I don't even care about beta anymore. I just want the game. I heard the creaters of the game talking about how they had to fix the game two years ago. Saying how they had to fix the game for losers who would pick dum powers. I don't care if they picked the wrong powers thats them. If you picked all defensive powers that is your fault. Not the developers. It seems to me the more changes they make the more problem there are. No disrespect for the developers but how hard can it be to fix the problems with the game. You must know all the problems eith the game by now. so shut down the beta. so posting on the message boards at put those people to work. And in bet with all your staff you can have those problems fixed in a week or so. And i know the stradegy guide for the game must be done. So could you at least ship those. Come on by the time this game comes out the loyal fan base is going to be gone. please just make the game ready for shiping please !!!!!!! 
I have been patience with this game for 4 years. I can tell you the story about Coh from begining to end. I know every about this game you can know. I got 15 off my closest hyped about this game. and four are already playing the game. I don't care about an expansion pack. Why would you be concerned about an expansion pack when the game hasn't come out yet. I believe that cryptic has it's priorites mixed up. For goodness sakes the game hasn't even come out yet. And you are talking about and expansion pack. I believe if maybe you put those people working on the expansion pack and start them to work on beta the game might be done. And if they say the are going to push back the release date of the game i am going to

The company has to pay all its employees this whole time the game is in development. Dont you think they would release the game as soon as its ready? Otherwise they are paying their staff with no money coming in, for nothing. If they release the game with tons of bugs, everyone will leave, the game will get a bad rep and you end up with a game like SWG. I can tell you have no idea how much code there is for a game like this. Its literally miles of code, and it has to be gone through manually. After 4 years of waiting or whatever you said, another month or so wont hurt.
If its true that when you drop a cat it lands on its feet or if you drop toast it lands butter-side down... what happens if you strap toast to a cats back and drop it?

If you really knew about every aspect of the game youd know the rebuild was more to keep from min/maxing and to make balancing easier on the dev.

You might think that 2 and a half months of beta with more than 1000 people is enough testing. I think youd find that not many that actually have to release a game would be in agreement.
Any game planning on doing expansions needs to plan them in advance.What I am saying is that if you had time to create an expansion pack i believe you have time to fix the game. and if you don't have the staff power stop posting on the site and fix the game. I'll rather the game be fix than a new message be posted on the CoH home page everyday. You are telling me you have time to create a character walk through and a whole back story to these characters but not fix the game. and regarding the expansion pack i don't really care if the expansion comes out 1 or 2 years after the games release. i just want the game.
So what i am saying is that they would rather give us pointless updates then work on the game. And by the time the pre-orders be let in would be one week before the open beta. And i heard you would ownly play beta on certain days like wednesday and the weekends. so that means beacuse i bought the pre-order disc i could ownly 3 days before anyone else can be let in. And everything on the beta can be found on the Coh site or on a link. so they are really giving me nothing. except a prestiage power and a reserved name and that is it. and in my book thats worthless. I am feeling like i have been used by Cryptic. and i feel because of my loyalty to them i haved earned more then this from them
YEAH release a buggy game that is poorly balanced, has no depth and is unfun to play!
This guy wants it and he doesn't care if it isn't ready! Don't get upset when he is the first to freak out that the game didn't live up to his expectations and wants his money back! He can't wait damnit!
Every game has bugs. Even EQ has bugs and its been out for 5 years, and they have prolly the largest staff of all the MMORPGs. Sheesh, I think Im glad you didnt get into beta. If you think you can do better, quit posting here, go to school and become a programmer, get a job with NCsoft and knock yourself out, otherwise quit complaining.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

Well I have to agree with Lord on one point COH outside of being innovative in Genre. Really doesn't show me much. The game seems a little hollow to me. Oustanding graphics from what I have seem and the devs are boasting "exciting" gameplay. Im sure this title will initially wow its long time followers and new fans equally but I just don't see the staying power behind this game. If anyone here knows what long term appeal COH will have let me know.

I feel your pain Stormrage, but I can't imagine how you've had it. I just heard about CoH on march 1 and suprisingly enough I sign up to MMORPG.com 3 days later.
From what you say and what others are saying and CoH, its true the game should have released before April, even before 2004. Expansion packs should be created after a game is released, as to reflect the needs of the players(ppl paying to play) not the beta testers(free). Thats the only way an expansion will met the needs of the game.
Not to woory the expansion will prolly get delayed in order to meet the wants of the players. Danger Room, villians, capes/cowls, power stealing, Hero HQs, wall crawling, and more stuff the beta tester may not have thought of.
Stormrage don't hit me when I say this but wait a little longer, we all have to wait.....

not trying to be a fanboy (i hate those freeks), but the expansion pack is going to put things into the game that were initally planed for the launch and cut out because of deadlines to release. so some work was already done on most all the stuff in the expansion pack. btw all games do this they dream big and then reality sets in (ie the finance company) and they cut some things out to relase sooner. Also there is a limit to how many programers can be assinged to code one thing. you cant have 15 guys coding the same page of code its the too many cooks syndrome. If the game is bad at release believe i will be first in line to complain but for now i'm gonna wait in see

I can only speak for myself, but the game seems like a departure from the norm. Granted, the no PvP is the center of a lot of controversy, but it doesn't bother me. I'm not a huge comic fan, either... I just find it better then being forced to speak bastardized old english, and living in fear of being killed by a rabbit.
Who knows.

Well, I am willing to wait, although I admit I did log in everyday while the beta comp was open to improve my chance of getting in, heh. Cos I really really wanted to try it out. I currently play horizons, which is in a pretty much terminal state now cos it was released too early, (i assume their funding dried up). And the reason I am looking for a new MMORPG is cos the premature release killed Hz, so I sa wait till its a good game.
I also am not sure what the staying power of CoH will be for me, and I think it really depends on me being able to find other weirdos to group with, I am an RPer <shudder> and I can really see a huge possibility for RP in this game, as each character could be so unique, I mean in games like EQ basically every person in a class at a certain lvl was the same as every other, with this they really seem to be trying to make it evolve and have a story, for who you are and why, and with the setting being so much closer to real life, (i know there are no superheroes in RL but at least CoH isn't overun by elves) I think people could get into it alot more, get into character, have fun. Unlike most MMORPGs where people go out, supposedly playing an elf or whatever but basically just chat about movies and TV and how much their job sux etc, I think that CoH will be much more imersive, it may mainly apeal to people who read comic books, but then who can honestly say they never read a single comic or watched a single episode of superman when they were growing up?

Like someone said before, they made some of the original content into an expansion rather than release a ton of stuff at the beginning, thereby reducing some of the need for bug troubleshooting etc. So what? Who cares? Im glad they did it, it just means the game is released that much sooner.
