Redclaw, you are showing just crafting stations where the majority of people is usually found. Ask yourself this : What is it Reklaw is saying he is showing? Answer: Pictures that only show my personal experaince every time i sign in. if you go out the crafting room I believe it ain't as crowded as you want us to believe. Did i say it was? Think about the first question you had to ask yourself once more: What is it Reklaw is saying he is showing?
Gelenia crafting stations were even more crowded than what you are showing if that helps. (I have a Bard 30 - Leatherworker 20 over there) Maybe now they are but i posted this like 2.3hours ago Anyway showing group of people in a restricted area doesn't show anything. Yes it did, think about question number one againVanguard is such a big game that people is scattered around the huge map, so even if the server is full you will hardly notice a big difference around you. At some point so far thats true
You are from the UK so i geusse even if my English is not that good you still do understand words like :
Sure would like to see the amount of people i show x 100 , also these pictures only show what i personaly experiance every time i lgin. So allot of factors have to be counted for like : time, server, location but aslong i keep seeing these small amounts of people every time i logon to the game i feel its not as dead some people try and make others believe.
So really i have no problem with reply's but if they are directed towards me then please make em so and don't speak about things i never meant or said.
Don't fall into their trap. They feel the game is dead because they are no longer playing it. Newbie areas are somewhat bear because most everyone is past that stage. Since they arn't playing or don't have friends, then offcoarse their going to say it's "dead". But the fact of the matter is the server ARE highly-populated. he game world is HUGE with more than 3-4 hot-spots for each level means there is no 1 choke-point or linear advencment that keep people clustered together.
Adventureres travel AWAY from people.... and thats when you find the juicy stuff!

Vanguard is such a big game that people is scattered around the huge map, so even if the server is full you will hardly notice a big difference around you.
Can you post some screenshots of 12-13 crafting areas of the game you are usually playing?
I cannot really argue that people do not have problems finding groups in Vanguard. In my opinion that is not mainly because the servers have lower population than other games. The problems I see are these.
1. They where expecting 500k subscribers. They have about 100k-150k.
2.They servers where supposed to sustain a population of 5-7k players, much higher than a usual game that maxes at around 3k. That was because of the huge world , and people being spread out. I think most servers have about 1500-3000 players at peak times, a few servers like infinuem ,that came after gelenia was full but didnt get many people, and the pvp servers are definetely underpopulated and should merge at some point. Others like gelenia cannot .
3. the game world is huge , there're many things to do, dungeons , quests hubs, etc spread out at great distance. People rarely do the same quest like in other games I have played i.e. EQ2. Also the pace is much much different than other games. Simply put there so many different things to do that people tend to be busy doing things other than leveling or farming for drops. In this game a lot of people might be crafting, doing diplomatic quests, building faction, doing crafting quests etc etc. This at time makes the world seem more empty than it really is.
Zvorak: There's just one fallacy in your statement. If newbie areas are dead or bare because everybody is past that stage, doesn't that sort of prove that the game is dying? A thriving game would always have some activity in the newb areas. This game doesn't have that. It's true that most players are past the newb areas by now but with no new players coming into the game, how long do you think it's going to last? This isn't about being a "vanboi" or a "hater". Even a blind man can see that if you don't keep a steady flow of new players coming into the game the game isn't going to have a very long life.
Bashing Vanguard with false accusation and doom & gloom style of posting is laughable. There are some 190,00 people playing VG right now.
What is funny is that you believe that there are 190k people playing Vanguard when all the numbers shown in multiple threads including the people who track number of active characters seem to indicate it isn't that high. Last graph I saw by the guy who tracks charcters showed about 20k characters a day being played so I could believe that it has around 80k subs with 1/4 people playing and leveling their characters per day which is generous in my opinion.
Brad said they sold over 150k boxes and are closing in on 200k (which could mean they sold 150,001 boxes). Box sales of MMO's always exceed the actual subscriber count because some people buy the game and don't activate it right away if at all (strange but it does happen, I got a MMO on my shelf I haven't played yet).

To complete your concept........there are also even more people that buy the game, find it crap and cancel the account.

VG is a more laid back and evolving game. It's shelf life was DESIGNED to be more like EQ than WoW's. Thus, like me I have a lvl 40 char but I do not log on everyday or every night. The typical formula for subs doesnt hold true for games like EQ or VG. It's more like 1/5 or 1/6th, but the game is NOT dying. All you have to do is take a quick tour of the land and crafter channeels to see it very spread out populace, but hardly dying as the doomsayers suggest.
Remember, Alot of us bought LOTR because we buy every MMO and try it. Give that game 1 ~ 2 months for people to leave that game aswell.
lol i still hear all the vanboys screaming "SOE WILL ONLY DO TEH MARKETING NEWB!!!!!!!!11111"
btw does EA&mythic ring a bell?
Poor daoc Though the game only really died when WoW came about, the expansions hurt the community (TOA that is) but it was still active till the newer and more exciting ( i guess) WoW came out.

Come on, it may be easy to say, but that's just not true.
I was at TK last night and there were over 100 people in & around the area, and that's a LVL 24-28 Dungeon. Another friend was at SM and said he had 3 groups fighting over him (he's a Celric).
A majority of players are not found at the crafting stations, they're out adventuring...
How can you tell from the images when they were taken? No time stamp on them...

That I would agree with, to a degree.
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

190k or 19k ?
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Dead, period.
Lets all read this thread in a year from now. VG is a parenthesis in the history of mmorpg.
Nice pics of 10 people in Vanguard. WOW has more people waiting in line in a server que to play the game then Vanguard has actually in their game.
With the SOE's takeover about to happen it looks like Brad's real vision is about to come true. Release a overhyped game then sell it off.
