Characters and armor look bad?

    Ok lets try it again.

    Medium Armor (some rare parts)

    Heavy Chainmail (standard non-rare)

I only wish LOTRO had more settings for faces and body like SWG, EQ2 or Vanguard.

Are there any screenies of really cool looking high level armor around yet? or is it a little soon?

    (perhaps some beta shots?)

But really, since you seem to be a Conan-fan, sorry to say, but arent the Conan characters looking much the same, from what I've seen? Since AoC is a fast paced PVP centric game I expect the characters much more simplified.

I have seen a lot of cool lv 40-50 armour recently - when my Spider killed them, haha! Next time I will try to ask them to stand still for a screenshot before I eat them.

Most of what you get to see in AoC is a level 30+ Guardian running about. What did you mean by 'the characters much more simplified'? The character creation in AoC is second to none and the armor designs seem to have their origins in our own history. Have to wait and see on that one.

Screenies would be awesome thank you.

I don't want to appear that I'm having a go at LotRO, I think I've always been positive about the game (if critical at times).

The hunters lev 15 quest reward. LOL yeah that is a good example, on another quest this guy gave me a medium helmet which was great stats wise but it looked like something an old lady would wear to church if she was color blind. I like the armor though, even though the textures on the light and medium sometimes remind me of Alice in Wonderland for some odd reason, and I really prefer the characters over EQII's Barbie and Ken look. WoWs style just never appealed to me at all. SWG had the best clothing of any game I played I think.

    I miss DAoC

I love the game, and can find very little to complain about.... but the light armor looks pretty fruity, and the medium armor is hit and miss.  The heavy armor, after about level 20, starts to look really good.  This picture is of my level 23 guardian, in heavy drawf steel armor and my level 15 quest reward helm. The shield isn't my favorite based on looks, but the stats make it worthwhile.

On the subject of characters, if you guys haven't looked at it already, checked out the mood emotes.  The facial expressions are great, and really bring the characters to life... I usually run mischievous, which is pictured here :)

Ahhh.....the good ol' SWG days...I can remember running around in composite armor that had red pants, green chestplate, white/grey helm and mismatched bracers/biceps/gloves/boots....along with everyone else....lol.   Much like this game as of current come to think of it...I havn't done any dying of armor yet.

my main in mid 20's medium armor, notice the careful color coordination I might get some dyes off one of the guilds crafters once I settle into some pieces I will wear for more than a level or 2

I think the characters look pretty nice... male elves exluded. But the low level armours at least are pretty horrible. Merry men outfits and all that. Don't know of the high level ones though.

Wow have you seen the cape/cloak you get with that special offer in PCGamer?!

Mine is hot pink/ purple/ and gold!!

I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Come on it is pretty cool looking . Definetly not the best in game. It is only a lvl 28 character with medium armor. I mainly wanted to post it to show the attenion to detail in the armor. Everyone has their own personel tastes. Mine may not be the best because I like my armor in EQ2 as well.

    nice belt
