Here is the URL to the pictures. Warning: Dial-Up Users Proceed At Own Risk. Images still took a hit because the game saves them in .jpg so there is some lossy to the images. Going to try to save them in .tiff format because then there is no loss in quality. If you have a good monitor you'll see lots of detail and textures on everything. BTW - all the bells and whistles to the games settings are maxed out - everything.

Or did you mean the pictures were dark?
To the OP, nice pictures. I love Vanguard and it runs fine on my laptop on balanced (which I think still looks better than any other MMO out atm and doent look too different from the pictures you posted as far as I can tell).
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly.
It should be thrown with great force"
Actually I think what you meant to say is that the game saves them in bmp format, and since most image hosting services don't host bmp's, the images took some quality hits in the conversion.
Good shots though. I'll add a couple links of ones I've taken (at 1920x1024):

Arent u one of those that says that EQ2 looks amazing? what a joke... oh the hypocrisy...
Wow, I really liked those screenies....my new computer needs to get here!!!
Anyways, I especially liked the detail on the armored horses. They looked effing spectacular.
My game saves screenshots as JPGs. Usually there's a setting for that somewhere, not sure about VG. Also most games have borderline lossy output, if you depend on thier built in JPG compression. If you can save as BMP, it should be pretty easy to covert at the highest quality, without any discernible loss. 100% with freeware like Irfanview should be fine, while using a setting of 12 in Photoshop tends to be overkill.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
While I agree, EQ2 does have nice graphics, Vanguard is definitely the clear winner here.

And what kind of system have you played EQ2 on..
I play it on an excellent system and the graphics are breathtaking. MUCH better than any graphics I have seen from Vanguard in person or in screenshots. Show me something better than what I see in EQ2 and I'll believe you.
Its all down to personal preference anyway. New screenshots of some game are released and some people say it looks like a PS1 game and other people are blown away by them. *shrugs*
Like I said, I do think EQ2's graphics are very good. No-one can argue that.

I love this quote: "Show me something better than what I see"It's like saying, "No matter what you show me, my version will always be better."
It's still a matter of preference, but I like the "crispness of Vanguard as opposed ot the "blur" of EQ2. I will give EQ2 credit though since it has done leaps and bounds for performance since release and I give Vanguard that same potential. I can't wait to see my screencaps in V:SoH a year from now.
FYI: I still play both games as I have Station Pass and love each for their own talents.

Here are some EQ2 shots that I have taken during my 2 year time with EQ2..
EQ2 is better looking..Sorry

And..as mentioned before in other threads...EQ2 takes more use of shaders and all effects that i have seen in no other game..
No its not a matter of taste...etc ..the grapics is simply better...

Please consider View distance. You can not see as far in EQ2 as you can in Vanguard, so no, technically there is ALOT more to view/render in vanguard, Lost more going on, more shaders in one scene, more polygons, more textures, and WAY more animations (Environmental).

And your point is ?
The view distance in EQ2 is good enough...It's still the better looking game and no view distance will change that..Its what is close to you that you see, not a far distant tree or hill..But I agree that if Vanguard looked and worked as good as EQ2 with the combined view it would be better, but...It isnt..

My point? Opinion and taste not withstanding, Vanguard it Technically more advanced, and doing more than EQ2. In most cases, doubling. While achieving a similar quality in graphics (Note: you confuse style with graphic quality).
What is it that is "Better" to you?
1) More objects in a scene? Larger amounts of polygons/textures per item? Higher resolution Textures (Vanguard uses VERY high resolution textures)?
2) Or the color pallet? The composition? The style applied to models? The theme?
# 1 is graphics, #2 is Art direction/design/style.

OK...I added two daytime shots. I swear the one looks like painting, but it isn't. It is right out of the game, I just happen to catch the light and be in the right spot at the right time. Just wow.
