What is the best game of this 2?
I am plaing LotRO beta, and i have to say WoW is beter for me.
I didnt liked the music, slow combat, WoW have more devercity of places, dungeons, mobs, equipment(i am a hobbit bard, and i have the same equipment that all other hobbits bards of my level) bad crafting all equip from quests is beter than crafted one. GW did story arcs beter. Is realy hard to die, why i cant go inside most houses, i dont like the animations. I got bored fast.
This is just my opinion dont bash please, i wold like to see yours, even if it is different from mine.

I love the music in LOTRO. I love the sound effects in each area.
If you only went to the starting are, you missed out on diversity. I only like the Shire of the three starting areas.
When you get to the lonelands, the game starts to shine.
Imagine if you never left Durotar, you would think WoW was bland.
The combat in LOTRO is slow, but conjunctions help add some flavor to it. There are plenty of instances in the game and the story arcs are very interesting. You need to experience the chapter quest lines.
So many votes To LotrO i wold like to see your opinions, and why is Lotro beter for you.
I know there are many WoW haters here that will vote against WoW just because of that.
The story line behind LOTRO is great and the reason it will be better is that alot of ppl have heard, read and seen LOTR and the Hobbit so now is there chance to experience it first hand and to feel like you are really part of a game makes it interesting indeed and yes the further you go in this game the better and better it becomes so get ready for a WOW onslaught,
I am in no way a WOW hater but am not at all that impressed with it ,cartoon like graphics seem old to me and i know that graphics dont make the game but if i have to pay a monthly fee to play something i want it to be as visually pleasing as the gameplay itself
I voted LoTRO, I never cared for the Warcraft world myself, but if you are not enjoying a game by lvl 10 or 15 chances are you will never enjoy it. I gave WoW to lv 25 but could never get into it, by lvl 10 LoTRO had me hooked. Anymore I will not play a game past lvl 10 or so hoping to get to the fun part.
On the positive side there are a ton of features I love about LoTRO, the casual friendly atmosphere, the crafting, player generated music, graphics etc etc etc.
Edit the acoustic guitar music I am not nuts about either, but it fits the mood of the game I guess.
I miss DAoC
(sorry off topic just needed to say that)
Just my two coppers.
Well I really like LotrO's Quests, everythin else about LotrO is the same as WoW. I like Wow's PVP tho. So to me there basically even, its just what your looking for. PVP or RP
Just because WoW is the " most successfull mmo ever " does not mean it is the BEST mmo ever. World of Warcraft is the Toyota Corolla of mmo's. It is the Amercian Idol of mmo's. People come from WoW thinking and talking like they are some big shot, hard core mmo's player like a kid that comes out of a movie theater after watching a Chuck Norris flick thinking they have mastered a bunch of moves and kick everyones butt. That is the main reason why so many other mmo players have great dislike for many WoW players and the game itself. Many people enter the World of Warcraft new to the mmo world...develope bad habbits and poor play styles thinking this is how a mmo is suppose to be played. It's much like a kid being raised in Disney Land ..stepping into the real world for the first time wondering where all the " kewl " rides are.
With that being said...if one is having fun in WoW ..great !!!! ....just understand ...you are playing a watered down, very easy mmo. Understand that when you tire of WoW and try to move on to a new mmo...you basicaly have to reset you way of thinking, forgetting everything you learned in WoW. People pretty much have to do this whenever they leave a mmo that they have played for a long time. The tendency to compare the new mmo you are playing with the old one you played for a long time is strong. Forget bragging about the new gear you just found ....nobody cares. Expect to level slower. Learn to apperciate the journey as..unlike WoW ...it's not the destination that counts. In all the mmo's I've played..once you reach the level cap...it's pretty much a let down. There is nothing to do except stand around trying to look like a big shot....and nobody cares. Its not the destination that counts..its the journey.
I think this one reason many WoW players hate Vanguard. I think for many of them the transition from not only....high level player to complete newb is major, but the transition from high level player in an easy game to a newb in a much more challenging one is simply overwhelming and is crushing alot of egos. For many of these players..this is their first time trasnitioning out of a mmo in the first place..coming out of their first mmo experience. This is the most difficult transition a mmo player will face. It's much like breaking up with your first girl friend. Then to realize that alot of people do more than just " hold hands "...on top of that is enough to send many over the edge.

Your logic is flawed though obviously hearfelt. If being the most successful mmo ever is not a indication of being the best mmo ever... do tell... what is?
Understand we are playing a watered down, very easy mmo...? Sorry, I hear this a lot from people who think extra clicks to make something and corpse runs are a sign of sophistication..
The reason I hated Vanguard is becuase it had non-inspired graphics, bad quests, horrible bugs, and nothing more than diplomacy to offer as new. People were already level 45 before the first month ended so that sort of cans the way more complex thing...
Wow is a smooth running, pretty enjoyable game - the people can suck but that is the case in every mmo... and /ignore works fine... it gives back what you put into it sans bugs...
I haven't played LOTRO yet - looking forward to another stress test though to try it. I have a friend who said he HATED it because you would be going along doing something and then be jarringly switched to some other story line... can anyone elaborate on that?
I keep going back and forth on pre-ordering the game .... but am leaning that way.

Fewer than 1% of the population is over lv 40 and half of those are likely gold farmers..playing shifts 24/7. The other half likely products of power leveling and exploits...there were several early on that enabled players to gain massive xp ..which has now been fixed.
The graphics are ..simply put...awe inspiring ! I've seen Lotr graphics....gotta love those square trees !
WoW was NOT running smooth during its first 3 months after launch. There was terrible lag and lots of server down time.
I am not referring to a few extra clicks and corpse runs when referencing WoW as being easy. I am referencing the hand holding npcs do for each and every quest..showing you exactly where to go..it's very robotic and requires little thought.
Most mmo's are more challenging and may people enjoy that. Why? ...simple The sweet aint so sweet without a little bitter ! thats why. The sense of accomplishment is greater when one has to overcome a few challenges to get it. The only people that don't understand or appreciate that fact are kids. Kids just want...sweet..sweet ..sweet. It takes maturity to appreciate the greater sense of accomplishment that comes from gaining a reward when one really had to earn it ! I don't see that as work either..I see that as fun and alot of other folks over the age of 20 agree.
People always say WoW is a watered down mmo experience...because it is !!! That is why they are saying it ! That is why I say it too. Does that make it bad ? Lotr is also a watered down experience. It is taking the marketing angle WoW took ..which is smart..for money making purposes, but it is not true to the genre.
It's comparable to a street version of car vs the racing version. If WoW and Lotr are Monte Carlo SS 's....than Vanguard and Eq are NASCAR Monte Carlo SS's.
Not a bad thing..just take it for what it is and have fun. Stop thinking yall WoW vets are going to win a NASCAR race in that street car and yall will be fine.
I have to go with LOTRO..........
They are both good games that are well layed out and have polished and more importantly FUN focused game play. I just prefer the graphics and the lore of LOTR. I see potential for some really cool expansions that will really bring middle earth to life. Monster play looks like fun to me as I never really enjoyed the instanced battlegounds of WOW.
Anyways as I said both good games its just a matter of personal taste.
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
No, it's not that and it's just the MMORPG.com harbors trolls because Blizzard doesn't advertise in MMORPG.com. If they did, the mods would ban every nah sayer here.
