1. Pac-Man - First game to gross over a billion dollars.
2. Defender - The only other game to gross over a billion dollars.
3. Doom - Even though there was Wolfenstein 3D before it, Doom is the mother of all first person shooters.
4. M.U.L.E - Released in 1983 for the Atari 800 (my first computer) and basically was responsible for launch of EA and is one of the top 3 most pirated games in history.
5. Wizadry - For all I know, this was the first computer RPG put out for the Apple II back in the early 80's and was a first person perspective game before even Wolfenstein 3D (keyword is perspective not an actual first person game or shooter).
I don't want to think that much now, so my top 5 may not be good or right, lol
1. FFIX - This is really what got me into RPG's. Even though it isn't really good, but hey, the first rpg is the most memorable one
2. Chrono Trigger - No need to explain.
3. Runescape - Almost exactly what the first person who had runescape also said. This got me into MMORPGs, and I was heavily addicted to it. This game changed my life.
4. Unreal Tournament - What got me into FPS
5. FFX - First game that almost made me cry at the ending.
6. FFXI: Rise of the Zilart - Have to include my favourite MMORPG other than my first mmorpg right?
1. Elite Showed me the future of gaming. The scope was awesome.
2. Super Mario 64 Pure fun.
3. Final Fantasy VII Turned me from someone who liked RPG's to someone who loved RPG's! And has yet to be matched in creating empathy with video game characters.
4. Command and Conquer Revolutionary experience in the RTS genre.
5. Crazy Taxi I bought a Dreamcast to play this game.
It's hard to say whether these are my top five all time games, or just games that blew me away at the time.
Tough to leave out Zelda : Ocarina of Time, Gran Tourismo 2, and Quake, oh and Resident Evil Remake. Bah and I almost forgot Metal Gear Solid.
Good call on Shenmue to the dude above. I lost a lot of hours to that game!
