First Turbine has a deal with eb/gamespot. They are the same company now. If you go to lotro.turbine.com and preorder it goes through gamestop.
Second just because it's listed under best seller does NOT mean a lot of people preordered it. LOTRO has a lot of goodies to people if they preorder and that is a good way for eb/gamestop or even amazon to possibly get preorders for the game
Welp, I've been in the LotRO beta for a few months now, and all I can say so far is 'meh'. To be fair, there are a lot of really fun aspects of this game. I really like the Monster Play idea and the game settings look amazing. On the other hand, I can see how this game can get old fairly quick. I guess you'll need to play to understand.

Just not an appealing game overall. I'm sure someone is gonna call me a wow fanboy or w.e, but lol i hate WoW as well. If you want something to try , go for dungeon runners, its a great game. Quite addicted to it as we speak. I'm a huge Lord of The Rings fan but it just didn't cut it for me.
I have been beta testing for a couple of months now and the most appealing part of the game is the Middle Earth World. I played DDO and am not a fan but I hope this game does have a good turn out.

NCSoft is huge in korea, They have lousy customer service. For the record i played lineage for 3 years. Time of my life i will never get back. I finally left when all of my friends quit. They were the only reason for playing the game worth it. I too am in LOTRO beta have been since september. This game has held my interests all that time and i find it fun to play.
played the stress test was fun for like an hour till i found out i had to camp in areas and be the first one to hit the spawn to get the rights to it got reinvited for beta till release never played the game again its that bad same with vanguard 2 big letdowns hoping pirates of the burning sea will keep me bust till conan comes out.
Only an hour. you didn't even get out of the starting instant. You can't judge the game by an hour of play. Or any other game by that matter. The reason they have it set up that who ever hits the mob first gets credit for the kill is cause of kill stealing. Also the mobs respawn rate is determined by the number of PC's in the area. You should try the game again and get out of the starting instant.
Don't you just gotta love it. The game is looking successful 2 months before release and it must be scaring the living crap out of some of the other companies and their paid/unpaid fanbois. I wonder how Sigil is feeling about this right now after Vanguard hit the toilet bowl like last nights 4 course Mexican dinner, even the boyz and girlz at Blizzard might be a bit nervous now that something has came along that might give them a bit of competition. I just know know that SOE is suffering from a case of spastic colon syndrome.

I love this game. I plan on doing the lifetime sub once it comes out. Been a very positive experience other than being in the Vanguard beta which on my system sometimes worked and sometimes did not.

I can understand companies perhaps being nervous but why would fans be nervous? If LOTRO is successful, that is just another game for us to choose from. Means we have more variety, more competition which means companies will be more hard pressed to give us better content. I am praying LOTRO is successful, just to give more leverage for gamers to demand better content from their existing game of choice.
because some fans only see their game and nothing else they not open mind to any other game that comes out, normaly they tell it is garbage even without try it.
That is the problem with having narrow vision. There are plenty of games I do not care for. I am not a fan of WoW, but I am thankful it succeeded. I am not a fan of Vanguard, but I hope they fix their ship and are successful. Successful games means the market will keep growing, older games will push harder to keep members, and fans win all around. Here is to a long life for LOTRO.
