Bored of Almost every MMO- what to do?

Greetz,

I am bored of almost every MMO and dont know what to do? What are you guys playing and is it still fun?

WoW - sooo boring now I've played for 2years

EVE - great game but dominated by high skill players in corps up to 5years old. Little potential to defeat Bob. So out.

Anarchy Online, Heros ... nice, but bore me

Vanguard .. same old, same old

Pirates of Burning Sea, Dungeon Runners, Runescape .... hahahahaha

Lineage II - grind yawn

Is it worth me starting up EQ2? I dunno. HELP!!

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Take a break from mmo's. Go play some other stuff, see the world and come back to mmo's refreshed and ready for a new game.

Try DAoC! it's an older game but it still holds alot of fun in it. I'v played it the last 5 years or so.

If you try it, choose a classic server, plenty of action there for new players.

I finally got Wurm installed and ran. I must say, that I was severely disappointed. The game was nothing that I imagined. It was buggy as hell and didn't even have simple combat animations, taking ALOT of the RP aspect out of the game. I felt like I was playing a crappy version of ATiTD instead of the Medieval Fantasy Simulation I had hoped for.

But, not only that..... it wasn't really that realistic. People talking about killing spiders in 2 hits on the main channel... wth? I can squish a big ass spider with my pinkey finger.

I was really stoked about trying the game too, so it's not like I went in thinking it would be a piece of junk. Though, imho it turned out to be.

EQ2 has a trial or you could try guild wars or maybe a non-mmorpg.

I usually play MMOs in the winter when its too cold outside and in the summer when it gets 95 degrees and 90%+ humidity around here. It makes it easier that I want to be inside because mmo's take a lot of time to get certain things done. Now that its spring and my GF and I are outside a lot, I'm on a MMO break and playing  counter-strike source. Its pretty simple to get into and it can be played for 5 minutes or for hours. Been personally playing a lot of Cagemonkey's gungame mod and zombie mod. I've followed this same pattern for a few years now and when I do go back to playing MMO's, (I play Dark Age of Camelot mostly), it really is that much more fun when you haven't seen the game in a few months. The trick is to walk away BEFORE you become hateful towards the game. If you played until you couldn't stand the game, there's only a small chance that a break will change that.

Oh yeah, and I've been playing EVE for about 2yrs now and I'm pretty sure that I can count all the BoB I've seen on one hand. lol

Try them all again....for the first time!!

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

well I'm stuck with wurm because it has what I like in it, the only thing similar is roma victor... and well it's roma victor not much else needs to be said.

maybe if wurm get's enough people we'll have a good RvR, with territory control, completely crafted by players, downplayed magic, and no npc questing system.  whether it's what wurm is(enough people in it and the devs can make it their new job), or a new company picking it up the game type I don't care.

    Hi AtariZazen

You might like Everquest 2, I recently started playing it and I am loving it, although I am only level 22 ,  However if you are at the stage of being totally bored with mmorpgs it might be hard to satisfy the boredom . But anyway give the trial a go, you might like it

    All the best

They need to finish it before they get more people. I mean, it's like they aren't even trying to finish it. Combat animations seem trivial but they mean alot. I mean, you attack something and you sit there and stare at each other till one of you dies. Wtf? Seriously.

To me, it just seems like a really good idea that was put together half assed.

Yup best thing for yah... step away.

There are soooooooooooo many great console games, pc games out to enjoy. Get a new hobbie, go outside, do something.

The one constent in the world of MMOs is that they are not worth playing when you become bored.

As for myself, I'm still playing Lineage2 and enjoying myself while playing a couple different beta's in the meantime. I've also gotten to the point where I tend to always be playing with the same group of girls and boys no matter what game I'm in, sharring my gaming time with friends has always been alot less boring for me.

Meh. There's like 5,000 systems. BoB only controls a small portion of the south, where as the NORTH is actually much bigger than the south.

Shae has a very good point ! I forgot to mention I had been playing a few X-box360 games lately, It was a nice change from mmorpgs also. I play Lineage 2 from time to time found a really nice clan on erica server and it makes the game alot more fun.

Getting outside is also good to ! we all need sunlight lol

heavy instancing is nice, allows you to go in with some guildies and enjoy yourselfs.  the only thing you miss is on the fly grouping when you  find out you overextended yourself.

its not like you're actually playing with the other people in a persistant world,  it's more like mutually ignoring each other.  unless you/they need help or game mechanics say otherwise...  kinda sad really and it's the reason I won't play a normal MMO that isn't heavily instanced(normal being EQ-ish PvE/questing and junk)

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Dude, Guild Wars is a MMO...

I too am burned out with the countless grinds of these games.  I played everything from UO to Planetside, Anarchy Online to Asherons Call (best game ever), etc.  I have also beta'd about 2 dozen games, and not just logged in to see what it was like.. but actually hopped in, provided input kinda beta test.  Face of Mankind was an exception,, horrible game.

I have been in EVE since last June, and it suits my needs until Pirates and WAR is released.   As far as the Band of Developers is concerned, I have seen maybe 2.  Well no,, that was before the war.. anyways, BoB is not a factor unless  you are in a warring Corp.  It is a great game cause there isn't real grinding for you to have fun doing what you want.  Well there is. .. but mostly it is your skill points and skills and tactics against others.  Whether you are a miner, freightor pilot or pirate/merc... you can do it.

I was hopeful for LoTRO but doing the same quests over and over when I try other characters is not going to be for me.

The advice of Take a Break is sound advice.  You could try Neverwinter Nights 2, as more and more persistant worlds are popping up. Have over 40 people online at the same time... and not the same 40+ as those communitees have over 200+ regulars.

thanks peeps for all the kind replies,

BTW could someone please explain how Neverwinter Nights 2 works as against another MMO?

    Thanking you twicely

Any, most MMO out there are all similar so I can't really suggest you anything that good, but if you haven't play FFXI , you could try it.(I just re-sub in FFXI a week ago since I was bored from the other MMOs I play)...

Although this game focus pretty much on group, so you can't really solo through the levels.  Anyways, hope you find some fun games to play.

    Current MMO: FFXIV:ARR

Past MMO: Way too many (P2P and F2P)
