    PB&J,

I see your point about the faction issues, and I don't doubt the PVE servers will be fun in their own right.  But for other reasons I much prefer the FFA scene.  At any rate, if the crafting system doesn't require  high end dungeon components,  and there is some semblance of player looting, that could go a long way in making it a viable server that isn't too overly dependent on uber gear.  Let's make gear mean something, but not everything.  Skill should be 80% of it.

Anyway,  here's hoping.  Appreciate your input.

So I guess being a Dark Elf Necro wasn't such a good idea huh?

I see why you like the FFA server. I'll probably roll up some characters on it myself. I won't play on a PvE server but I do like PvE mixed in with my game play. I'll play on the PvP server that mirrors the one in beta now.

Crafting doesn't require high end anything. You can craft on common materials. I just have no clue how important gear will be in PvP.

As for gear, well, other than CoX, all these games are focused on gear. Though, so far, the separation between different tiers of gear seems to be much lower than it was in WoW. Granted, there isn't any of the high high end stuff floating around at the moment, but still. Of course, who knows how things will look in 3, or 6 months or a year from now.
I wasn't really referring to the modes (offense and defense) available to a class. For example, shamans undergo some sort of quest to pick out their defining totem. It isn't something you switch on and off like the offensive and defensive modes. Its a one time decision.

Oh, I know, Shaman have their different totems, Monks have styles/paths whatever. That's why I said most of the classes not all. ::::02:: I was referring more to classes like clerics, who can bounce between being a bit better at healing, or dps. And even within the subpaths of classes like shaman, or monks(which are the only two that have that feature afaik) there isn't really any difference between player A and player B other than gear. Yet.

From what the OP has said so far, I'd say Darkfall is the game he's looking for, but since I don't believe that it will ever see the light of day, in a form not resembling D&L or worse, it'll be a damn long wait.

Just a small tidbit I seen whilst reading through this.

ATM there is 15 in beta, but there are actually 17 classes as the Inquisitor and Berzerker class aren't  implimented yet (but will be).

Pad's playing: WoW, HL, TR, GuildWars.
Former MMO Exp: AOLNWN, M59, UO, AC1&2, EQ1&2, AO, SB, EVE, PS, EU, DAoC, DS, CoH/V, MxO, DDO, SWG, AA, Arch + many more.....

I hate SoE not Sigil, and why write a three page post when all you need to say is one word?

I got my necro to 22.

Because if you want people to care about you opinion it's good to have a little substance.  You got a Necro to 22, that's great, you've seen more of the game than I have for sure.  Did you try any other classes past level 5? Have you gone down some diplomacy trees? Did you try Crafting, building a house or boat?

Yeah, that's why I put 15 is because that's how many you can play right now.  I assume that Inquisitor will be available at launch since there is an icon for it.  Unless something changed Berserker will not be available at launch but slated to a later expansion.

Just not worth my time anymore.
