If somehow a developer can implement perma death in such away its playble i dont mind go play such a game . But im affraid its very complex to make such a game where perma death is posible and still players keep playing and not lose months of building a character and lose it on one death. Anyone have some ideas?
Perma death will not work in an MMORPG with a monthly subscription plan. Simply because paying $15 for 5 months just so you can lose everything you worked for in 2 mins does not generally appeal to the majority of the people who pay their own bills. Yes there are those who enjoy such things but in my opinion those people have a borderline gambling problem and wasting money on MMORPG should be the least of their concerns.
Rename urself to gutless man. Your wasting ur money on an MMO either way you look at it. I pay for the game so I can have fun. I have had much more fun on games where death actually matters. When my friend falls in combat it should be a big deal and permadeath really does that.
It seems most people play MMOs to keep their characters as a badge or something of how much time they have wasted in a game.
EDIT: Oh btw it wouldnt take 5 months to level in a permadeath game. Think more like a few weeks. You have to think a little outside the box sometimes and imagine a game that isnt like all the others in order for some things to work.
