So im abit tierd and abit bored, so why not make a new thread, yippie!
What fact do you like the most about WAR and least? your post need to have both the pro and the con to be valid. And all opinions are valid, don't make this an other flamethread.
My pro: The RvR-feeling from DAOC
My con: To much instancing
Comments
I agree...the pro is the hope for RVR .... done even better than before...
The con? Not really that many races/classes starting out....but I'm sure future expansions will improve on this...

War is everywhere! (I have many more but this is the biggest one for me)

It will not be out until late 2007.

I have no con that is based on fact only some ideas of what might go wrong.

Con: They may completely downplay PVE ( Yes I know, its PVP and RVR game, but my friends and I still like to solo and quest when we don't have a lot of time, and we never have a lot of time. )
if they completely downplay the PVE part, then i am worried the game wont be a 'full experience' and will end up like Guild Wars: A great game you only really play when you want a specific element of game play. "Oh I feel like having a fair fight I guess i will play Warhammer for an hour or two, then go back to my REAL game", that kind of thing.

Actually WoW has incredible armor diversity, until you start getting Tiered crap from Raids. Then it narrows down enormously. I have yet to run into any two people that look the same that are less than level 55.
My Favorite Pro:
Public Quests. Enhances community, without making grouping necessary
My Worst Con:
Unsure about Armor Diversity as well. Hopefully what they've shown us is only a sliver of what they have. If that's the case, then I think we'll be alright.

I personally am not to worried about 'armor' diversity in this game. One of the problems with WoW was that armor was almost too diverse and you ended up looking like a color blind harlequin:

Secondly, you guys are forgetting trophies and permanent changes to your character due to lvl. in my opinion that will offer a lot more diversity than armor will.(That is if they have a LOT of possible trophies to achieve.)

It all depends on what the changes are.
Doktar - 70 Troll Priest - Perenolde
I'm really unsure where that even came from. Especially since the devs have emphasized time and time again how they want to make it so that no two characters look alike.
And there is no 1-60.

I have so many pros it's hard to choose. And what cons I have, may not be true (just too early). So I'll just share one that is both a pro and a con.
Pro:
Public Quests. The idea of cooperating with groups of people in an area-wide goal, while avoiding the hassle of LFG, is almost like heaven to me. I am a soloist by nature, but I think my biggest roadblock is the dreaded timesink that is LFG.
Con:
Public Quests. From the way they talk, regular questing has been downsized somewhat, in favor of the Public Quests. I enjoy doing detailed quests, either in groups or alone. I just hope there is some meaningful regular quests to get involved in.
Seriously.

I think it's a common fear due to the fact that the classes are so iconic. From what we've seen, a Bright Wizard has a very distinct look, which is very different from the War Priest's very distinct look, etc. With 24 classes that all look very different, how can they offer much in the way of variety WITHIN those classes. Is a Tier 4 Witch Hunter going to look vastly similar to every other Tier 4 Witch Hunter? For that matter, will dropped loot be wearable by multiple classes, or will everything be class specific? Obviously, no one other than the Witch Hunter is supposed to get a cool pilgrim's hat, no one but the Hammerer is supposed to wield the giant hammers.
This is less of a concern for me than others. I don't really care if other people look like me. Besides, there will be some customization with the trophies we'll be allowed to adorn. Still, I understand people's concerns on this issue.

Pro: Your character grows as you level, and there will be massive fights with over 100 people on each side.
Con: Instancing
"The new age is upon us, yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave."
Pros: the capabilities to have a fair balanced fun RvR experience that is rewarding, Gear isnt the most important thing in the game
Cons:instanced PvP, low lvl cap (50 woulda been nice)
currently playing: Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2.
Waiting for: Warhammer:Age Of Reckoning, A good Star Wars MMO
Retired From: WoW 40 Ne Rogue/40 Tauren war/40 BE Hunter, SWG 72 Bothan Medic, CoV 40 DM/Regen stalker, GW 20 W/R 14 E/M 14 W/R, DAoC 20 Vampiir 20 BM 20 BD 20 Thane.
how about a nice tall glass of STFU
- Iconicness
- Intensiveness/Agressiveness (WAR is everywhere)
- They don't hide with the game being "just about killing stuff" like everybody else
- Capping cities
Con's:
- Sound (Thus will be fixed in final, hopefully)
- Speed of combat (A little worry of mine, since I like intensive combat not just standing around)

Dude every 1-60 will not look the same!! Classes differ as thewy grow higher in their levels, like Greenskins get bigger and chaos gets more mutations!
DuraheLL I reccomend watching the "Pat the Coder and Combat Testing" over at Paul's Video Blog. While I understand that the video is very small and probably not the best indication of combat its a big step up from what we have seen before and makes the combat look much faster and visceral than any of what we have seen before.
Pros:
Amazing PvP/RvR
Love the look
The Encyclopedia
Public Quests
The list goes on and on...
Cons:
Its not out yet and who knows how it will all actually turn out
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly.
It should be thrown with great force"
I dont think anybody is claiming to have played it however some facts are still aparent. Such as PvP being in the game or being based on the Warhammer IP. I think more than anything the pros and cons are representative of what people are looking forward and what they have reservations about.
Pro - The IP, Warhammer is a great, RvR sounds great too.
Cons - Lvls, my opinion is lvls suck ass, I want to be able to build my own totally unique template like SWG pre-cu. Unfortunately most MMO's have these now.
From my understanding only the boss fights in dungeons are to be instanced.

We honestly know nothing about the PvE instancing, and nobody mentioned that. What these people are concerned about is the PvP instancing. As in, a set number of players from each side being placed in a small instance, to fiight it out.
We know that there are close to 40 PvP instances in the game. One will be available at any given time for each Tier, at each of the 3 battlefronts. By that, I mean there's one instance at Tier 1 for the Dwarf v. Greenskins, one instance at Tier 1 for the Chaos v. Empire, etc.
Tier 4 is a little different, because there are instances involved at each territory. When the Tier 4 players are fighting over the neutral territory, there's one instance available to them. When one side captures that territory, the instance locks down, and an instance in the enemies territory opens up. Eventually that one locks down, too, and the fight is moved to the enemy city.
People are worried that this will become the primarly focus of PvP, because we've been told that instances provide the most Victory Points towards the war effort. They worry that outdoor PvP will suffer. That's what happened in WoW, but I think people forget that the Battlegrounds in WoW held all the rewards, and outdoor PvP had no purpose. Of course, we've also been told that there are a lot of goals and PvP content out in the persistant world, and that some achevements must becompleted before a territory is captured. Essentially, you'll need players in both the persistant PvP, and in the instances, in order to win the war.

But why - you ask - am I so anticipated about WAR?
IMO, levels are never boring unless you FEEL you MUST grind and waste time on "just leveling up". I believe WAR will be so fun the levels just shrink into the gameplay as you play. From day one you are said to be able to participate in RvR, so that alone feels just like what I want. And to be contributing to the overall war at the same time makes it feel like you'r doing something useful and not just "PvP'ing" with no real goal. You can also level by RvR'ing in WAR.
I love that in some games, you can multiclass or even like ol' SWG, make your OWN class by chosing WHATEVER you want from all the classes in the whole game. Though, when I realized WAR will have all theese ICONIC characters, I started realizing the whole beauty of it. It's something you really don't see everyday, and if feeling unique is what you want then I think WAR will be happily surprising aswell. There will be skill trees too, and as far as I know they work so that you can specialize in different aspects of your class. Let's say you are a Melee char, and you can decide to focus on AOE, 1v1 and so on.
Also they dont WANT people to look the same, therefore they say you can modify your armor. How this works I don't know but you will be able to get trophies to set onto your character.
Overall, I just want to play this game because I believe the core of combat will be just plain awesome. And if most non-sandbox MMORPG's are about PvP anyway in the end, why not focus the game on it from the beginning?
