It's been a long time since we've heard anything about Thrones of Chaos are they still trying to get that game on it's feet? I still think it will never be released due to it's dark history..but what do I know?
Loudant sent out emails that a Developer chat with the fans will happen at Stratics.com. Four days later, the thread is deleted and some people ask questions. Everyone starts getting angry, and Loudant just came in and said that they didn't wanna do it and didn't give any reasons. Keep in mind that the beta was suppose to happen around this time, and he just didn't say anything about it. And he has been quiet, and for the past two months he has just came in and said "Something big will be happening very soon blah blah blah". And then Draakan, the mod, just says "Well I guess the beta isn't happening, and I think the game will be released Q2 2007", when the game would originally going to be released Q1.
So in other words, all who said this game was vaporware, you were right. This game will never see the light of day. Never.

The engine is complete trash as well, the graphics are poor at best and from what I saw at Mourning, it was as buggy as they come. This isn't a radical, revolutionary engine, it's a old engine with 1999 graphics. This game is vaporware and the company behind it is shadowy at best. Mabye those guys at LoudAnt should have put more effort into building a game instead of spamming and trying to threaten outspoken critics.
This could have been the reason it was cancelled, critics were going to ask real questions instead of softballs-
It supposibly being sold to another "company". My take on it: it is a ring of lies and fake/just starting companies that will never give it the attention and dedication it needs. Vaporware, boys and girls.

I will share with you what I shared with Maphusio, a member of this community, when he sent me an email inquiring about the chat:
Quote:
The developer chat was cancelled due to a network issue. We attempted to assist with rescheduling the chat for Loud Ant, however they decided to discuss the matter internally to determine their next step and go from there.
It is our understanding that Loud Ant will advise its community of the cancellation, and therefore we have not produced anything. For that, I apologize. It is our goal to keep our readers informed. In this instance, however, we were advised it would be handled and there was nothing further required from us. My guess is that the folks at Loud Ant are hoping to share the news along with information on a rescheduling of the chat.
I am confident that this chat will be rescheduled in order for the community to participate in one of the greatest aspects of Developer/Community relations, as the folks at Loud Ant are dedicated to their community.
Therefore, there is no sinister or underlying issue. A scheduling conflict did occur, yet there was also a network issue on our end. Basically, it all came down to bad timing.
I hope this sheds some light and alleviates any concerns this has caused.

Tell ya what, Iltorque. You go get Colton ( I'm sure you have ways of persuading him) to come here and refute anything I've posted with solid fact and evidence, not "something is coming around the corner", and then talk to me. Right now, you're an ineffectual but highly zealous fanboi who can't stand that the "propaganda" put out by Colton is starting to unravel and things that were said all along are starting to come true.
Your hero hasn't been here to call me wrong on anything in the "We hate ToC" thread, because he can't. I and others here have made him, and the rest of you, look like asses everytime you've come here. Only exception in your case, is that you do the ass making all on your own. By the way, thanks for the personal attack. It makes things easier.
Oh, and why the link to my posts on the DnL boards? Did you forget which piece of shit you were defending this week? Perhaps you should send ORLY or Identity51, since you've blown your current accounts credibility.
In case you don't remember, Colton said from the beginning that LoudAssSoftware was going to finish developing and release the game. Yet, here they are, selling it. You know why? Because, except for one dev that has been shown to the public, LoudAssSoftware is a bunch of hacks. I've seen the work they've done to the game, at least the screenshots/models that they've posted and claimed as theirs, and they are third-rate garbage for something that's supposed to be "the next big mmorpg".
They are selling the game because, in my opinion, Colton had that as his intention all along. I'm sure he can guarantee all the "promises" he made to the old pre-order people and new people as well when the game is no longer in his control, can't he? But then, that really won't be his concern anymore, will it?
Please, go back to your nice, safe fantasy wonderland you seem to have found in LoudAssLand, and leave the people here in the real world alone.
The funniest part of all is that Mr. Adam McCall was milking me for ideas AND staff members for that god forsaken project. Originally he was looking to make an MMO, claimed he could get funding for it no problem as he already owns a business, and needed a lead designer. I jumped in and brought about 4 people onto the small staff we were assembling. Design documents were started, yet nothing was getting done and VERY little came from him. He supplied some generic input, but I supplied most of the truely unique things.
He disappears for about 2 months and comes back and says he's ready to keep working on the game, but he wanted us to consider working on a remake of Mourning. Said that a company he'd been consulting for was buying the rights to the entire game not just the engine. I resisted, because the engine is pure shit and incomplete. So, he says we'll keep working on the design docs for the game we were planning. Little did I know LoudAnt apparently contracted the company that was titled "Nuanced Entertainment" (which I named and Adam trademarked) to work on a game called "Thrones of Chaos". Someone on MMORPG.com linked it about 3 months ago and I looked it up.
For a while I ignored it because it wasn't a big deal. Since I wanted nothing to do with that project I didn't really see how it would pertain to me. Once MMORPG.com started to report the dealing with Mr. McCall and LoudAnt buying out Nuanced Entertainment I immediately became concerned. The more I looked into the game mechanics that were being added to Thrones of Chaos, the more I realized they were ripped directly from the design documents for the game I was working on that was tentatively titled "Draclian Signus". All attempts at contacting Colton Burgess were met with clueless employees who "could not put me in contact with the CEO" and my emails went unanswered.
So, while some of my hard work has been ripped off, I've known from day 1 that remaking Mourning would be a waste of time and money. Let this be a lesson to potential game makers out there: ALWAYS SIGN A CONTRACT WHEN DESIGNING A GAME AND COPYRIGHT YOUR WORK BEFORE PRESENTING IT.

It is amusing how much you hate this game yet spend so much time putting it down. It was never my intention to sell the game when i picked up the project. The engine was the main asset that I was after. The engine has had a major overhaul and is close to being done.
At the same time we were working on the engine, we were finishing the game. We were approached with an offer for the game, and that is something I cant get into specifics about. That is really all there is to it.
We are not taking anyone's money, so I am not sure what your beef is as this was you main concern for the last year. It seems as if you are trying to find an angle in which we are some how scamming people. This has never materialized so now you are frustrated and trying to find anything to put down a company you know nothing about.
Yes, it is true that I was discussing it because at first Adam McCall was talking about getting the license to the entire Mourning game...for free. The benefit of using that would have been to take the storyline they had, scrap the gameplay and start from the ground up again. However after spending an extensive amount of time studying the engine (don't ask how I got it), I found that it would be impossible for a small development team to improve it enough to make it viable. Thus I gave up on that idea and continued on my own.
Since then, I've gone ahead and continued working on my design documents, scrapped the meeting that was supposed to be set up by Mr. McCall for me to meet with Colton Burgess (as supposedly he has strong ties to NC Soft and as such could likely find a way to get funding) and am now saving up to copyright every single page I've done on it so I can attempt to get the game made without fear of IP theft.
In any case, steer clear of this company, their games, THIS game (Thrones of Chaos) and those who are in the upper management ranks at LoudAnt.

I have no problem answering non flamer questions. I can't say I blame you for trying to sell the game, it's pretty obvious that it was going to crash and burn anyway. I just can't believe that someone would be willing to buy a project that has such a tainted history. You guys have made a lot of promises to the people who were ripped off by the original Mourning team, and now you're looking to sell? If this doesn't shut the hardcore fanbois up I don't know what will.

The engine was always promising as it could be upgraded relatively easily. That was the main objective when purchasing the assets. The game was also worked on a ton at the same time. However, we are not going to release a game which isnt done yet. It is highly likely Loud Ant wont be the company releasing the game but the new company which is buying it. We will have to see.

*Sigh* Yes, but there is no sense of acomplishment when they do all the work for you
He couldn't even get details right. I NEVER wear my top-hat indoors
Either way it seems to back up these stories:

At the same time we were working on the engine, we were finishing the game. We were approached with an offer for the game, and that is something I cant get into specifics about. That is really all there is to it.
We are not taking anyone's money, so I am not sure what your beef is as this was you main concern for the last year. It seems as if you are trying to find an angle in which we are some how scamming people. This has never materialized so now you are frustrated and trying to find anything to put down a company you know nothing about.
I have no problem answering non flamer questions.

I sleep with a pillow under my gun.
