    1) MUO doesn't have the same publisher as CoH/V - Microsoft Games is publishing MUO; NCsoft publishes CoH/V.

    2) I severely doubt that Inventions is a "beta-test" for MUO. If anything, I expect they've gone back to the drawing board for a lot of the MUO systems. And it's the same guys upstairs who developed CoH/V that is developing MUO - Statesman is in charge of both games.

    1) Yep. Microsoft (as per some rumors) is throwning at cryptic waaaay more money than cryptic had for COH when they were developing it. I hope it shows when MUO comes out.

    2) Errrrr, the fact that Statesman is in charge again doesn't fill me with hope for MUO, but I'm keeping an open mind. Or at least trying to. I still remember being dumbfounded when I learned that he was soooo suprised that the uber-grind that is prestige+bases was not embraced with open arms by the playerbase. I heard that and was like, "wtf is this guy smoking? has he not been playing the same game as the rest of us for the past 2 years?"

Yep, as much as Cryptic says they like to accept raw talent(i.e. little to no MMO experience), I can't help but think they have learned many valuable lessons.  Some of which you can read about on this site and the official CoX forums.  They definitely didn't do a bad job with CoX as it stood out among many competitors.  They also have a better technology starting point so I can't wait to see what they do.

The problem has always been with the players, the grind problem that is.

When people go into mmorpgs these days they no longer want to have fun playing the game.  But rather they chase carrots dangling in front of them.  "the grind" has never been a problem with coh.  The problem was people wanting the carrot and don't give a shit about the treadmill.

    CoH is a mmorpg meant to be played, wheither your 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50

If you dont like the game at 25, you wont like the game at 50.  Simply because this game isnt designed for the whole "level to 50 and the game begins."

Yet people assume mmorpg=max level is the best.  so they grind and grind and it ruins the game for them.

And as far as it goes, coh is pretty easy to level, went from 48-50 on my main in like 2 days, playing maybe 8 hours a day, thats not that bad.

what do you want, to be level 50 in a week?

Bladin - This is not true for me.  I have two level 50 characters in CoX and I know that there is nothing to do at 50.  The reason it became a grind for me after ED is that it killed the rate of character advancement.  When leveling up means that you get enhancement slots that are of no real use to you, then it is like not having leveled up at all.  You don't see your character change or grow, and that is what leveling up means to me.

I've said that probably ten times in this thread, but I don't think people are reading it.  Instead, I come back ever now and again and find tangents. . .   like this one.

Whatever, I'll look again after Issue 9.

I would also disagree with Bladin.  Pre-ED, I found my post 45 and finally 50 Fire tank much more fun as I was finally taking on huge mobs, either solo or with my SG.  For me to finally take on 30 +2 Nemesis at one time felt like I had achieved the pinnacle(hehe, that's the server too) of my character.  With about 3-5 Inspirations, I could survive that onslaught long enough to take them out.  50 was in fact what I had been trying to achieve in the game.  I was relaxing playing that mission over and over, and making a few visits to the Shadow Shard or RCS.  Though people said tanks were god-like, I had never herded an entire map nor could I and I was never able to go afk in my Nemesis mission and I defnitiely could NEVER do these feats before level 40.

I felt I had earned my Performance level post 45 and it was stripped with ED.

Just because you think it is ALL about the journey, doesn't mean the game plays the same for everyone else.   You are not me, you are not dink so please quit telling us how to play this game and even more stop telling us how to ENJOY it.  That is just as a close-minded approach as those you are accusing.

You make a fine point tute but that comes back to what i said in an earlier post, and don't go slammin the people that are tring to keep things in the game the same. Hell you said it yourself, at one point they concidered fire tanks to be gods, when you knew they weren't, then some little roddent saw you beat your 30 plus nemesis and complained. all because you played your toon and knew what you were doing. look as far as the content as gose when you hit 50, i think there is still plenty to do, i have 3 50's and i play them all STILL, as well as playing my lower toons.

And you still didn't answer his question,"What do you want, to be level 50 in a week?"  Me? hell no i enjoy the build up.

Hey, if they are slamming MY game(gameplay), then I have no qualms about slamming theirs(though that is kind of hard to do now since that gameplay no longer exists  ).  I was not aware of the question so of course I did not answer it since I didn't read the whole thread.  Would I want a 50 in a week?  Sure.  I do play my 50s(5 now) more than my lowbies.

What do you want, level 50 obtainable after only 5 years?

Just making a point about asking questions on the EXTREME side that you force your detractors to answer as you want or be viewed in an unfavorable light.
