Hardly, but oviously he got some sensitive information as it got BoB and CCP all worked up, so much that CCP banned him without any evidences that he hacked anything. I always thought mmorpg companies job wasnt to up keep law and only report to officials any hacking that target them. They werent even target of this "hacking" so I would like to know how and what evidences they got apart some friend from BoB told them.
Quite frankly Devs/GMs shouldn't be allowed to play the game at all since it will breed a Bias, the objectivity lost will not be regained. The person will simply need to find employment elsewhere. Hell even their Aurora dept shows bias in the locations that they choose to run the bulk of their in game events and in who they choose to allow to participate in those events, the long and the short of it is if you work for CCP in any capcity then you shouldn't get to go beyond your official role. Thats pretty much what I would apply to any of the games out there.
Genuinely in this case if theres culpability here in CCP's staff then they need to send an extremely harsh message to the rest of their employees or volunteers and fire that person on the spot and permanently ban them from ever opening an account.
Well it seems that all the on board discussion at eve-online.com has stopped due to the thread being locked. So I would think that the discussion has been moved behind closed doors. Seeing what they did with the GM who was spawning stuff on himself I really could not say what the outcome of this could be.
I havent played eve for long time, but after reading these forums again I know why I wount. It's so bitter that I cant find it fun, reading ASCN disband and how they lost titan without even ability to use it is just sad. Titan is being most expensive ship(like full epic gear x 100 in WoW and it might be close) and lost without even using it... thats just sad.
Might want to check your facts. They did use it, several times, long before they lost it. And the only reason they lost it was because Cyvok made a bad judgement call when he logged out with his aggression timer active.
There are two very simple rules in EVE that every pilot absolutely MUST follow:
1) Never fly a ship you can't afford to lose
2) Never log out before your aggro timer expires (unless you are docked in a station)
Those 2 rules are the two most BASIC rules of the game. Cyvok didn't crash out, he logged out. This was verified by GM's who investigated the issue. Also many people in ASCN who were on TS with him verified that he did indeed say he was logging out. There are various explanations given from time to time. I suspect that this one is true: He was experiencing lag or system issues and needed to log out to clear them. But he should have waited at his safe spot until the aggro timer expired before logging out. (actually he should have been warping between several safes till the timer expired to prevent being scanned down, it's not exactly hard to scan down a capital ship). Only AFTER the timer expired should he have logged out to clear his lag.
Either way, it's silly to say they lost the Titan before they could even use it. They had it for a good couple months before they lost it. The fact that they rarely used it is their own problem.
Also: ASCN didn't disband because they lost a titan. They disbanded because their member corps were, primarily, industrial corps and couldn't take the heat of a full scale war brought against them.

this is just the top of the iceberg.
there has been 5 ppl posting on the RKK forums from behind the main CCP ip adress in iceland.
and according to info the postings didnt happen during the fanfest either wich were held at a hotel and not at CCP headquarters.
there has also been some private communication between one of the devs on the RKK forums with a member of RKK wich were of CCP work nature and the RKK guys employment opportunities at CCP.
CCP has pissed to much in their own pool and i think they need to clean it up real good and do it as much as possible in public.
if they dont do that i think that eve online will definetly take a nosedive.
they're the only alliance I know of that will have someone in your TS say "there's a lone battleship at planet 5" and get 20 of the noobs in your fleet to warp there to get ganked

and they don't ruin eve, the people that join them do. What eve needs is more Shamis Oriz's and more Cptn Pugwash's and more Skull Hsc's and more Xirtams, and more Masta Killas, and more Duke Droklars too I guess even though I hate that guy. People that fight for their own ideals and don't just go join some corp based on the forum whores saying they're the best.
