The fact that repetition eventually equals boredom killed WoW :P. Most of us play games to escape our repetative lives. Eventually it gets old and you move on to something that brings back the new car smell once again .
The OP said it but i'll make it short. TBC made all non TBC zones, instances and gear obsolete pretty much. So the original game is just one big dead zone now. Also i made 400G or more in a day pretty much just questing and selling drop trash. Lots of money with nothing to spend it on. That put a hurting on gold farmers which may of been Blizzard's intention. Took me 10 days to go from 60-70 pretty much questing alone with no difficulty. I played it and cancelled already. Same boring game as before i quit the first time a year or so ago.

not really, gold farmers can still make profit
the value of 1 gold will just go down
and instead of (false numbers, so i can easily show what i mean)
1 gold = 10$ before BC
after BC like its easier to get gold it becomes 1 gold = 1$
All these are easy to fix. You know what this game needs?

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Once again thanks for everyone replying. My intentions werent *though im pretty sure it was :P* to bash World of Warcraft because I know alot of people still play it. With 8 million subscribers and still getting more im sure alot of people still find it fun. But, when you've been playing since beta and seeing all the hard work thrown away in a matter of minutes is kinda a buzz kill. In Pre-BC everyone is working to the same goal, get 60 then it branches to Hard-Core PvPer, Hard-Core raider, or casual, or even start alts. Now, the goal is to get to 70 and do some insainly boring instance to get attuned for a raid that has no point to it, PvP is the exact same the ONE new batteground doesn't change that and to be casual will get you no where and an alt is like giving your soul to Blizzard for another 1 year so you can hit 70 once more. Also, remember when epic mounts used to ooo and ahh people because you spent that much money on something that is alot better looking then the basic. When you have people commenting on your gear because you wearing full Teir 2 and you look "hawt". Now, its like "hey did you know that epic you have is going to be outdated in a matter of a patch soon as "Black Temple" comes out??" Funny, almost makes all end game instance kind of pointless in a way don't ya think? that in maybe in a year when the new expansion comes out your newly Teir 5 is going to be out dated in a matter for seconds. Let's not forget, "Sweet I got my Armored Netherdrake from arena!" "But I still have to fork out the 3k gold to train the skill to use it " Sadly enouge the mount is the cheeper and easyer of the two .
The expansion wasn't perfect but it infused fresh life into the game. The main thing I am disappointed with is the mind numbing addition of endless rep. grinds. I'm not sure I can play MMOs anymore unless they steer away from the treadmill designs.
Blizzard fucked up PvP even more with this expansion and the whole Arena thing just didn't work for me at all. Best days of the game were back in summer 2005 before they added the Battlegrounds in 1.6. They didn't understand I wanted non-instanced PvP and kept pushing their Unreal Tournament wannabe crap. I actually had some pretty fun times with friends in the last few months before the expansion doing fairly pointless things like clearing 5 man instances even though nobody needed anything and PvP'ng in Silithus and both Plaguelands. The kind of random fun you'd do in a virtual world type MMORPGs like UO. I didn't care about the rep grinds and the new instances that much and the Arena was a real letdown so I didn't really feel like logging in anymore and went back to Eve for now. I don't think it was really that much that TBC somehow really sucked moreso than the fact that it was just more of the same. When your biggest selling points are "More races! More levels! More dungeons! Gimmicky mounts!" you know the expansion ain't exactly ground breaking.
Honestly, TBC has nothing on Reneissance (Yay Trammel!), Age of Shadows (Diablo time!), Trials of Atlantis (Phat lewt required!) or NGE (What game was I playing again!?) when it comes to being the worst expansion/revision in MMORPGs.

Lol... BC was way more fun to me than Azeroth so whatever lol....
But after enough time it got just as boring. or close ... but not MORE boring.
Peoples reasons for not liking it are trivial at best.

some parts about tbc i like but most i dont.. i dont like how everyone is all spread out now and how citys arnt used etc...
but overall, normal wow > tbc
Totally agree with the op..but f*ck it ... tbc made it easier for me to quit the game, totally destroyed what was fun in the game for me.
World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.
