LoL to tell you the truth I would really like to see a Star Wars game done completely right  or a game like what you were just talking about, that sounds like it would be a pretty nice game also.

Uhhhh. Someone is already planning World of Darkness MMORPG.

And the Warhammer 40k MMORPG has also already been announced.

Ya Rifts would be a sweet MMORPG to play but a game developers nightmare to create.  Could you imagine how much time it would take the programmers to create all the options and potential for Rifts?  Even just the stuff in the original sourcebook would be one heck of a project.  I think it's a great idea though.   Didn't they already make Rifts for the gameboy =(  ugg, copywright battles.

Wow, havent heard the name Rifts in awhile, would be cool to make a Glitterboy, think thats what they were called

    Great feedback guys!!

We don't hear much of dune other than the age old books and more closely done movies and singleplayer game.
I might just play it... and it'd be the most interesting of the list..

Otherwise a full-blown Sci-FI mmo of some nature would catch my eye if it were done entirely.

I agree. Dune would make for a great MMORPG.

Shadowrun all the way. If you read the lore you would understand why there is orcs elves and magic in the world (When mans meets magics and machines). There is already a Cyberpunk PnP franchise so why make 2.

Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!

i would like to see a true roll play Sci-Fi where you can build up colonies but also have the ability to use ships to seek out new unknown  areas and battle Eve online got close with space stations building now but it does give you the chance to go down to a planet and set up settlements.

at the moment most mmo's  allow you to craft  but you have to do it your self 1 bit at a time or pay some NPC to build it.

with a settlement ok the items would be built by NPC's but they would also gain skill's and become faster at crafting and over time make better weapon maybe even come up with something New with a few random stats allowed your Crafter's might find that adding a bit more or less of a given item makes it work better.

The fallout games are absolutly good food for an mmorpg.Interplay sold the rights but still has the right to make an mmorpg about it.They would have to give bout 10% of the profit to bethesda though and seen interplay isn't as "healthy" as it used to be there is only a verry small chance. But as i have hopes for fallout 3 , my hopes are there one day a fallout mmorpg will come.I know we have something like it coming in mmorpg form..forgotten the name.

    Also a western mmorpg.

Honestly, I want original ideas... not who can get the rights to what IP. An MMO should be built form the ground up. Seriously, how much game can be built around a handfull of books with a tightly held lore, or a movie?

I want to build something unique... I want to dig out the side of a mountain and build a stronghold. I want to develop a unique weapon and patent it in game and hold the rights to it's manufacture. I want to create creatures or robots with programing and behavior that I develop. I want lived in worlds and npc's that  are more than just vending machines. I want my character to be unique, not some template for a class. Also I want a game where I can have Sushi.

    KOTOR  ONLINE !

  • RehmesRehmes Member Posts: 600

Hmm from established IPs id have to say WoD, and KOTOR. Id also love for sega to make a real phantasy start MMO with free roaming world and pvp ( i love the style of the game as a whole already)

    Something original:

Make a game based on the industrial age (steam powered machines etc) A lil bit of mystisism but no magical classes.

Make a game based in different planets (no elves/orcs w/e...let us have aliens-and not those humanoid trek aliens either, give us some creepy things to play with) Aliens with high tech, some with biological type weapons etc etc.

Make a games based underwater, completely based underwater. With humanoid like species but with some fish characteristics.

Make a game based on acient mythologies going at it (greek/egyptian/norse/asian-japanese,chinese,indian) Sort of like factional warfare. You play as representatives of selec gods and thats hwo u get your powers etc (could be close to what CoX is like for example: if u represent zeus u get the power of thunder etc).

Anyway we need companies to do something new and im sure there are ton of good ideas out there, they rly need to stop making games based on tolkien lore.....its been more than 10 yrs already with MMOs basically living of that stuff man give it a rest now.

Haha, read a few posts down and saw Fallout MMO.  I'd have to say, I would love that.

To add a little, there is a MMO called Frontier 1859.  I don't think it is ever going to get off the ground, but I really like the idea of a Western based MMO.

Harry Potter MMO anyone? =P  I kid, I kid... or do I?

the type of mmo I would like to see in the future is a sci-fi space themed type of mmo.

no I'm not talking about another EVE online clone. but more like you playing a role as a pilot instead of a captain manning a giant flying buildings. controls are twitch-based using your mouse freelancer style rather than joystick way because not many people use it. but it should be optional too.

you fly your ship in a first person cockpit view only to give players an immersion of actually inside a ship flying it. external view is also optional but without the hud. no point clicking controls, no dice rolling combat, no treadmill based skill system but instead have some type of progression to your character in order to gain more access to weapons, ships, and ship equipment instead of making the character stronger.

ships controls are to be twitch based and a freelancer style of a way where guns point to where your mouse cursor is along with controlling your ship where you hold the left mouse button to move your ship, and right mouse button to fire away, and your mouse wheel to control the throttle.

flight engine can be arcade or newtonian phsyics.

and where cargo ships are not like capital ships but slightly larger than starfighters(again see freelancer for an example).

one last thing is, i would perfer this space mmo to not be such a complex space simulator type of game in order for the mmo to be a ittle bit more fun gameplay wise.

    there.. done.

I'm not totally sold on any of the MMo's coming out now. So basically I am going to wait to see how GuildWars 2 looks. In the meantime I will check out a rpg like Hellgate London to keep me busy for awhile. Too many WOW clone mmo's coming out.

    Diablo 3 or the equivalent.

Hell even Diablo 2 re-released with updated graphics, and a better pvp aspect. Diablo 2 imo was the best game ever created. The only reason I don't play it much anymore is because there isn't enough people left playing to trade/play with.

Playing - Minecraft, 7 Days To Die, Darkfall:ROA, Path of Exile

    Waiting for -

Zelda online! If Nintendo jumped into the MMORPG and release Zelda online, I think it would be hugely popular!!

I would love for the next installment of The Elder Scroll series be in an MMO format. I loved everyone of those games but always felt so alone in the world they created. MMO Oblivion would rule!

    Dragonlance MMO.

    Yes.

Maybe set before the cataclysm, definitely not during the companions time, as fun as that is.
