What are your phobias?

There are 2 things that make me panic and become irrational.

1. The ocean, if I ever get stranded at sea, I think I'll panic myself into a heart attack. I can't stand being in a medium where I cannot see below me, there's an infinite amount of space and an infinite amount of thing that can be below me and around me and I can't ever see it. Jaws scared the crap out of me, I pretty much won't swim in the ocean or go in past my waste.

2. Spiders. They just look so menacing, i become irrationally paranoid and all messed up if I see one in my apartment, same applies for centipedes and other screwed up things. I think I can get over this one, I need to just take some time. I saw this show where some chick was deathly afraid of spiders and she was coached out of it and they made her do this exercise of going into a tent that had 5 tarantulas in it and bringing them out 1 by 1.

I don't think i'll be at that stage but I don't want to freak out and run calling my self Nancy when I see one.

I love reptiles, so they don't scare me, i like them. I pretty much dislike all insects, bees/wasps/ants (annoying) are relatively okay, but the spiders are the ones that scare the living crap out of me. It's weird that my brothers and I are all scared of spiders. I swaer if i ever had a loaded gun in my apartment and i saw a large spider, i'd shoot it for sure.

All phobias can be cured in step-by-step ways like that. As for me, I don't have a large enough fear of anything for it to really be called a phobia. I don't like heights, but it's bearable.

    Hmmmm

I'm not scared of Water But I'm afraid of drowning....

I'm afraid of anything with more than 4 legs pretty much...

And heights make my but clench up like a deathgrip...

But when I say I'm afriad ... Its not really a phobia as I handle my fears really well and for the most part i can swim into the deep.... not act like a little girl around spiders and dangle over a balcony without breaking down and crying...

I was in the Navy for 6 years and my biggest fear was the ship sinking in the middle of the ocean.  I can swim like a fish, but being in the water with a depth of a few miles, spooked me.

I also believe I have a ghost in my house.  I live alone and have heard some strange things in the middle of the night.  I would lay in bed hearing them, then jump up and flip all the lights on and the noises would go away.  Its like footsteps on my carpet.  My dog sleeps next to me and hears them to, because she would pop her head up and look in that direction.  Thats even spookier.  That shit makes my skin crawl.

The fact that the dog hears it too it really freaky.   Does the house have a long history?

Thats why it scares me.  When Chloe' looks up, She is part Bloodhond and Bassett with one helluva nose and hearing. I know there is something.  The house is only 30 yrs old, but it was built in area where a few battles were fought during the Civil war.  I am in North Florida, not too far from the Georgia line.  I have also seen doors open by themselves with no one around and all the windows shut, even my kids saw it.  They are freaked out over that.

I am kinda used to it by now.  A couple of times, my dog woke me up by jumping over me to bolt out the door looking for it.  Weird

EDIT:  I have thought about a ouija board.  My GF wont do it with me.  She is a Hardcore Christian and thinks it's the devil and demons..LOL

I wonder if I can do it myself?

This one might sound a bit weird, but when I get a pillow over my head I completley freak out. When my friends do it for a joke or something I totally freak out on them and almost want to kill them

OMG.  I totally know what you're talking about.

I used to live in this house with two other roommates and I swear to God this is no lie.  We would go to bed at night and lock all the doors and stuff, but when we would get up in the morning either the back door, front door, or garage door would be open.  We locked all three of those doors.  I guess I should say it didn't happen every night, but probably about twice a month.

Now here's the really weird thing.  When it happened with the back door and front door we got kind of freaked because we thought that someone was coming in our house at night.  But how can that explain the garage door (I'm talking about the door from the house to go into the garage)?  And when it happened to the garage door one of my roommates decided that maybe if someone was coming into the back or front door they may be coming in, opening the garage door, and then locking the back or front door as they go back out.  So he put tape on the cracks to all 3 of the doors.  The next night that it happened, we found the garage door opened and the tape over the cracks on the front and back doors was still there, just like we left it!!!

We only lived there for a year.  And the whole time we were wising we had video cameras to tape the doors, but we never got one.  It sure did freak us out though.

We did hear sounds in that house at night too.  Ours came from everywhere though.  I mean, like you couldn't place where the sound was coming from because it sounded like it was coming from all the corners of the place at the same time.

Hehe, we used to joke and say it was probably Radon or something.

For me it's definitly wasps, i stepped on a nest when i was like 10 yo, i get paniky when they start flying around me but apart from those i dont mind insects at all, if i find a spider, a cockroach or a cricket indoor i put it outside with my bare hands.

    1. Major surgery, I am terrified of being in the hospital with a serious injury that required open heart surgery or something like that.

    2. Extreme heights, I cant even go on most balcanys to look down and my grandparents live on the 18th floor of a building and if I go look over the side I almost get vertigo.

I also dont care for bees n wasps to much but not the point of panic and I also hope to overcome my fears because I might have to face them one day.

    Three things:

1.) Snakes, I'm not that afraid of them, I've even held them, but they still creep me out.

2.) Spiders, I hate spiders.  HATE.  They scare the piss out of me.  The thought of one biting me makes me shudder.

3.) Things going near my eyes, expecially things that are pointy, it freaks me out.

    Thats all really.

No "phobias" but I can stand the idea of coming face to face with glowing red eyes...it is totally irrational but if I ever saw something in the dark with glowing red eyes it would be an interesting study in fight vs. flight cause I am not sure what I would do.

Also with the whole heights thing, I do not have a problem looking down, my problem is looking up.  Atleast looking at the ground you have a reference point as to where you are spacially.

Not afraid enough to be a phobia, but here is mine:

Spider Webs: I hate running into them. Sometimes I think spiders do it on purpose to me.

Drowning: I can't "remember" if I know how to swim

Having rotten teeth: I have dreams of my teeth decaying sometimes and it creeps me out.

Strange enough, I've had quite a few run-ins with wasps. There was a wasp nest in one of the garbage cans in my elementary school playground. All of the kids tended to avoid the post, but I wasn't paying attention one day and went near it, and a wasp decided to land on my shirt. I didn't want to touch it (I didn't know if I was allergic or not) until it tried to go in my pants. You'd be surprised how scary it is when you're about to get molested by a wasp.
