I know this video has been posted on here this morning but i just want to emphasize it: the new Darkfall Battle video
http://files.darkfallonline.com/darkfall_battle.zip
Download it, if you are a fan of PVP ( or even against PVP) you will enjoy it. This was probably released to shut Dan Fortier's vapor screaming mouth.
REMEMBER -this is an ALPHA Video, you cant find a better ingame video of an alpha build in any game, just think of when its completed. This video shows they acctualy are DOING WHAT THEY PROMISED and working hard to bring out a COMPLETE GAME with all the features they wanted. A small company with 30 developers struggling to bring inovation back to mmorpg's.

Looking good! This is the one MMOG that I am looking forward to.
Change the title of the thread to New Darkfall Video!
Nice video but, MMORPG.com & their top editor Dan Fortier think different…. They think thai it's vapor...SAD!!! Check this link: http://www.mmorpg.com/showFeature.cfm/loadFeature/1093. They don’t even bother to apologize
Shame on them!!
Six years…right!

ok 4-5 years ... thats much different LOL
because i know my registration date on thier official forum was from 2003. and I heard of the game before that.
This is more focussed towards the general vaporware screamer then you personally, but i really dont get why people do that ... I mean, if it doesnt come out, i dont think many people will lay awake over it, and the few that do, so what, let them. If you are warning people not to pre-order stuff then i can understand where your coming from, but for gods sake let people have some hope about games and stuff they like.
I dont care if it takes 10 years or 1, if i like a up and coming game, i'll follow it somewhat. Just like i followed Wish, Dragon Empires and Dark and Light (along with some that actually did become something ). I wonder if people think i lay in bed crying at night because the "vaporware"-screamers were right and i should have listened?
Back to topic, i am looking forward to the game very much.

GR8…You see- It takes almost no effort to be truthful. OK, now make that 3-4 years, and then watch the video….
Not much was said about Darkfall at all except that the writer tried to fit it in one of three classes of "vaporware." From the article:
"Class Two vaporware is a bit of a step up from the previous class in a couple important ways: They have a good bit of financial backing and/or have undergone serious testing above the alpha level by people outside of the dev team and their flock of faithful fanboys. These are not to be confused with other games in development which are being designed by developers in a real studio with real direction. Typically, games at this level are coordinated across the country via file sharing by people who have day jobs. While more stable and better planned and funded, these projects still have a high mortality rate due to the logistics of planning and the time constraints of the developers. Despite the best intentions, the games need serious work to move up or out of vapor status.
Incomplete games that have been released can also fit into this category which is why games like Mourning and Dark and Light fit snugly into this class along with the likes of Darkfall, Atriarch and Mount and Blade. It’s not really fair to throw some promising, if a bit unfinished, games in with inept Devs and pre order scam masters, but who said life is fair? Titles at this level of vapor can be well thought out or simply thrown together, since the only thing that matters is how close they are to being done. Don’t take your wallet out from its hiding place just yet because we have one more class to go." - Dan Fortier
In other words, the writer himself said that his own classification was not fair. I'll bet Darkfall will eventually be released - hopefully it won't be released pre-maturely.

Plz read this From : http://df.warcry.com/scripts/news/view_news.phtml?site=7&id=68059:
"Aventurine currently employs 24 developers in-house and six professional contractors. The staff is international from Norway, Greece, Italy, the UK, the US, Denmark, and France. Its activities, other than Darkfall, are research into game and simulation technologies. We've also advised war-game simulation military projects in the past through other companies in our group, activities that have given us some valuable perspectives to be used in game development. The company also sponsors and supports sporting events, athletes, and competitive gaming tournaments. Aventurine is organized under the laws of Greece and the European Union as an S.A. Corporation".
Well, tell me; does DF fit in any of these 3 classes?
Edit to highlight

Ok, I admit it. It's not entirely 6 years. Fair enough. But it is 5 years and 5/6 months old.
NGE Refugee.
Nahhhh...
Alright then!
It's vaporware through and through until it's playable.
Just to be clear on something. Our "MMOWTF" features are an editorial column. This is where a writer of ours expresses his own rants and opinions. These features are not intended to be any kind of official opinion of any kind...and this is clearly stated in the intro to each column.
These are nothing more than a "featured forum rant" from Mr Dan Fortier. As the site owner I probably only agree with about 35% of this article and as with all editorial columns, take this one with a grain of salt.

The dead know only one thing: it is better to be alive.
Incidentally, there can be no doubt the 35% Craig agrees with is that Darkfall is vaporware!

YA'll can put dat on duh reAL!!!
Mad Pr0pz to muh brothas keepin it real than a mutha... ; ) ... .... ... . . .
HOllaZ!!
heh.. it really was well made and instills a little bit of hope in me. Im still wondering about the game mechanics other that combat though. I would very much like to see a simple crafting video - maybe including a few seconds of footage from each point of the crafting process. But the combat we did see seems very smooth, practical and ,above all, fun.
Comon' Darkfall.. we're ALL counting on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. I especially liked the turreted ship combat. Controlling each cannon - wow!

So how much did the DF team pay you to say this?
