Bored of Almost every MMO- what to do?

  • I haven't enjoyed a MMORPG since my days in SWG, to be honest there really isn't any special MMORPG out there because every gamer is different. EVE is a good game but hard to really get into it personallty, EQ2 bored me very quickly... a situation of been there done that and got 17 t-shirts, Vanguard is a bit of a mess at the moment and very buggy.

Not sure what I could say, one game I play a lot at the moment is Elder Scrolls: Oblivion since I'm taking a very long break from MMORPG's. It's a great world and very details, plus with the PC Version (if ya comp can handle it ok) you can create your own content with the Constructions set. Worth a look if you haven't already!

I would recommend against EQ2 especially if you said you're bored of WoW.  WoW and EQ2 are VERY similar.  In fact there's a lot of stuff in them that I'm pretty sure WoW just stole but not sure.  Anyways, I'd advise against FFXI too.  I love FF games so it pains me to say it but FFXI is a bad MMO and the graphics are definitely outdated.  And DAoC is hard to get into unless you have someone there to tell you what to do.  Me and my friend tried it and we simply got lost (Talked to some lady/got teleported somewhere/couldn't find way back).

If you want something new I'd recommend either City of Villains or City of Heroes.  Both very fun and cheap now.  Also, there's a free trial available for it right now.  I'd try out both just to see if you like either but I'm pretty sure you can buy both in a pack now.  (2 MMO's for the price of 1).  However, if you just get one.  I liked CoV better.

Last I checked, there's more than enough potential to defeat BoB.  Give it a bit longer and that shouldn't be an issue.

Same problem here. My main complaint though is that I don't have the patience to reach high-level content - where the general consensus agrees that the "fun stuff" is. For example, I only got my WoW character to level 20.

I prefer to solo. I don't like depending on groups. I also want to be able to level up relatively quickly. I'm a college student. I don't have time for hours upon hours of running errands for NPCs and killing endless hordes of monsters.

I played Matrix Online for a short time and liked it - but my computer can't run it very well. So failing that, what else do you all recommend to me?

I dont know why you laugh at PotBS, read up on the game, alot of people are waiting for it to get something different in the genre.

By that I mean people who cant be bothered with instance grinds and orcs+wizards anymore, I would say EVE is good for that kind of thing aswell, but I dont want to permanently be behind the veterans in a game.

EQ2 is really really nice mmo imho, if not one of the most polished ones on the market atm.

If you are quite bored of the said games you have mentioned,  then it appears it a time for you to push back from your monitor, turn of your CPU, stand up and stretch, go to the front door, OPEN IT!!!!!,  OMG...SUNSHINE!!!!!  eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek,  walk carefully, but directly to a vehicle be it auto or bicycle and ride to the nearest park to actually excercise muscles you haven't used in a long, long time.

    OP:

I would give BF2142 a shot :) If you feel bored of the MMO's out today I can almost guarantee you that you won't find anyone that you'll like.

You've played WoW and EVE, so theres not much in between that.

I'm waiting for Warhammer and AoC. Both looks like promising PvP games.

My name in BF2142 is IshinkeN xD If you gonna play give me a PM!!!

    EDIT:

I just thought I'd comment a little upon EQ2 aswell. To a start it was WONDERFUL!!!!! The trial isle... omg I had so much fun there... and the first months of the game aswell. Though around level 45 I got super tired of the game.

It's a nice game, thus it's very bulky in many ways.

To each new zone you go you must wait with a loading screen, so if you'r computer is kinda bad, you're gonna sit minutes sometimes waiting. The level gaps are enormous and that was the second biggest reason I got tired of the game. 1-2 levels lower is TOO easy, 1-2 levels higher is TOO hard. You can truly feel each level in difference. It might be a highly enjoyable game on max level (70) but if level differences bothers you you should kinda stay away. Leveling also goes kinda fast and in a good rate.

There are many expansions so you should also look out for that.. and there are also theese dungeons that you must pay to be able to access Feels much like a $OE money earning business to me... and really worthless... ofc they contain REALLY good loot too.

The biggest problem with the game I had, and was the leading reason to why I left, was that it was HARD to find a group!!! I didn't have a really big guild and since the huge level differences you constantly had to search for newer hunting parties since the mates you had which didn't play as much was impossible to group with.

I was playing on a new PvP server... oh I thought I'd mention that aswell, NO OPEN PVP unless you play on a PvP server. And since PvP seems to be an unwanted child (just like in WoW) it's really not many who play on the PvP servers. And the PvP itself is... well kinda OK but has a little long way to go so it becomes more meaningful and enjoyable/engageing.

You could possibly not play an mmo and just play single player games or no games at all?

There is so much to do in the world. MMO's are not the end all/be all of entertainment.
