It is poor, it is waste of money, go back to WoW and have some fun, Please don't sell it on ebay... don't make some-one else be so bored playing this game either..
haha! i love all the negative feedback i get from a simple joke like "your mom is santa claus" or "your face is a flop" its just my sense of humor.. its the ones that freak out you know are ALL serious about the game. and as of WoW being my first mmo. if you had read my previous reply i got to level 16 and hated it. my other two mmo's are SWG and EQ2. both great games. WoW just sucked big time for me.
Seriously dude, you gotta work on your grammar school sense of humor. I mean, according to your bio you're 19 years old for God's sake.
hmmmm you say "WoW will be the most popular game for many years to come". That's a pretty bold statement. Times change, technology changes, people change. I think sooner rather that later WoW will begin to fade. It certainly won't happen overnight, but it will happen. WoW will still be around, but to say it will be the MOST popular for many years.... I just don't see it IMO.
I dont dislike Vanguard i hate SOE they have no clue what the word customer means. They destroyed SWG and EQ im sure they will destroy this game too. neither wow or vanguard will survive Age Of Conan IMHO
OP , you are a complete fool. This game may be OK but dethrone WOW, for god sake there 4 HAIR STYLES, NO HELMETSor HEADGEAR, POOR ANIMATIONS, LIFELESS NPC's, the list goes on and on, just except it, you guys may be having fun (which i didnt) but lets not get irrational..and stop blameing WOW, Blizzard cant help it they have a better team of people working on the game. Vanguard is NOT what it was promised a year ago, and thats IT, maybe in ayear it will return, but there is enough negative post to tell you somethjing didnt work. so settle down, and keep BETA testing this game and make it something worth talking about
Seems to be a lot of VSoH haters around here. Honestly I don't understand what the deal is. Are the WoW Fanbois just upset that there is new dog on the block that might in a year or two dethrone Blizzard's pet project?
ROLFMAO. Dethrone WoW. You assume that if someone doesn't like VSoH that they love WoW. I don't like either game as both are a big dissapointment and offer nothing new. And you are seriously delusional if you think VSoH is going to dethrone WoW.
Why do you assume that all the haters are from WoW? Seems like to me your more worried about Vanguard being a flop and are blaming it on the WoW kiddies.
How do you measure this game is a flop? 50k, 100k, 500k, 1million, 8 million subscribers?
Or is it by years 1, 2, 5, 7, 9?
If the game lasts 7 years of expansions (as they planned) then thats my measure.
As for people hating this game, there are quite a few vocal ones. Keep saying the same thing again and again. its dull.
Using numbers that Brad has stated which originally started out a year ago around 500k, then he lowered it to 400k then lowered it to 250k then lowered it 100k and he would be happy.
I have no doubt that it will be around for some time, takes alot to kill a mmo but this has several things against it already which can kill it quicker, it released unfinished so devs have to spend alot of their time finishing the game before they can really think about new content and they have to pay off their debt which has accrued over 5 years of development of between 45million (EQ2's cost) and 75million (WoW's cost) since they are the 2nd most expensive MMO ever.

Yikes, is that true? THe 2nd most expensive ever? If that is true they have alot of ground to make up. Should be exciting to see what they try to do to make it a success. With that much dinero spent and the state of the game now they are not looking pretty. Not as polished as WoW was but not as fudged up as AO.

Yup, Brad has stated they are the 2nd most expensive MMO of all time. WoW has been stated at $75 million and EQ2 was stated at $45 million.
And I agree, I don't see where that many millions of dollars went.

Why would I have to? Just like I don't see how Terminator 3 cost $200 million to make, I don't have to have any concept of how much it costs to know that it is the most expensive movie of all time (at least it was). I know that it is the 2nd most expensive MMO and that EQ2 was at $45 million and WoW was $75 million. So they spent between the two.
One of the things Brad always said was that he and his team were "experienced" and knew how to budget and create a MMO.

Yeah, they only made the MMO that practically started the Genre in the US. What would they know?UO started the genre in the US really (there were others but not nearly as popular). EQ1 started the 3D MMO. And Brad and company still seem to think it is 1999 (starts singing Prince's "Party like it's 1999"!).
I know they had to buy the rights back from Microsoft. I would venture to guess that took a good chunk of that development money. Just an assumption but if right a costly one. Because it has seriously impacted the game early on.
Didn't SOE bring in people from EQ2 to help the game along in the last few months before release? I think I remember reading that somewhere.
If that's the case, then I'd hazard a guess that a sizeable chunk of their development money at the end went to buying out Microsoft, since Brad has gone out of his way to say that Sony had nothing to do with the buyback from MS. I'd imagine that buyback hurt them significantly, leading to Sony coming in and bringing their people in to help finish things. And that also probably means that SOE set a strict deadline, saying that because they were having to divert resources from another game to help them, the offer wouldn't be open-ended. They had to release whatever they had by the end of January, period.
Of course, this is nothing but pure conjecture on my part. I wasn't there, so I don't know for sure. But it sure would explain a lot of things, including their need to release by the end of January, no matter what the state of the game.
Whatever our feelings towards this or that game are, I don´t think that
we will see another 8 Million subscriber base in the future.
There are a lot of great games on the horizon and scubscription
numbers will thin out.
Neither Vanguard nor Conan, Warhammer, Star Trek Online
or even LOTRO or anything that I see at the horizon atm will gather
a community this size.
But many subscribers will divide among them.
LOTR and Star Trek I can see a 8 mil playerbase IF the game is interesting to the non fan base of them names. LOTR isnt bad ive tried the stress test betas and the actual beta.
If EITHER game has a hook to it the names alone will draw people to them, just like guys played SWG because of the name.
Vanguard ? Wont ever and I mean EVER. Get 4 mil let alone 8, and this isnt because its a bad game, its not its awesome and Ive loved every minute of playing it from beta 1 to now. But you cant play it on a Mac or a Geforce 5200 like you could WOW.
Well, kind of.. I still play it on/off because I have RL friends that play WoW.
But... Give the game a chance. Tweak your settings, optimize some stuff. Be patient and let the guys at Sigil fix & optimize stuff on their end in the coming weeks. (Server gets patched DAILY at this point... that's service!)
Above all else!!! (IMPORTANT, MY CAPSLOCK KEY DOESN'T LIE) Pick a toon and starter area that is interesting to YOU! Don't just pick a toon cause "it looks 1337" Try out different starter areas and jobs. Hint: some starter areas are more interesting than others. Some of the storylines and quest don't mess well and are boring. Other areas are really fun. It took me 2 or 3 tries before I found one that hooked me. V:SoH is much more about storyline and fantasy than about "OMG I need to level teh blood elf in under 3 days total playtime so I can gank teh noobs." That's the difference here.
I personally can see a vast improvement in just a few days (server-side preformance) than at the beginning of the week. Kudos on that guys. Second, there is much to offer in the way of combat, diplomating?, storyline, crafting (omg I'm confused!!! lol) explore it and take your time. Find one you enjoy and be patient. The game is still a newborn.
In other words, don't turn your nose at the brocolli just yet. Brocolli with cheese is pretty darn good I found out!

Thinking in extremes, e.g. haters, vanbois etc. is a sign for borderline syndrome.
Some people play and enjoy both games, as both arent perfect but neither are they bad.
