    I forgot about FFXI sorry I missed that one its growing a large fan base as well and I still have to see the day that some one announces in FFXI open chat that there moving to WoW it just doesn't happen.

    Let me just clarify something (Im sure you'd all agree): A good game is not a game you play for all eternity. This would be impossible. A good game is a game youve played for quite a while which youve enjoyed. You enjoyed yourself while you played it. Why do people claim that wow, after playing it for 1-2 years, is total and utter crap? Youre seriously telling me that you hated every second of it during the 1-2 years you played? Did some guy point a gun to your head and make you play WoW?

     

    Seriously folks, playing a computer game for a couple of years means it is a good game. Now, I dont care about the top 10 list of MMO's, its way distrustfull. But come on......."WoW is crap. I play 2 years so I no!!11". Come on.......

    WoW , what can I say~!   2 months after WoW opened their servers I was forced to switch after my historic Baning from SWG.  Its has been a great game and managed better then any other MMO out there. 

    But Have you seen Turbines LOTRO?  /Borat " Very Nice."

    This is just mmorpg.com if u go to xfire or another top 10 wow is at the top but gw an eq2 are very good games and deserve to be in the top 10

    Well, although daoc has "only" 2500 people on at peak times, the RvR is busy and there's always a lot of action even if there's only 1000 people online.

    As much as I hate SOE, you are completely wrong here.

    EQ2 was not released to compete with WoW, it was released as a sequal to EQ1.  WoW and EQ2 released around the same time, and are pretty different to each other.  WoW can't be compared to EQ2, as it is based off the Warcraft series.  They are both MMO's and share basic design concepts, similar controls, etc etc.

    I don't know if you ever played EQ2... but your description is pretty inaccurate.  I've played both... and as much as I hate SOE... I'd play EQ2 before I would play WoW.

    I hate it when people continuously compare MMO's to WoW. WoW is a great game, i played it for 2 years, and it has some very nice features. The reason it has so many subscribers is that it is a simplified version of more complicated MMO's out there, therefore it caters to a much much broader audience. But mainstream is NOT equal to quality. Therefore MMO's as EQ2, DAoC, EVE, and GW really deserve those ratings more than WoW ever did. At least in my humble opinion.

    thats all you can do at 70? hasnt changed much since i quit and max was 60


    Thats all you can do in any MMO....everquest releases an expansion...you get more gear blah blah till the next one.  DAOC releases an expansion you get more gear and pvp until the next expansion....so on and so on. That whats MMO's are.  Doing dungeons for gear and pvping if its availible.  It is ALWAYS more of the same when an expansion comes out. Nothing makes WoW different than that

    Guild Wars does not. that is why it is in the #1 spot yes you can do pvp and yes you can do elite quests. but it;s NOT about the gear it's about getting skills.  that is y it out ranks ur mmo. It is because it is ORIGINAL!!!

    Pardon me, it has done nothing for the genre, endgame is a boring grind, and the game is pretty much a ripoff of other games, the only flavor they added was a few BGs, and their three (like diablo) tier talent system.



    Regardless it was a pretty decent game, but ya gotta admit, it really didn't bring much to the table. And worse, since everyone has came to try it out, their subscription numbers go up. Which makes every dev out there want to copy off them. Which is bad for us. And bad for the entire genre itself. Until developers understand this, this genre as a whole is heading to a bad place.



    I just think its funny when pro-wow people (OMFGHAX aka leet kiddies) come in here and act like they know a thing or two about the "big" picture when in reality, they don't. Subscription numbers mean nothing, RO had a lot of subscriptions but the only real reason its standing its because it had such a nice community, i see the same thing with wow...



    I'll make a prediction i am sure a lot of people would agree with. As soon as a developer breaks the mold and actually does something innovative with their game people will flock away from wow, easily.

    WoW is the best game out period, and not just in the mmorpg genre, best game overall.



    That said ive been playing off and on since release so im kinda bored of it yes... but its still the best game out period. I also agree the top5 games on this site are utter rubbish, other than guild wars.

    All that matters in any game is FUN.. Innovation is overrrated and often falls flat on its face.  WoW brought fun to millions.. that makes it a top game.

    People are always on about "new" and "original", I say BS.  Mario Bro's was a fun game, Qbert rocked, Maniac Mansion was cool, and WoW can be a great time too.. that's all that matters IMO.

    You people waiting on the next big amazing game that differs from all else and brings new crap to the table, get over it - we are just talking video games.

    I got bored too.  But it took me over 200 hours of gameplay.

    I've been away for a while and am probably going to renemw just for kicks, the game is well laid out and runs smooth as silk.  And I have good memories.

    Ive played DAOC its rubbish, it was good before mythic screwed balance with their lame expansions. NF and TOA being the worst, actually all their expansion but SI were trash..even housing sucked.
