I understand very well what you're saying. I've worked in shops with such systems. Worked in both meanings. 1: Who says I'll have a car. 2: making a fake licence plate is a pretty easy 10 minute job. 3: Who says you'll find the box?
Because Statistics say this.
1. Most people who shoplifts takes a car or there parents car.
2. Never seen a person afixing a fake license plate to their car to steal the latest My Chemical Romance CD
3. Most shoplifters. And I stress most shoplifters (I will even be safe to say almost EVERY shoplifter) always leaves the box; whether stuffed behind some other product or in the bathroom stall or trash.
Statistics are a funny thing. You can only apply statistics to data you have gathered, not data you have not gathered. You say most shoplifters leave behind the box, but how many shoplifters do you catch that do not leave behind a box?
I don't understand the point of shoplifting. Even though I'm still in college and I don't have a full-time job, I'm always saving up for the same games or CDs. I've never stolen and don't intend to, it's despicable!
Hi. It's great that you're trying to fight theft because I've always been against breaking the law. And it should always be punished and nothing should get away with people who do such despicable things. But unfortunately it is not always possible to catch such thieves. My dad installed in the store video cameras and motion sensors ajax and I can say that for the most part cases of catching thieves become more frequent, but not 100 percent because there are cases where they can outsmart us with caps and glasses that they put on so that then it is very difficult to recognize them on the pictures from the cameras.
No longer do we have to catch a person shoplifting because our constant cameras do that for us. We can maintain a 100% visual on you, unless you use the bathroom, at all times without us knowing you are shoplifting.
In the last six months we have arrested six cashiers, four priceinpakistanezameenrent a car dubai sales floor people, sixteen adults, twenty three adoloscents (stealing games, CDs, and Key Gens from WoW), and twelve soccer moms (half of them even had the stereotype MiniVan with the soccerballs pasted onto the back). Just last night we arrested two more adoloscents.
Nice story by the way you are courageous to do it.
