Well I'm sorry to hear you don't like it...I normally have these issues with most games when their new-relatively new. Nothing big really I just give it time and it improves.
What is the point in posting , If you aren't going to take the time to give a bit of detail into what you are informing others about . You should also verify that your problems are widespread , And not due to your individual systems performance .
If he was still interested in playing Vanguard, then you might have a point. However, it seems like he gave the game a chance, encountered more problems than he was willing to put up with for a game that you have to pay to play, and he registered his thoughts on said game.
Not everyone is willing to go and jump through all sorts of system tweaks in order to get one specific game to work, especially if their system runs every other game that they play just fine. Only someone with a vested interest in seeing the game succeed would go through all that.
Some users, however, are much less forgiving. Either the game works, or it doesn't. Either it's polished and ready for release, or it's not. For the OP, Vanguard clearly wasn't his game, and he expressed an opinion about it. Period.
See normally i'd HEAVILY agree with you... but this OP has posted the SAME thing. 3 different times on 3 seperate occassions. He OBVIOUSLY has some sort of motivation.
Such as... sharing his opinion?
Have you never posted the same thought on a game - good or bad - more than once, in more than one forum or thread? I kinda doubt it.
What I see in this thread alot are people looking for all kinds of ways to pick the OP's post apart to "invalidate it".
He's a liar.
He didn't offer his system specs.
He didn't offer his arguments in a proper format.
He's only posted 3 times.
And on and on...
Here's what I got from the OP..
He bought the game.. He installed the game. He patched the game. He gave the game a try.. All this should sound very familiar to everyone.
However, in his experience, he had alot of problems playing the game, all of which conspired to give him a very negative view of the game - and he came here to share that point-of-view.
Simple. How he presented it, how much info he gave or didn't give or anything has nothing to do with it.
The die-hard fans don't like what he had to say so they opened attack on him.
And again, I will bet money that not a one of his critics would have uttered a single negative blurb had he posted how he loved the game and voiced that everyone should try it. I'd further bet that some of you would have been right behind him, echoing his sentiments.
This all boils down to this: No matter how he expressed it, you don't like what he had to say about "your game".

Maybe his motivation is that he doesn't like the game, and he doesn't think people should buy it? Just a thought.
If you're hinting at some sort of anti-Vanguard conspiracy, that's just a bit paranoid, don't you think? Not everyone is going to like the same games, and just because someone posts more than one post registering distaste with Vanguard, that doesn't automatically mean he's a plant from another game, or whatever the fanboy theory is today.
I don't understand this mentality. Why can someone who flames a game over and over just not like the game, but someone who does like the game is automatically a fanboy? Why can't someone who likes the game just like it? Or why doesn't someone who not like the game be labelled some type of vanguard hater?
See how your not being neutral on the matter? If he continues to post how much the game sucks then he is just as bad as the people you label as fanboys.
Where is it said that someone who likes the game is a fanboi? I've yet to read any such accusation.
What makes one a fanboi is attacking any negative view posted on it, demanding unreasonable "proof" or "evidence" in order to "validate" the opinion... calling the poster a liar and assuming they must be running on a crappy system... even when a SOE rep themself has noted that there are performance issues they are working on.
... *That's* what makes one a fanboi; not merely liking the game.

What i'm saying is. if he was doing as you said. Not wanting to jump through hoops just post his oppnions and be gone. he wouldn't have posted the same thing so many freaking times. he WOULD have posted his feelings and been done with it. He's on a mission to piss people off it seems.
Once again... Judging by that.. have you never posted your opinion on something - good or bad - more than once in more than one place? And I hardly consider.. what was it.. 3 times?... to be "so many freaking times".

Not to mention, "...after playing for a bit..." Instant credibility.
That is always a favorite of mine.....
Alright fellas, then riddle me this.... How long does one have to play to know the game isn't to their liking?
I can listen to a song and in less than ten seconds I know I don't like...
I can watch a TV show and in less then two minutes know I don't like...
I can start a book and in less than a chapter I know it won't hold my interest...
And I know the same holds true for most people.
So this crap about "give it time it will grow on ya" is just BS In a world full of "NOW! NOW! NOW!" kids, I guess your reasoning is sane. There are however those of us that like challenge and have patience.
So your answer to his question would be... "Play how ever long you have to 'til it grows on you... or else you didn't give it enough time and you're just impatient and don't like a challenge".
Now that's ridiculous of a whole other flavor.
Yay, another absurd "validation" hoop for any who dislike Vanguard to jump through to appease the faithful.

"well theres always some idiot who always bungs up a lot of technobabble to defend some games poor performance even when i said given if you look at the required and recomened specs that a pc such as mine should play it quite well"
Just like there is always some snivvlen twit who thinks because someone knows more about something then themsleves they feel the need to go on showing ignorance ..... fabulous , impressive and again WOEFULLY ignorant what a wonderful combination you got there fella.
Why would game developer produce a game that can run with full graphics on old systems..... that in itself would decrease the shelf life of the game. Sigil is not tryin to attract the troves of mouthy , impatient and immature players from wow with is cartoon graphics they want a more mature crowd. They want their game to be a bit hard to run on your computer so it is not boring to look at in 6 months. They want it to be as new of an experience as possible 12months down the road after you have been playing under Balanced performance. Though I would hope they put out a list of suggestions for the above folks who obviously know little about graphics and system ability. Then maybe less flappin at the lips of the ignorant will go on.
Enough said , I look forward to playing when I get home after work , to all who have an open mind and already enjoying Vanguard happy questing and many loots to you
However...
Does his PC, including the video card, meet and/or exceed the minimum required specs to play? I'd say 'Yes'.
I'd assume this means it should run the game smoothly at the lowest settings, and it's not at all unreasonable to expect that it would - yet if I remember right, he said it was jittery even then.
So, in essence, his point is valid - Sigil has aimed too high with this game in the system specs dept. Sony did the same thing with EQII - that game was unplayable to many people I knew who had very nice systems. It was barely tolerable to me on decent settings when it launched. Like Sony, Sigil put too much of the game's visual appeal into DX9 pixel shader effects which require a much beefier system to really see and immediately limit the range of PCs able to run it. And it's only natural and understandable for people to want to experience the game the way they see it in promo screenshots and on the box cover; the visuals are probably a big part of why they picked it up in the first place. It's further understandable that they be disappointed when it doesn't look or perform as they'd expect - their level of hardware knowledge notwithstanding.
I, myself, am running on a home-grown Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 2 Gigs of Corsair XMS low latency RAM (dual channel), on striped dual SATA drives and a GeForce 7800GT 256 VRAM vid. card. Even at mediocre settings, with the usual suspects of lower FPS (real-time shadows/lighting for one) set to lower settings, the game stuttered quite alot for me. My system is hardly top-of-the line.. but it's no slouch either (I've been pricing out a serious upgrade recently.. but I digress). I *can* play Oblivion at almost max settings and I can set EQII pretty high as well... With VG, however, I had tweak the settings quite alot before I could get it to perform consistently around 30fps in all areas (not just open wilderness with no-one around, in which areas I've never had trouble getting good performance).
And besides, not everyone who buys or wants to play VG is going to be a techno-geek who understands all this. It would be unreasonable and even elitist to expect otherwise. Many understand just enough to know that their video card is DX9 compatible and their processor meets the requirement. They do not understand that their video card is the lower-end version of whatever model - they just know that it's good enough to play the game. Sigil, I'm sure, did not omit this demographic when plotting out their expected numbers, reserving it exclusively for those with the where with all to invest in a PC capable of eking out the better visuals avail. in VG. In that light, it was also pretty bad planning on Sigil's part to set the bar that high - even for the lower end specs.
As has been stated now by SOE themself - VG's engine is in need of performance improvements. It certainly is not as optimized as it should be.
So, I don't think it's really very valid to try and deny the OP's statements about the game's performance.

well it not looks like they a merging servers . this is proberbly good for those few of you still playing the game but its obvious vanguard is nt getting anything like the number of players it needs . they really should have waited tested it a bit more before releasing it or made it free to play untill they had a product people would want to pay for . this was bound to happen . once again i ll say the only way to save this momumental balls up. is to make it free to play at least in the short term .....either that or i give it a year at most before it folds . they must be losing money hand over fist ..... i think vanguard will go down as one of the greatest turkeys in online gaming .
