ill settle this debate right now Age of Conan has the best graphics ive ever seen
People keep talking about AoC's graphics, but sorry, I can't take it seriously when it's not even in beta, yet. Anarchy Online was the best looking game of it's day, though. Maybe Funcom will pull that off again, thier vids certainly suggest the possibility, but untill we get to really see it, it's not even a contender

lol age of conan is gonna be one of the very first games to utilize DX10 graphics, which means they will, without a doubt, have one of the most advanced graphics..all their armor models look real and not "plastic" looking, their environments look real, lush, and alive...just look for youself and dont be a ignorant fool

Here is the URL to the pictures. Warning: Dial-Up Users Proceed At Own Risk. Images still took a hit because the game saves them in .jpg so there is some lossy to the images. Going to try to save them in .tiff format because then there is no loss in quality. If you have a good monitor you'll see lots of detail and textures on everything. BTW - all the bells and whistles to the games settings are maxed out - everything.
I have a 20" screen monitor and it is a good one too. The screen shots look really nice, however they do not look much better than DAoC with its graphics turned all the way up. The monsters, scenery, buildings and background looks the same as in DAoC. The horses texture looks smoother than the horses in DAoC and the characters look smoother. Detail is about the same and I am sure everything moves 5 years better than the mobs and characters in DAoC. I didn't believe the Mythic Tech support guy when he said DAoC is better graphics wise than EQ2, because I played EQ2, but now that I see screens of Vanguard after logging out of DAoC, I believe it.
I would love to join you all in Vanguard, but the game is not in a releasable state yet according to all the good and bad reviews out there. I hope you all enjoy your game, but I refuse to support games that are overly buggy and have bad performance problems due to unpolished coding. Good luck.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
And..as mentioned before in other threads...EQ2 takes more use of shaders and all effects that i have seen in no other game..
No its not a matter of taste...etc ..the grapics is simply better...

Judging by the screenshots, I'd say EQ2 looks much better when it comes to the character models. I'm not talking about the artwork either, because I hate EQ2's art direction. But it is clear that the shaders EQ2 has makes the models look more detailed. The terrain itself doesn't seem much different. Probably depends on what screen you are comparings. Some terrain in Vanguard looks better than EQ2 and visa versa. The bad thing is that EQ2 looks better and I can run the game on max with the rig I have, but because Vanguards code in unpolished, my system wouldn't be able to run it without $300 in upgrades.

While I agree, EQ2 does have nice graphics, Vanguard is definitely the clear winner here.
Here are some EQ2 shots that I have taken during my 2 year time with EQ2..
EQ2 is better looking..Sorry

End story.
I kicked my own poop chute for buying the $50 paperweight that is now Vanguard.
