answer my question) when i was beta testing the game i mainly earn isk by killing players and take their stuff basically playing bad people... i doubt i can do that now since everyone has a few hundred million isk and such...
any honest opion will help i play quite a lot by the way

No, you will never be able to catch up. But if you take your learning skills high, and get some implants you could be competitive in under a year.
You would still be able to have fun, but there is a big differnece between 5m and 11m skill points.
You can do just fine. I started playing a month or so ago and I have been having a blast. I might not have a BattleShip or anything, but I am enjoying every aspect of the game. I have two cruisers(one for mining, one to hunt with), several frigs I don't use anymore, have bought several ammo blueprints so I dont have to run around buying ammo and have about 750k skill points. I have been doing very well and you can do the same. Just don't be expecting to be fighting in any big PvP battles in 0.0 space for at least 8 months. But most of all join a well established corp that will help you get your feet on the ground. Don't join a start up corp because the game will become more of a hassle then fun.

I picked it up about 4 weeks ago also. Sure I'll never "catch" up, but that's a pretty poor attitude.
Eve is designed pretty well to help accommodate newer players and older once, you can get a number of skills to level 4, in the time it takes to get one from 4 to 5. The difference? 5%. So while you may never be the "best" you'll be able to compete.
If you enjoy your gametime what difference does it make what other people do?
Be sure to check over the Eve message boards, many have posted about PKing others in empire space, since that's what it sounds like you want to do.

Achievers realise that killers as a concept are necessary in order to make achievement meaningful and worthwhile (there being no way to "lose" the game if any fool can "win" just by plodding slowly unchallenged). -bartle
