There is a rumor flying about in Silky Venom and Fires Of Heaven forum, that next week Sigil will anounce selling the rights of Vanguard:SOH to SOE. The further upgrade of the game will be handled by Sigil's own developing team with help from members from the developing team of SWG which have been pulled recently off that project. The first order of buisness will be to finish with optimazation of game performance, while enhancing the game experience by upgrading a lot of the concepts of the game.

This is too funny.
The SWG and VG teams uniting... yes... yes, it will be magical.
"Don't corpse-camp that idea. Its never gonna rez"
Bladezz (The Guild)
Let me know when they put in tonton mounts. Hell, if I could strafe 3 rivers with an AT walker I might resub!
They really couldn't do any worse than Brad and his gang. At least SOE would have resources - money and people- to throw at it if they decide. Let's keep one thing in mind too. EQ and EQ2 seem to be doing pretty well. SWG has problems but Lucas Arts had just as big a hand in it (NGE) and SOE did. One other thing to keep in mind is that Vanguard would just be vaporware if SOE hadn't jumped in to save Brad and Sigil once they were dumped by Microsoft.
I think that SOE have been very clever here in a business sense. They will likely get to buy a game that cost $30 million for a fraction of that cost.
You must not leave until you free Arlos and have gathered your party safely in this hallway.
there goes brad and his "vision"...lol
i like
OMG!!!
Frankenstein of MMORPG in the making...........I have to see that
Well one thing is sure, with Soe you never get bored
(Although I dont really care.)
Just a rumor, and it's been declined by SOE in a recent interview, link coming soon.
I know this guy that knows this guy that knows his brother's uncle who knows a guy know knows a guy that said SOE is gonna buy VG.
touché
SOE bought a game that cost 30 mill to create, but the question really is: did they buy a game that is worth 30 mill? (i mean gamning value wise)

I mean really, what's the point in talking about a dead game.
Logged in yesterday, the cities once filled with people are empty really. My sub ends in 2 weeks and i have been in this game since BETA, it's really going down fast now.
Great idea, big potential but one of the worst releases in gaming history at a time where other games deliver what people want makes Vanguard a parenthesis in the mmorpg market. To bad, could have been something really nice. Maybe they can sell out the crafting and diplomacy as a concept. The rest i just crap really, and we all know where crap hadled by SOE ends up...
Shot today 10 minutes ago, unfortunaly not much time today to play
Last shot when i logged in just now.
Sure would like to see the amount of people i show x 100 , also these pictures only show what i personaly experiance every time i lgin. So allot of factors have to be counted for like : time, server, location but aslong i keep seeing these small amounts of people every time i logon to the game i feel its not as dead some people try and make others believe.
Redclaw, you are showing just crafting stations where the majority of people is usually found.
if you go out the crafting room I believe it ain't as crowded as you want us to believe.
Gelenia crafting stations were even more crowded than what you are showing if that helps. (I have a Bard 30 - Leatherworker 20 over there)
Anyway showing group of people in a restricted area doesn't show anything.
Vanguard is such a big game that people is scattered around the huge map, so even if the server is full you will hardly notice a big difference around you.
Nice, besides that.
They shut down their official vanguard forum with release, just the technical forums left. But that you did know didn't you.
Comparing to SV and Tentonhammer shows another picture. At tentohammer at time of this post the vanguard forum had 130 users and WoW 10.
Besides pop on Gelenia and Infineum has not dropped that much these last month. It in my estimate +-100 people on Infineum. Low during weeks medium on sunday. Gelenia medium during weeks and high sunday.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
Come on, it may be easy to say, but that's just not true.
I was at TK last night and there were over 100 people in & around the area, and that's a LVL 24-28 Dungeon. Another friend was at SM and said he had 3 groups fighting over him (he's a Celric).
A majority of players are not found at the crafting stations, they're out adventuring...
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
Nice, besides that.

I love the VG bashing, it's awsome!
In all honesty, the people complaining about VG are the poor saps that don't have a decent machine and have to deal with poor performance, thus it ruined their playing experience. So their only avenue for venting their steam is to come here and bash Vanguard for bugs or situation they have had.
Almost every game situation has been resolved or solved. The game is 3 months old now and most people are into their 20's & 30's. Those areas are heavy in traffic. The newbie or starting areas are somewhat empty, but thats to be expected becuase you only there for no more than 2-3 days before being lvl 12'ish and heading out for deeper content.
Bashing Vanguard with false accusation and doom & gloom style of posting is laughable. There are some 190,00 people playing VG right now. Which isn't bad considering releasing a game so close to Burning Crusades. Later this year is when Sigil will brace for major subscribers when LOTR and Conan & Warhammer turn out to be little less than people hd hopes. Many Burning Crusades refugee's will start to grow up and get some 8600GTS's and other modern hardware and will evenutally fall into Vanguard and all it's deep content and kewl stuff.
Owning a house that you can keep chests in for storage is an awsome thing. Havnt seen that since UO. Owning your own personal boat to make quick jaunts to hot-spots is awsome... and a blast. My New Hellhound is also a trip. 70% runspeed and cruising threw the forest is unpresidented.

lol
i still hear all the vanboys screaming "SOE WILL ONLY DO TEH MARKETING NEWB!!!!!!!!11111"
btw does EA&mythic ring a bell?
Nice, besides that.

Ok so im looking at your 1st paragraph. Why not just start the game as playable to get the most subs possible and THEN start up grading the game as you go?TBH success in this genre is not measured by how it runs but by how many subs it has.Of course people are going to vent $ 50.00 is a lot of cash to an average working guy.Not to mention the future expansions costing 50 or 60 bucks as well.I dont play VG or WoW but if your comparing subs then VG is the clear loser here.
Ive no doubt that VG is superior gamewise but i do question the reasoning by requiring a high end rig to play it.If SOE gets their hands on it and screws the puppy then you only have the Sigil team to blame.Nobody twisted their arms to make that deal.
Personally their are very few games i will play in the 1st year VG is 1 of them.I dont have a high end rig nor do i intend to own 1 anytime soon.So until i can run it ( i did beta) beyond 15 to 18 FPS i got other things to do.
What is your physical limit?

MX13 if you read the second part of my post, you ll find out I agree with you (sort of)
My post was to highlight the fact that showing pictures about group of players is not a good indication of the server population numbers.
Let me know when they put in tonton mounts. Hell, if I could strafe 3 rivers with an AT walker I might resub!
ROFLMAO I love what you did to the sig Star Van Guard! lol
You are from the UK so i geusse even if my English is not that good you still do understand words like :
Sure would like to see the amount of people i show x 100 , also these pictures only show what i personaly experiance every time i lgin. So really i have no problem with reply's but if they are directed towards me then please make em so and don't speak about things i never meant or said.
Reklaw you English is good.
Though the core of the issue was that you were replying to another poster by showing photos as proof that the game wasn't dead.
I just point out that you chose only crafting stations pictures, which are usually the most populated area per square metre, therefore deceiving people who never played Vanguard that the game was so crowded, when in fact it is not (although is not dieing either).
I know you mentioned it was your personal view, nothing wrong with it.
It wasn't really a personal attack against you but rather a clarification for the rest of the people who never played Vanguard.
I also said that pictures in Vanguard proof nothing, since the game is so huge that even the server is full you won't notice because players are scattered around in other areas.
