Just a server has 10k ppl playing it doesnt mean 10k ppl are on at the same time, mostly just 1/3 will be on at given time. Its online game some ppl play in the morning, some afternoon, some at night and some 24/7 no sleep no food.
I might as well contribute. This game is going straight down to hell! Well, in my eyes. Perhaps it'll be different for other communities.
I've spent the last 5-6 years MMORPG hopping and I've noticed a VERY big trend between Asian MMOs and American MMOs. Asian MMOs will focus on what is called the grind, American MMOs will focus on quest grinding. Call me insane, but I prefer grinding over quest grinding. The only difference between the two is that one tells you exactly what to grind and where to grind....geez, do you really need that?
Guild Wars, Everquest 2, and World of Warcraft never did catch my attention, simply because of the fact that 2 hours into the game I was bored out of my mind. Lineage 2, and EvE Online though...boy, these are amazing MMOs. You shove a bunch of players together with no instructions (this is before Lineage 2 got patched and level 20 took you 1 week of hardcore playing) and what do you get? A crap load of fun and of course PKing.
So will LoTRO be successful? Most likely. It's the first game I've seen so far that uses quest XP as it's main source of XP. The only problem I see right now is powergamers plowing through the game in a matter of days (maybe weeks). However, it will NOT catch the attention of those that are more accustomed to the Asian MMO trend.
I doesn't have something to be done in that game. I played WoW and is like the same and i already said , the interface is the same with Wow so why playing a game with same graphic and lower gameplay as WoW?

You are not here to review the game or "warn" others, and you can't say you're being honest as you've shown you've no qualms with lying. You didn't play long enough to review the game, and we know this because you won't answer the simple question of how much you played. You didn't pre-order I'm guessing, so I will make the call that you played this weekend and this weekend alone. I seriously doubt that you played in closed-beta, simply because whether it was good or bad, you would have more to say than just insulting people.
So. Why are you here? Just curious as to some of the more obscure parts of the human psyche(sp?)

I pre-ordered it and tried open beta this weekend. Nah not for me. Cancelled my pre-ordered. I dont know...i really wasnt impressed with the graphics...and I was really looking forward for the immersion experience. Eh, to each its own I suppose.
But I think its going to be successful as well...which is good. Not knocking it...I think alot of people will enjoy it.
If you hadn't used the disks and were using the download - the download doesn't include the high res textures. Just in case you weren't aware of that. No i wasnt aware...but you know anyone's opinion of graphics will be subjective. Besides...the game wasn't for me...but I can see how it will appeal to others.

What i meant was according to some old official posts there are 600,000 open beta going live. You have to have LOTR preordered in order to move your current open beta characters to live server when the game launches. Otherwise if you didnt pre order before the game launchs you cant bring your open beta characters to live servers. Hence there are already over 600,000 open beta characters ready for live servers. I believe someone has quoted that in this post somewhere. And that is official statement made by turbine.

Well, FWIW, I just cancelled my pre-order. I already have WoW. If I wanted to play WoW, I'd just re-up for that sub. I'm certainly not going to pay for a WoW clone.
