    swede2,

If you like vanguard that's great. If you think its better than wow that's great. If you don't like/burned out on wow that's fine. Reading your posts however you contradict yourself every other post.

You spent 6 months getting to 60 then another 6 months playing 16 hours a day to hit GM. You only did instances when you felt like it or to help others. How exactly did wow "force" you to run instance after instance? How is running instance after instance the only thing wow offers when you admit you didn't do any of that? Maybe the reason wow felt like the most boring repetitive game you played is based more on how you CHOSE to play it and less on the game itself.

what do you mean i went into instances once in awhile to help friends or guildies  , i went back after a year off and tryed to play the game the way blizzard wants i got the first blue set from the 5 mans and by that time i had already run each instance 10 or more times and that was only the ones that dropped gear for my character . you dont think your forced to either run instances or run the same bg's or arena whatever it is to be competative. Gemmie a break like i said its a good game just not for me

my guildies use to make me laugh so hard they all claimed to love the game but before every run alls you heard in guild chat was how sick they where of running the same place and i would say wait you where just telling me how much you loved this game. To funny

i choose to play it the only way i could and call it fun and even that was repetative as hell that was 0 to 60 before burning crusades bro Now after burning crusades your pretty much forced to run the same content over and over to be competative Only game ive ever played that i was called a noob for using a player made weapon try to tell the guy i just came back bro it was a quick easy fix for been undergeared, get lost noob that sums up wow for me perfectly

Every gear-centric MMO is like this. Even Vanguard. Why single out World of Warcraft?

I singled it out for the same reason all you people singled out vanguard for something that every mmo does. Suppose your going to try and tell me wow had every single thing that they promised or any other game for that matter

In vanguard you have to seek out quest targets for the most part and i like that myself nothing worse than getting a quest and oh look here they are 25 feet from the quest giver

Plus when your riding around vanguard with every setting maxed at 1920x1200 those wide open spaces look pretty good

Oh I have no problem with the size of the world at all. As matter of fact, I'd prefer a larger world to one that is small. The thing is that Telon is very bland and uninteresting to me. While I'm not at 1920x1200 (I'm at 1680x1050 on a 22" widescreen), I'm sorry but its just more open space. There are very few points of interests or spots in the world that make you stop and look around.

Like I said before, ANY developer can create a huge world, throw some textures on it and sprinkle some rocks and trees; it takes a little more creativity and effort to make the world interesting and immersive though. On this end, Sigil failed, in my opinion.

Just take a run through some of the zones in EverQuest and you'll see what I mean. There are hundreds upon hundreds points of interests in Norrath.

Why is it you hold WoW to this standard and not the other games you play.  All this talk about playing how you want and doing what you want.  Why change that for one game and then complain about it?

There is no problem saying you got bored with a game, but it is a little strange to go back in time and change it to hate, especially after playing for so long.

It's true that most games won't have everything they promise in at launch, or even until a paid expansion or two comes out. Heck, City of Heroes/Villains is only now getting to the stage where they can offer the ability for players to customize their weapons instead of using the game defaults, and they're coming up on four years of release.

I don't think that Vanguard's problems stem from not having certain features in the game, like raids or flying mounts. I think they're largely technical, such as buying the Unreal engine and then cutting out most of Epic's code from it, and a severe lack of polish at launch that was the result of a chaotic and undisciplined development cycle.

MMO's aren't going to be perfect, so expecting that is unrealistic. And everyone is entitled to play the game they find the most fun, whether it's Vanguard or something else. It just so happens that people expected a lot more from VG considering who was at the helm, and they just weren't able to deliver when the game went live, and Vanguard has suffered for that.

VG can still recover over time. They'll never reach WoW numbers, and may not even reach EQ2 numbers. But they can stabilize their population, and get the game in order for people, and that's enough, really.

I just wanted to say that you are so right.

I just said this in a post somewhere around here.  Travel times, death penalty, slow experience are in some respects assets and not liabilities.  I am happy that the game is just about fully fixed, and I understand that Update 3 will improve it more.  I am happy.
