This "scandal" is actually not such a bad thing. The only people it would affect are those that could use a break from the game anyways. I have been an on again off again player of Eve since beta and the only thing that would concern me is that I can still log on and play. Some of you people take these type of games way to seriously. Just enjoy the game for what it is.

Well if it where a game that I did not pay to play then yeah I would not bother .. well to be honest I would still quit, however since EVE-Online was a game I did pay to play then I had higher expectation to that game.
Same as I do with every product I buy ... I do feel cheated out of my 3 years of subscription.. 2 accounts, that is alot of money and yeah even that I have had fun it all feels very sad now because it all was rigged and some players and devs where allowed to cheat in the game.
There is a reason to why I don't play games like Counterstrike ... I refuse to play games online with others where they are able to cheat (and some do).
remember it is not "just a game" it is a product you buy and pay for ... you are allowed to expect the developers of that product to not cheat you.
you say "Just enjoy the game for what it is" ... well that is exactly what this game have become .. cheaters game, where even the developers cheat you.
I'm getting ready to subscribe I doubt this scandal will kill it. I dont care how much the devs cheat at least they care about their product enough to play it which is more than the average game developer I know does. when I heard about the scandal I figured I should give the game a try if the game devs get that immersed to cheat in their own world plus im sure they cant simply control all of their employees. Every game dev makes mistakes
But with each new scandal, and subsequent outcry they will lose a few hundred accounts. Not really a serious problem for them.
What is going to be the problem is the perceived corruption on CCP's part. Whether it's true or not I have no idea, but I can tell you they have the worst response to these accusations I have ever seen.
The way the are handling it and the way they are moderating there forums makes them look guilty. They are reacting as if they are guilty, and whatever the truth that's how they are gonna be perceived. Honestly if I was trying to make them seem guilty, I don't know how I could do to make it worse then CCP is doing to themselves.
As CCP becomes associated with corruption the same way SOE is to incompetence it gonna to hurt there growth. New subscriptions will go down as this view becomes more and more prevalent, people will be leery of trying it.
Even that won't really hurt them till someone else makes another good spaceship mmo, and don't kid yourself sooner or later someone will. That's when they are gonna really start reaping the negitive effects of there reputation.
Even then they won't fold though, they will just fade like EQ.
I imagine that while they probably won't fold due to people being addicted and no serious mmorpg competition in their genre, I feel its just a matter of time before the next scandal hits, say in about 6 months from now. When the third major scandal hits, I think even the most diehard addicted player will realize that (1) the corruption does affect the players (2) that quitting is the only viable option (3) their server population is dwindling as we speak.
They had a high record in December of last year, then the 1st scandal news broke, and they lost hundreds of people, just from the first scandal. This second scandal, thousands ( not hundreds) are leaving, and when the third scandal breaks, tens of thousands will leave ( I imagine about half those playing currently).
Based on their past and how they handle things, its just a question of how much players will put up with corruption before they get sick of it. Imagine if you were playing a BF2 FPS and devs were playing and cheating in that game. Eventually the players will realize that the cheating does affect them and no matter who you are or where in Eve, the cheating does affect you and eventually whatever you accomplished in game will be destroyed at the whim of CCP.
The fact that a coalition was made to destroy BOD and failed, speaks volumes. I wonder how many players that aren't friends of CCP got BPO tech 2 blue prints?
When the fourth scandal hits, in about a year from now, they'll lose about half their server numbers again. On the plus side, the game will be less laggy for those who stay, but the black mark will keep people from coming into the game.
I think its just a matter of time before Eve does fold, and its going to be directly related to CCP corruption, mishandling it with the community, and people getting fed up.
========================== The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

Well then if thats the way it is then your better off gone anyways, because your not going to have fun off it anymore. As for most players this wouldnt affect them in the least. Its a hobby not a job, and should not be looked as one. You act as if you put 3 years working a job instead of playing a video game. I dont think its right what they did, but the great thing about mmorpg's is there is alot of them out there so im sure everyone who leaves will find another. Why make a huge stink otu of this? Sure you payed money every month. But until the recent "drama" you were enjoying yourself, so it was money that was spent making you happy. Just all this seems way to intense for what it is.
The people who quit will be the marginal players anyway. After the latest dev blog post, I think it's safe to say that most players will accept the evidence as shown. If they don't, then nothing CCP does or say will convince them. As to CCP folding ... never. The game was profitable when they had fewer than 100k subscribers. Now they have White Wolf behind them and many more subscribers than they need to remain profitable. I think they'll be here for many years to come.

There aren't gonna fold, to suggest it is silly.

There were 32k+ people on-line Sunday. So much for people quiting.
Have to love whiners who threaten to do something and then can't follow through.
Personally the more whiners who leave the better.
I have yet to see anyone with any supporting evidence of any cheating since the T20 incident.
So what you people are writing is vicious slander.
